not that the old site will be forgotten by most, but once we get a couple of GDT'S under our belt it'll feel like home again. What old site are you talking about? There was another site about the Hawks? there ya' go. |

We’ll get used to this I just gave out my first likes, just kicking the tires. not that the old site will be forgotten by most, but once we get a couple of GDT'S under our belt it'll feel like home again. If we ask Madrose really, really nice maybe she will do them here. |

I increased the size of the texts, too much? I also added whats called a SHOUTBOX on the bottom so one can post conversation with anyone at anytime bypassing any thread. Seems like it's for idle chit-chat. Let me know if you like it or should I disable it. Does not add to your post totals, just conversation. re: the shoutbox. to me it's like the "recent status updates" on the old board. it was rarely used and only cluttered up the board. maybe it's too early to judge but that's just my early opinion since you asked. |

We got 2 pages on our "preseason" GDT the other day. I also have it set to it's max of 30 posts per page. I'm hoping madrose creates the thread tomorrow, I've sent her a message but she hasn't answered yet. I like that little POLL feature to set at the top of a thread, makes it interesting how everyone feels about the game beforehand. And I don't have a handle on anything, I'm computer illiterate. I should make a thread for suggestions for making this place fun and interesting for us all. This is "OUR" forum, not mine. |

So I went over to the other boards that were recommended and see some members there that aren't on this one. For me this one is better for several reasons. First, it's faster. When I click on a link over there it takes more time to load the page. And it's nice to be able to see categories separated such as Game Day Thread, Hawks News, In the System, etc. Over there it's just one long list of threads packed together.
Really hoping that some of the regulars that are currently only on the other site will find there way over to this one. T-Man has done a fantastic job getting this up and running, giving it as close to a copy of the old site. And that was in just a few days, wait until time passes and the site evolves. I am a member on the other site, but likely won't be visiting it for any other reason then to see who of the old crew are just there. Got to figure out a way to recruit them! I think if they come here once, they'll make this their go to site for all things Hawks!

I’m sure once people figure out that this site is basically the old one, they’ll come over. I like what I see here. Same chat and same people. Last I looked there was a lot of people signed up on here. Most familiar, and I’m sure a few were just different renditions of their name. I’m sure this will be a great place, so far, I haven’t noticed much difference except the different forums. It’s like our whole neighbourhood got up and moved to a newer neighbourhood. I have a party to attend for my neighbour tonight, so I’ll be in a few times for the GDT, many more tomorrow. We also have 3 games this weekend, I coach my sons team and we are busy trying to keep our undefeated streak going!!!

Well, just went to go to the NHL.com site and what a gut punch that was. Next, went to ChiCityForums to fill the void but can't shake that it just doesn't feel quite the same. Looks like T-Man has built a nice little replica here! I'm on board to see where this site goes - I've got a good feeling about it.  |
