my kid would be shaving by the time i hit that target. I didn't know you were allowed to procreate!LOL! If I ever had any, they'd be some F'd up little bastards!LOFL! On a more serious note,am I out of line expecting to see some social distancing or masks at a gathering since DC's a professional athlete about to re-enter training and competition?

Unless he’s a polygamist Mormon and those are all his family in the background. I do believe in Ontario where he’s at, it’s been allowed to have small gatherings. But you’re right, he’s about to go into a league that will be quarantined themselves!!!

Hossa definitely deserves it. I hope he gets it first time.
The Senators always had a knack for drafting ridiculously well for a long time. Hossa is one example. They always seem to pluck players out of nowhere. Imagine where the Hawks are picking this year if someone told you they’d be picking a future Hall of Famer?
Marion deserves this, what a great career!!!

I think Botterill will get in, she was a big part of growing women’s hockey. I think Iggy, Hossa, Mogilny and Botterill will be the players. I just don’t think Doan is a Hall of Famer. Maybe Gonchar, Elias and Alfie sneek in at some point.
I just think the Hall of Fame is for the best the game has to offer. I don’t like the idea of ok players getting in. Alfredsson was a solid player, no doubt there. Is he a Hall of famer with 444 goals 713 assists for 1157 points in 1246 games? I’m not sure that’s the criteria that gets you in. Plus no Cup wins, he was good on the international stage. But not sure he belongs in the Hall of Fame. He’s good, just not great!!!

I thought he couldn't get in till he officially retired? Either way, he should get in his first try. He played like a center and helped his teams win at every level. 500g-1100pts and 1300gms with 3 Cups plus having twice as many takeaways than giveaways and only one minus season despite playing in some bad teams...sounds like a HoF career to me.

They let Pronger do the same. Plus Pronger worked for the nhl while still having a contract on going. I don’t get the logic of the league, but Hossa deserves to be in...... now!!!

Yeah I thought Pronger worked for the NHL while still under contract. And wasn't he part of player safety? Which is ironic considering how dirty he was.

Somebody’s either eatin’ shrooms over at CSN or I’m outta braincells....LOL! They’re supposed to be re-runnin’ all the W’s from the last cup in 15 yet they showed game two against the Wild from 13 Sat night and they’re doing the same thing again tonight.....game four from 13? WTF! The Preds games and 1&3 from the Wild series WERE from 15....kinda strange.
edit: somebody heard me and they switched to the right game, started from scratch @7:25 too

Maybe they should hire someone like Savard, Yzerman, Fedorov, Lemieux, Lafontaine etc. Get guys that took the punishment instead of the dudes who doled it out!!!

Which is ironic considering how dirty he was. yeah. pronger was suspended 8 different times. for kicking, stomping, blows to head among others.... funny thing is that now george parros is in charge. pretty much your stereotypical nhl enforcer but he was smarter than pronger. parros never was fined or suspended once despite about a minute per game more penalty minutes than pronger. : ) and according to his wiki page, parros was voted the 4th smartest athlete in sports by the sporting news in 2010. (he attended princeton 4 years and graduated, majoring in economics.)

I'm surprised that there has been no mention of Hossa getting into the Hockey Hall of Fame. We'll find out today there is surprisingly some push back but I'm crossing my fingers.

I feel like he should be a shoe in, but reading the article on nhl.com made me wonder if maybe they'll take others ahead of him this year, tbh.

beyond annoyed that #4 is now in and numbers 2 and 3 are not even mentioned..... I would like to see the voting results, if they ever release them. I know Roenick isn't getting in anytime soon now with his controversial comments a while back, but Larmer should ALREADY be in and every year that passes makes it less likely he ends up in the Hall...

No matter which way you look at the world, that is a nice gawd damn bonus. I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t want a 200k bonus or bonuses during a year!!!

I have a friend whose son was an asst. PR guy for a team that won a World Series. Not only did he get a ring (worth about $16,000), he also got a $100,000 bonus. That was pretty nice, to say the least. I saw the ring, it wasn't as nice or expensive as the one that players received, but it was still pretty nice.
