gavin hayes with the OTGWG. 67 points (2nd on the team), 36 goals (1st) and 31 assists (3rd) in 60 games with the greyhounds. his 14 PPGs leads the team and his 3 shorties is tied for the team lead. his 8 GWGs leads the team by 3. tin points and points % so hoping for a deep playoff run. Hayes has only played 21gms with the Greyhounds (17g), 27 with Flint (19g). After last night's game, Hayes is only 5 goals shy of last season's total of 41 after 48 games. And last season's 41 goals came in 66 games.

Did the play by play announcer call Rinzel's shot a "belter"? I can't say I've heard that one before. It was a good shot. It's similar to another of his goals when he was more in the middle of the ice.

It was another slow news night in the OHL for Hawk prospects. Only three were playing and only one got a point. Gavin Hayes had the only assist on the Soo's first goal. He made a good long distance pass for this one. Start at :44. chl.ca/ohl/gamecentre/27084/

It's fun to watch a prospect improve almost before your eyes and that's what Rinzel has done this year. He still has growing to do - both physically (he's tall but needs to get thicker) and in his defensive game (still gets caught out of position at least once a game) - but I maintain he has the highest upside of all the Hawks d-prospects with the possible exception of KK.

Kantserov had a goal and a primary assist in Magnitogorsk's 3-1 win today. They lead the series 3 games to 2 so hopefully they advance and we get more playoff games for Kantserov. It's telling that he's gotten a bigger role in the playoffs than he had throughout the season. He had 8 goals and 7 assists in 53 regular season games and has 2 goals and 2 assists in 5 playoff games.

Either way he got 2 points and his team won.

For college, Landon Slaggert scored his 2nd goal in a row vs Mich. It was his 20th. Nazar had an assist. Start about 2:22 for the goal. Nazar's assist starts at 3:37.

In the OHL, Ludwinski, Hayes and Misiak had assists. Hayes assist is worth seeing; he gets a little fancy. Start about 2:07. chl.ca/ohl/gamecentre/27092/

I am really looking forward to see him playing with Bedard and Kurashev. Probably won't put him on the 1st line right of way. He will be at the Tuesday morning skate but nothing stated as to when he will start playing.

Another player signed that was drafted by the previous GM. Some people said KD would get rid of players drafted by the last guy. Why? It's not like Davidson came from another franchise, he was part of the process of drafting them so he knows these prospects well.

It's not like Davidson came from another franchise, he was part of the process of drafting them so he knows these prospects well. it would be silly even if the hawks had a Gm come in from a different franchise to completely gut everything for their guys. They’d either be the greatest eye of talent to ever exist or it would have to be a expansion team.

In the OHL, Gavin Hayes had 2 assists, both primaries, and Ludwinski had a primary assist. Erie played but nothing for MM.

Between Rockford and juniors/NCAA, USHL....
Do we have a possible LW/RW 6'-4" 220 with saucy mitts that can be that guy for Bedard?

Three Hawk prospects played last night and all three had a good night. Pharand had a goal. Gavin Hayes had three assists, all primaries. He assisted on all three Soo goals. Ludwinski had two assists, all primaries. Hayes has now had 5 primary assists in his last two games. Ludwinski has 3 primary assists in his last two games. Pharand's goal starts about 1:25. I went ahead and added Hayes assists, really for his first two. He carries the puck nearly the length of the ice on his first one, at about :35. The second one comes from a shot about 1:19. chl.ca/ohl/gamecentre/27116/chl.ca/ohl/gamecentre/27113/
