Between Rockford and juniors/NCAA, USHL.... Do we have a possible LW/RW 6'-4" 220 with saucy mitts that can be that guy for Bedard? Dach's 6'4" and might top out at 220, he was just over 200lbs when he was drafted. He has some sweet hands and chemistry with Bedard. Hopefully he can stay healthy. A long shot is Marcel², 6'4" 240lbs, decent hands for a big guy, probably should've played his last year in the QMJHL but he turned pro and splitting time between Rockford and Indy. 3rd rounder in 2023 Felcman has 10pts in his last 10gms. He's 6'4" 198lbs, he has the frame to add 15-20lbs. He looked good at the prospects tournament, smart 2way forward with soft hands. Oscarson and Tohila are long shots, ones 6'7", the other's 6'8". They're both playing in the elite leagues.

Ludwinski with a hat trick today including the OT winner with 9 seconds left. Huge game for Paul scoring 3 of the 4 goals. And Battaglia with the only assist on his ot goal, assisted on his first as well. Hope Chicago drafts him.

Alex Pharand was the only other Hawk OHL prospect in action on St. Patrick's Day and it turns out he also had the luck of the Irish with him, as Ludwinski did. Pharand scored his 16th of the season last night, his 2nd goal in his last three games. This one was on a penalty shot. Start at 1:27. chl.ca/ohl/gamecentre/27128/

But he may actually become a solid bottom 6 player!!!

His celly after his hat trick OT winning goal was hilarious - I was watching it and it cracked me up. I suppose if your going to pull out a wild celly - right after a hat trick OT winner is the time to do it.

I just saw Kaiser was recalled - YAY! I've been singing his praises and he's been playing very well lately after a slow start when he was sent down to Rockford. Hopefully he takes Tinordi's spot in the lineup.

Great move on the OT winner. Goes right to the net on the first goal, pounds in the rebound and follows up on his second goal.

Frankie only a honorable mention all conference. starting to feel more like he should return for another year, but we will see how he and his family feel after the season is over. love seeing Rinzel and Moore on the all frosh team (with possible future Blackhawk Levshunov also on that team). the sharty dman also was d-man of the year and first team all conference...

I think it’d be best for Nazar to sign and go to Rockford for a solid year or so. I don’t see what college will do for him. It’ll exacerbate his problems, not solve them. I heard JayZ talk about Nazar a few times and they’re not as high on him as they once were. His size at this level is a major concern. Especially when you play small. So think he needs a couple years in the farm. Or a year and a half. I can’t see him returning. It’s kinda backwards if he wants an NHL career!!!

He's not tall but he's in the 190s and plays tough, did you not watch the World Juniors? He laid out some huge hits and went to the dirty areas. KD named 3 players that looked bigger and Nazar was one of them, Goodman said the same thing. If he can add another 5+lbs he'll be close to, if not, 200lbs. Hopefully he signs and plays in Rockford or Chicago next season.

I don't recall anyone on CHGO including JayZ ever saying that Nazar played small. The only bad thing I read anywhere was that at times he tried to do everything himself and stickhandle through everyone. Lately he has been making better use of the give and go. Nazar attacts through the middle and using his speed and crossovers drives to the net. Nazar is going to be entertaining to watch because of his physical skills and hockey IQ. Two full seasons at UND didn't hurt Toews.

Nascar did his best Boris impersonation last game to breakaways and nothing. In all fairness he goes to the dirty areas he can cycle the puck and is very impressive on the rush. I dont think he showed any signs that he wont be able to do the same in NHL in a couple of years. I would like him to go to Rockford mainly I want these kids to get a jump on there bonding. And my dislike for the blue LOL

Actually, he was non existent in a bunch of games. As for the WJC. I didn’t think he was all that great. Not saying he was bad. But he had like a 4 assist game vs one of the worst teams. He needs development. He missed last year. So going to Rockford for the year is the best thing for him. I doubt he’d be on the Hawks. And rightfully so. Let him stay in the farm for a year and half maybe. Let Moore and Rinzel go back for another year then make the jump to the AHL. This rebuild is gonna take some time. Not many of the kids drafted seem to be on a quick trajectory. Which is fine, as long as they pan out!!!

Yeah, I watched probably about a dozen Michigan games after the WJC and I can honestly say Nazar was never "great" in any of them. He buzzes around and makes some nice plays so he's far from "bad" but never once in the games I watched was he one of the top-3 players for Michigan. Even taking into account that the Michigan team is loaded so it's not like he wasn't better than a bunch of scrubs but I don't think he is ready to be a top-6 player in the NHL right now. I hope I'm wrong.

I would be more inclined to agree with ya if he hadn't missed an entire season, basically. so returning would be him returning for a second year rather than a third. selfishly, I'd rather he stayed, but whatever gets him more ready for the big league is fine by me. I think a lot of scouts feel like staying in AA another year is the better idea (or it reads that way online, anyway), but it is up to him and the 'hawks. I do wonder whether the 'hawks view him staying in college as the better option vs playing in Rockford. at least they wouldn't have to sign him if he stayed in school, I guess, but I'm pretty sure they could push his deal a year anyway if he played in Rockford. what I hope we don't do, at this point, is sign him this spring and let him burn a year for a handful of games. fingers crossed we go on a long NCAA run here and eliminate that possibility.

Faber won it the last two years (his sophomore and Jr years) and he is looking pretty darn good for the mild right now. from my understanding, the 'hawks really like Levshunov. as I've said a bunch here, if we don't get the top pick, I'll be expecting the brass to pick Levshunov (if he is available when we pick).

Not many of the kids drafted seem to be on a quick trajectory. Which is fine, as long as they pan out!!! Only the World Junior games and a lot of highlights from Michigan. Yes 4 assists were in one game versus a bad team, but he sees the ice well and could've had 10+pts for the tournament, he had some great chances but didn't finish, plus he set up some grade A chances. And I'm sure the guy he hurt with that open ice hit, that got him kicked out, wouldn't say he plays small. He's a hard worker. A lot has to go right for him to make the Hawks next season out of camp, but he'll get a call up at some point if he's in Rockford. If he didn't miss almost a full season he might be ready for the top9 next season, so it wouldn't be bad if he stays in Michigan, but Rockford would be best. Of course Moore and Rinzel will go back, they can be more leaders next season and go for gold again. And Greene should sign and play in Rockford next season. Another possible top9 forward.
