All 3 of those 2022 draftees who played in the CHL this season and have signed their ELCs are likely to be in Rockford next season. We may see Ludwinski for a couple games this season because his OHL season is over - whereas Hayes and Savoie will be tied up in the playoffs for a while longer.

Except for Korchinski going right to Chicago, now we'll start to see prospects from the Kyle Davidson regime begin their pro careers.

Here is the last point in Ludwinski's junior career. It's a good assist. Start about 1:57. Second is Pharand's goal. He seems to have some good abilities and shows flashes, but his offense isn't yet the sum of it's parts. His offense so far this season has declined by 9 pts. in one more game; one less goal and 8 fewer assists than last season. Although offense isn't really his big asset. Start about :23. chl.ca/ohl/gamecentre/27241/chl.ca/ohl/gamecentre/27242/

Yup the hogs get real interesting next year With the leading wave of prospects being d-men over the last couple years it is starting to morph into the forward group of prospects taking a more prominent role. Obviously with 2 prospect d-men spending the entire season in the NHL and several others getting significant time in the NHL - you would think Rockford would be getting a little thin on the backend but they are still well appointed with a top-4 of del Mastro, Allan, Phillips and Crevier. Now add the leading wave of forward prospects and Rockford should be very competitive again next season.

Lardis scored the first goal of the game, 4-2 win. He has 4g-4a in 5gms. Last year he had 5g-5a in 6gms, he's consistent.

Next year starts the wave of kids doing more of the heavy lifting.

Kantserov the assist but the goal is really impressive… Kantserov plays a very responsible game and with a motor that never stops. He almost had an OT winner early in the OT when he made a nice move and went for a roof shot in close and just put it over the crossbar ... oh so close.

Manitogorsk lost today so they're tied 2-2. Kansterov didn't have any points, but in looking at the player stats, I did notice Kansterov led both teams in shots on goal with 6. That's not bad for a 19 yr. old in the KHL semi finals, and it appears he's playing against a good team. He also led both teams in takeaways with 3.

During a recent OHL poll Lardis was ranked second as most dangerous in scoring area and Ludwinski as second best skater in Eastern conference.

I forgot it was an early game (9am my time) so I only watched the 3rd period. Kantserov was his usual energizer bunny all over the ice and and again dazzled with his skating - great quickness and edgework. Unfortunately the opponent scored with 7 seconds left to go up 4-3 and then scored an empty net goal with 1 second left to win 5-3. With him signing a 2 year extension meaning the earliest he will join the Hawks would be the 2026/27 season at the age of 22/23 just entering peak performance prime time. The timing would work out great with Bedard just starting his post-ELC contract and other prospects populating the lineup to look very attractive for Kantserov to want to play for the up and coming young Hawks. Basically the same timeline Kaprisov took - started his NHL career at age 23. Worked out pretty well for the Wild. Course there's still the very real possibility that he decides or is persuaded to stay in Mother Russia ... so ... who knows.

Manitogorsk played Game 6 of their semi finals today and won 5-2. So they're now one game away from the finals.
Kansterov had the primary assist on the insurance goal. The stats showed he had no SOG, but interestingly though, they showed he led both teams in hits with 5. No one else had more than 3. He also had 1 takeaway.

Yeah he had only the 1 assist but should have had at least 1 more. He set up a guy with a wide open net and the guy shot it over the crossbar. Another time he sprang a guy with a beauty headman pass and fumbled the pass and fell over. I don't know if we'll ever see him in a Hawks jersey but the kid can play.

Chicago hasn't had much luck with Russians, maybe he'll change that. I like everything I'm hearing, especially the hitting and having a high motor to go with his speed and hands.

Never had much luck developing them but a couple that were more mature when they arrived, like Panarin, did OK. Maybe Safonov has a bounce back in his last year in Russia, comes over, makes the team and Kantserov has a countryman waiting for him to help with the acclimation.

Would the Hawks Euro scouts keep in contact with Kansterov periodically, even if it's not in person? I would have thought they possibly did since they did draft him in the 2nd rd. at 44, which seems to indicate they thought rather highly of him. I wasn't sure what the Blackhawks did as far as keeping tabs on their European, and especially Russian prospects. Let's hope Kansterov follows the path of Russians like Kaprisoff and the goalie Askarov and not Kayumov.

I may be mis-remembering but somewhere back in the cobwebs is the notion the Hawks scout who handles Russia quit or was fired or something was changed somehow and this was sometime over the last couple years - after the Ukraine/Russia thing started.

Another prospect made his NHL debut tonight and I thought del Mastro looked pretty good. I hope he plays the last 3 games before heading back to Rockford for playoffs.

sounds to me like there is a push in AA to run it back with everyone available to return next season, so Frankie may not be headed to Chicago just yet. nothing is finalized as yet, though.

Misiak signed ATO with Rockford. With Rockford having 5 regular season games left - I wonder if the 3 new guys - Lardis, Ludwinski and Misiak - will see any action?
