Canuaks not able to make this trade without moving Beauvillier. Yes, Hawks need to get some scoring with injuries to Hall and Perry situation, but Davidson did Canuaks a BIG favor by clearing out $4M+ in cap space for them. IMO KD should have asked for a second-round pick, like he got in the Richardson trade. I know the circumstances are different, but from a pure cap perspective Canuaks won this one big time.

What is happening here? I thought this market was hockey crazed fans with all of the whiteouts and so forth. What else is there to do in Winnepeg in late November. Is the rodeo still big? Are the Winnepeg Blue Bombers still playing? It doesn't seem that long ago when we saw those whiteouts extend to 10,000 hockey crazed fans outside the old MTS center for PO games and they were actually considering the need for a bigger barn. I believe they share the venue with the Manitoba Moose. Maybe losing Big Buff,Wheeler and a few other guys took the starch out of the fan base but they still have Connor,Scheifele and Hellebyuk,(the two veterans recently extended long-term)and what's been a very competitive team so far.

I think it was Davidson that the team got a 2nd for from Vancouver but Davidson had two plus,cost-controlled years left at that point @2.65M. Beauvillier's deal is for a higher 4.15M cap-hit but he's a pending UFA,rental at this point........but with a higher ceiling IMO.

You could be right that Beauvillier might have a higher ceiling, still believe an additional asset should have come back. This trade as is allowing Canuaks to have a pretty good mix of offensive/defensive back end.

sharks were 0-10-0 on the road this year, never scoring more than 1 goal a game and being shutout 4 times.
tonight they hung 6 on new jersey (one empty netter) on 18 shots in a 6-3 win.
the sharks now tied in points with chicago (14) but chicago has 3 games in hand.

I like the handle “Frank Nazar 2025 Calder”. If that happens, this team will be miles ahead of where they are now.

Are the Winnepeg Blue Bombers still playing? I’ve heard on a few different podcasts that the economy is really tanking up there. Plus inflation and the government’s new scam with a “carbon tax”. Everything is crippling financially. Interest rates are high, so it’s a tough sell for them. If they can weather the downturn, I think they’ll be alright in a few years. If they could get a new barn, that would get the whole province to come out over the course of a few years. So things will be better soon. Once Canada has an election next year!!!

TF happened to the Senators? Everybody healthy including Norris,Taresenko and Kubalik brought-in and a new 4M goaltender and next to last in the east. The money on Korpisalo isn't off-base but there was no need to offer five years.......there're reasons he's never been signed for more than three. Maybe Dorian just couldn't pick a GT or maybe it's Ottawa,Talbot last year 17-14-2 2.93/.898,Talbot in LA this year 10-4-1 2.02/.928. The difference between Korpisalo's numbers last year in LA and this year in Ott show a similar result.

this is a bit deceiving because a whopping 50% of toronto's games have ended up tied after regulation, and the kraken have had the same result 37.5% of the time.

Lightning lose their 4th straight 8-1. maybe they thought it'd be easy when vasilevskiy came back. he's been 1-3-0 since he came back. .859% and a 3.87 gaa and on a 3 game losing streak.
