I would agree if Mitchell playing in the PO's would cost him a year, there's no reason to play him just for the sake of playing in a handful of games. It's also not as though he would come in and make a difference.

Kubalik might not be able to play because his working visa expired this June 🙄 this shouldn't even be an issue, especially because work was stopped because of a pandemic and he would've had a new contract if it wasn't stopped. So his working visa should be extended till the season is officially over.
Not having a hard working 30 goal scorer will be a huge loss.

I was gonna post that about Matthews. I'm a little surprised he isn't back in Toronto already, tbh. unless he is waiting to see where they are gonna play (sounds like the east will be playing in Vegas, so no too far away from him).

i wouldn't be too surprised if vancouver emerges as the other one because B.C.'s premier said he would "grant the league special COVID-19 quarantine protocols." someone is looking smart if the previous post proves to be true!

interesting that they would pick 2 teams in the Pacific time zone. they are gonna be playing some early games in the early rounds!
I still wanna know what the plan for the Finals is, cuz it seems to me like whichever venue is selected to host them is going to give that conference winner a decent advantage.....

We’ve seen what this core with a youth cast beside them can do. Actually, that 2016 team probably had better players. I think this years squad will look very very disappointing. I don’t see this lasting long if it actually happens!!!

But, either or, they both got launched in the first round and it’s been all down hill from there. Anyways. 2017 (there I didn’t hit the one next to the 7!) the Hawks won the west on the back of the core doing there thing. Many bought in that the youth was sufficient and just because they were Hawks and young, it was gonna work. But the playoffs proved the kids weren’t good enough. I think this team is much worse than that 2017 team. Much worse. I don’t see a good result for them!!!

That's Keith during this time off, he's a freak and looks ready to me. I've seen the workout stories and he looks ready to me too but a ready 37yro and a ready 30yro are different things. The 'next' Dunkin Keith that I've herd so much about the last two years would be a welcomed sight at this point though but I still don't see him.

well...looks like vancouver is out. i'd have to guess chicago or toronto will be one pick. they'll need an eastern team to even out the time zones.

With all the positive tests, not just hockey but sport in general, I still feel they’re gonna cancel this. I just don’t see how they can go on with this?
Mike Johnson was talking yesterday and brought up the most valid question. What does the league do if a team has 3-4-5 positive tests? Those guys can’t play and does the team just play AHLers? Do they forfeit? I agree with him and I still don’t think they go through with it!!!

I honestly really hope Chicago isn't one of the hubs, tbh.
that being said, with Toronto volunteering to do the "bubble" thing like the nba did and the league's desire to have a Canadian city, I gotta think it is down to either Toronto or Edmonton for the second spot. Vegas is a stone cold lock with the way things are set up there. LA also has to be a big draw, considering they could play games at 2 different rinks there and my understanding is there is direct access from the nearest hotel to the Staples Center in LA (tunnel to/from) which would limit contact. it is kinda blowing up in those parts now, however.....
however, as GT said, it seems kinda silly to have two teams in the Pac time zone, so probably it's gonna be Toronto and, if they can't swing it, then it'll be Chicago.

I think it is asinine. what if one team gets a half dozen sick during the conference finals or the Finals? you gonna put everything on hold for 2 weeks in the middle of it? I saw an article last week where the author was basically saying he thinks the winner this year should be given even more applause due to the circumstances, but I could not disagree more. I think whoever wins this should have a big ole asterisk next to their name. just cancel it and start in October like normal, Gary. honestly I hope the players vote it down.....

I’d love to have some hockey, but not like this. I fear it’s about to blow up now, let alone when they play. The revenue will be lost either way. No use in trying to squeeze in hockey during tough circumstances. Another thought is this. Let’s say they stay healthy. However the community around them really gets hammered and they shut things down. So now the NHL played 2 rounds or so and they’d have to shut it down. It’s just too risky. They will look absolutely dumb if they don’t get it all in. LA it’s exploding out there, and I fully expect Vegas to reignite this thing. It’s either we ignore this virus altogether. Or we do something else. It really looks like most states are starting to ignore it. Too many things to go wrong. Plus I doubt they the ratings are that high. It’s in the summer and even Canadians won’t be inside watching that, especially after being stuck inside for 3 months!!!
