Nice fishing there Tman. That looks like a solid fight there!!! Have to give credit to my friend and my dog. Dog got tangled in my feet while i was reeling in. Jerked the lure up out of the water and then BLAM, giant splash and his head came out. Immediately Dropped the lure back in and BLAM, he hit it hard. About a 2 minute fight and my dog was going crazy jumping from bench to bench so as I got it close to the boat I handed the pole to my friend while I grabbed the dog and had to hold him back. So that's my buddy measuring the fish.

So that's my buddy measuring the fish. hahahaha! awesome! years and years ago, I was at a friend's place in lower MI. they lived on a little lake, no wake, lots of nice largemouth there. so, it was the middle of the day and everyone was napping after am fishing and lunch and I was bored so I said f it, I'll go cast off the dock. so, I am out there and my dog (Lassie twin) is on the dock next to me and she is sniffing around the boat tied to said dock with my buddy's poles and such there.... so I cast out ye olde purple worm and I'm reeling it in real slow and about halfway to the dock wham!! bass hammers it and I set the hook and step back with one foot.... and as this happens all of the sudden there is a terrible noise next to me and I see one of the poles raising up off the boat. I turn to look, and the damn dog has hooked herself through the nose with the lure on said pole (I assume she jumped when I hooked the fish) and is making for the shore.... lol.... i holler at her and she stops and comes back and I'm trying not to lose the fish and keep her from breaking the rod and yelling at my gf at the time to get her ass outside.... so, I am alternating holding her and then reeling until the gf came out to see wtf i am yelling for. she arrives and I hand off the dog to her.... I caught that damn fish. 22 inches. good fight. lol.

muskie and pike taste about the same? i've never caught or even seen a muskie, not many in western canada i don't believe.....just wondering.
bones or no bones, i love eating pike almost as much as perch and pickerel.
i actually went fishing myself yesterday, caught one, lost one.

I'd eat northerns before most any fish. love em. gotten fairly good at cleaning them throughout the years, but my sister is wayyyy better than I. she is an expert, likely because I do the catching and she does the cleaning.....😅

I have a buddy in MI that I've done a ton of fishing with. I pretty much do most of the catching. he handles the net. it has gotten to be so much of a joke that my great aunt made us each a "fishing sweatshirt" a few years ago... mine has a fish on it, his has a net....🤣

Never fished it but my PB came from Cass and I've hit Andrusia too. Great area and a great time of year my friend,Bimidji's good too and Plantagenet used to be a well kept secret but you know how that goes. I was up there in late Sept to take delivery of my new camper,I finally got a seasonal spot at 'Little Winnie camp ground and resort' after waiting two years. I didn't get a chance to fish this time but plan to fish my balls off next year. SOOO much good Muskie water up there and I've hit it all except the Big Pond.......They say Mille Lacs still produces a few state records every fall but they get released as they should.

loving the pics, Dave!
sadly, every 'ski picture I have is either an actual printed picture or on my dad's cameras/cards in MI. one of these days I need to commandeer those damn things..... making me long for my days of making the trip up to Canada. been to Wabagoon and Lac Seul, but most of the trips have been to Eagle Lake. sadly, since 2013, I haven't been able to go (which probably has a lot to do with the fact that that was the last time the old man was able to go and he has always been my 'ski partner). my previously mentioned fishing buddy has always been a bass and pike sorta guy. I took him out on St Clair once and it wasn't his jam, probably cuz it was a shit day (both for fishing and then weather, which can get hairy pretty fast out there on that shallow pond!).
'tis that time of year, time for the big girls to start posing!
