For a small fee I would tell you how impressed I was with Del Mastro, the guy is a true defenseman, never lost a puck battle , broke up a bunch of plays, great 1st pass, built like a brick shit house, really impressed with his smarts

With all the hype over the Canadians, Bedard, Fantilli and Del Mastro, a summary I read of the potential high draft picks for 2023 had a lot praise for a Czech guy named Sale. Since Canada plays the Czech Republic today, I will not only be watching the Canadian stars, but keeping an eye on this Sale guy. Should be a very entertaining game.

With all the hype over the Canadians, Bedard, Fantilli and Del Mastro, a summary I read of the potential high draft picks for 2023 had a lot praise for a Czech guy named Sale. Since Canada plays the Czech Republic today, I will not only be watching the Canadian stars, but keeping an eye on this Sale guy. Should be a very entertaining game. The NHL network will be showing enough of the kid and not a lot of the others. |

just finished Canada game this is why I love hockey. Flash and style points Canada wins big. Playing hard in all 3 zones can get it done. Canada has 3x the talent as anyone else im sure they will get it together. Gotta be all in if there is a time to lose this was it for Canada.

ben gaudreau was canada's goalie that got yanked in yesterday's game against the czechs.
looking at his stats, his GAA of 3.62 is 32nd in the OHL, his save percentage of .868 is 38th and he is 9-8-0 on a team (sarnia sting) that is 16-10-4.
i'll be the first to admit i rely too heavily on the numbers because they don't often tell the whole story but those are bad numbers for a goalie.
i hope he proves me wrong.

lots said about bedard's release. he misses the targets (he'd be close to the blue line) but yeah, that release is world class.

I don't think you are wrong this time to rely on those numbers. Those aren't bad numbers for a goalie. They are AWFUL numbers. 32nd in the OHL? I would guess there are not more than 32 teams in the OHL, which means he is doing worse than back up goalies in that league. How the hell is he the starting goalie? |

Those are ugly numbers, I wonder were he stands in the CHL. can't find the CHL standings but save % he'd be 40th in the W and 21st in the Q. goals against avg. he'd be 31st in the W and 17th in the Q. so, going by those numbers plus his numbers in the O, in the CHL save % he'd be ranked somewhere around 99th and GAA he'd be somewhere around 80th. he was the 4th goalie drafted in the '21 draft (3rd round sharks) and according to wiki he was the 2nd ranked north american goalie so there must be more to his game than meets the eye. he has had success with canada earlier in his career. www.eliteprospects.com/player/475275/benjamin-gaudreau |

So far Bedard has seemed to separate himself from the two closest contenders (pretenders?) outside of Michkov, for that #1 spot. Now let’s see how it goes against their only real team threat when they play the Swedes. The Swedes will be well aware of him. Who defends him, Stjernborg?

slovakia giving canada all they can handle, playing quite physical as well.
too close for comfort if you ask me.
not sure why clarke stayed on the ice after losing his helmet, a guy playing in the nhl ought to know better.
