So here's my prediction. First, Bettman loves Arizona. And look how he set up the expansion drafts so that both Vegas and Seattle became playoff teams almost immediately creating a solid fan base and selling tickets. Arizona, who's never drawn well, will be opening a new arena in a couple years, what better way to sell it out consistently then to have Bedard under contract when it opens?
So, I'm sticking with my prediction of months ago, Arizona jumps up to #1. I'll pick the Hawks at getting the 4th pick.

the Athletic had an article the other day with each beat writer for the 11 teams that could get Bedard stating their case for why their team deserved him. at the end, there was a poll asking who you DO NOT want to see get Bedard. the Blackhawks got 60% of the vote, lol...
I imagine an even higher percentage of nhl fans feel the same and I expect us to not even sniff Bedard. maybe in a couple more years they'll let us have the top pick, but I highly doubt it happens this year...

So, I'm sticking with my prediction of months ago, Arizona jumps up to #1. I'll pick the Hawks at getting the 4th pick. I honestly believe Bedard will live in Orange County. Anaheim will get it. Hawks drop to 4. Columbus 3 and a wildcard team gets 2nd. Hawks worst odds are getting pick #3. Hawks odds are as follows. 1- 11.5 2- 11.2 3- 7.8 4- 39.7 5- 29.8 It does seem weird the Hawks worst odds are staying put. But that’s the way she goes. I’m really leaning towards Will Smith at pick 3-4 or 5. Carlsson I’m pretty much out on. Not sure I like what he brings at this point. I could be dead wrong on him. I think Will Smith is more like a Jack Hughes type player. Mishkov is a weird one. He’s definitely top 2 material. But I don’t think he leaves. I think they’ll make it difficult for him to leave. Military service is a way to go. That happened to that Philly draft pick (Fetotov?). I think it’s just too risky to take a kid like that. Can’t lose a top prospect to politics. So I think the top two are set in this draft. Bedard and Fantilli. I think 3-4-5 are open. I heard today a solid case for Ryan Leonard at 5. The scouts were talking about how Leonard was the cog in the wheel for the US top line of Smith, Perrault, Leonard. They were saying he was the best player on that line and created all the space for the other two. So if the Hawks get 5th. I’m looking at either Smith or Leonard if he’s gone. Barlow is there too!!!

Here in Edmonton I've heard a lot of people say they don't want Chicago to get Bedard because of the Beach incident and how Kanes a rapist who beat up a cab driver, these fans are so clueless. Of course they didn't know about Beach's history before he was drafted or having 3ways with Aldrich and a hooker while doing drugs, or how the can driver wouldn't let Kane and his cousin out when he found out who he was, or how that girl and her mom tried to frame Kane and her best friend confirmed it, plus the fake rape kit with 3 different guys DNA and none were Kane. Lots of people just read headlines and don't do research, so of course Chicago gets a bad rap. I hope the Hawks get Bedard to shut everyone up and to prove the lotto isn't rigged, if Anaheim or Arizona gets it, I'll continue to think it is.

I'm looking for some clarification on our 2023 draft picks - specifically the TB 1st, TB 2nd, and NYR 2nd.
I'm pretty sure the TB 2nd is locked into the slot 19 - but wouldn't that mean that all TB picks are the 19th selection in every round - meaning we would get #51 in the 2nd round instead of #52.
NYR was in slot 26 after the season meaning the 2nd round pick we got from them is at 58 (26+32) - but since they lost in the 1st round do they stay at 26 or move up 1 or 2 spots?

I believe the nyr pick is 56th.

It has a lot of info but I don't see anything about playoff effects, like what needs to happen for TB's #20 to become #19.

ROFL, who the fuck is Cooper Zech? Exactly, wtf is Cooper Zech, I liked Barratt and never understood trading him for a 5'9" 160lbs dman who doesn't provide offense.

Today's the day we find out we get Bedard 🤞 Pretty weird when the odds of staying at 3 are far worse than getting pick 1. But the Hawks got a 22.7% chance at a top 2 pick!!!

Thanks GT. It has a lot of info but I don't see anything about playoff effects, like what needs to happen for TB's #20 to become #19. Florida has to win one more game (ie, win the Toronto series) and we move up a spot with both tb picks.

in that wiki link, it only lists him in the nyr trade and no mention of 88. or, at least it did, anyway...

I think Barratt was just another of Bowman's picks that KD and Co decided let have a shot elsewhere, cuz he wasn't going to get one here.

I didn't see them show the 3rd pick, they just went to hilights and said Columbus picking 3rd
Either way, Bedard or Fantilli is a win. Let's hit it out of the park, even if Bedards favorite player is Crosby
