My biggest takeaway from last night is being very impressed with Spellacy - he's got 3 of the 4 "S"s - size, speed, and snarl, with the 4th "S" (skill) still TBD. For a first showing (by me) it was a good start. And ... that was a cheap penalty they called on him - the refs were calling it tight but that one was BS.

Every time a Dach gets hit I hold my breath. Also, looks like they could use Lardis for those one timers. More than one whiff already. It's not as easy as it looks.

They had some good looks on their 3rd pp, Dach wiffed in the slot, Ludwinski's stick broke, then Nazar scored a nice goal after Misiak laid in a beauty sauce pass.

i reckon minny is a better team than st. loo's...definitely heavier. their goalie sure takes up a lot of space as well. The Minnesota announcer said the Wild looked fresher in the 1st, well they should've considering the Hawks prospects played last night. |

He definitely stood out and two games in a row the other teams announcers were talking about him. Between the 2nd and 3rd vs St Louis KD talked about AJ and how he just started focusing on hockey last season. And agreed about the penalty, Blues announcer thought charging, but it was called boarding, it was neither. Spellacy had his guy lined up, the Blues prospect turned and lost him balance and AJ had nowhere to go. |

One thing about Hayes that gets overlooked is his 2way game, great pokecheck to break up a partial breakaway. At the World Juniors he was in a shutdown role and played the PK.

that'll do it. 2 enjoyable games. Yesterday probably should've ended the same as this one, right before the Blues 3rd goal Lardis was high sticked in the face and the PbP guy even said the Blues got away with one. But both games were fun to watch. Rolston and Slaggert have a chance to crack the bottom 6, Ryder impressed Luke at last camp, nothings changed, he's still fast and tenacious. |

I don’t know what he’s thinking.’” |
