Stjernborg has 1g-3a in his last 5gms and a +4. Hopefully he comes over next year, there's a reason he was a captain at the World Juniors, the guy is like a tank and works his ass off every shift. Don’t know his contract status but I’d try everyone drafted these last few years, might be a diamond in the rough.

Was thinking he'd come over this year but he obviously never. But they should have his rights till he's 27. 2 or 3C would be a huge bonus, realistically he'll be a sold 4th line soldier. But that snipe after cutting through the D was top9 quality. When drafted he was listed at 5'10' 203lbs, he looks heavier now, like I said, he's a tank.

Rinzel has changed numbers. I wonder if it was at his request. No one else has his old number.

At Spits game. Spellacy looks ok. But Spits are playing Oshawa. A favourite to come out of the OHL this year. Beckett Senecke is unreal. I see why he’s 3rd overall. They also have Colby Barlow. He’s a great player too.
Protas on the Spits is gonna be good. He’s big and drives the net like no one else. My buddy billets him and said he was great. But I thought he was being a Homer.
Also, I said on here before about Cristaforo. Kid is a stud. Right shot dman, skates ridiculously well. Somehow went undrafted!!!

Misiak is quietly having a good start, 2g-2a in 4gms, he started really slow last season, so that's a good sign.

Of course Spellacys point streak ended when you watched lol but he was 50% at faceoffs, first time this year. And I'm shocked Barlow has zero points and -4 after 5gms.

But Spellacy had his knee reconstructed about 1.5 years ago. So he had a rough time with it. He’s also only been playing hockey for 4 years. And this is coming from Bowler the GM. He lives around the corner from me. He helps my boy out too. Good guy. He went on to say that Spellacy is the type of kid that just naturally has “it” he’s an unreal physical specimen. Frank Evola the spits head scout told me that he more than likely should have been a mid first round pick. Just it took some time for him to get back to normal from the injury. So hopefully all this is realistic and comes to fruition!!!

And last season was his first focusing on hockey. He looks fully healed and make an impression in Chicago. For someone to start hockey that late and become a 3rd round pick is impressive, but Frank was right to think he could've went in the first.

While nobody was looking, Alex Pharand scored two goals last night; the second one was a en. He has 3 g's so far. They are the very first and the very last highlight; the last one is at 1:33. Even though it's only a few games into this new season, I already have a gripe about the 3 stars. How does Pharand score 2 goals in a 3-1 win, and not be named any of the 3 stars. The 2nd star was one of Sudbury's LW's, who had 0 goals and 0 assists, but did have 6 SOG and was 19/24 on FO's. The 3rd star was the lone goal scorer for the losing team. The 1st star had one assist, and that was all. His assist wasn't even anything great; after a d-man put a shot on net, the 1st star poked at the puck, along with Pharand, then the eventual goal scorer manages to put the puck into the net. So how did one assist earn that player the 1st star, over Pharand who scored 2 of the 3 Sudbury goals? And, how did 0 g's and 0 a's earn that player the 2nd star over Pharand, and over the other goal scorer for Sudbury? Did they value being 19/24 on FO's more than goals? Usually, goals and assists get you a star. How did the two players that scored all the goals for the winning team who was playing at home, not get a star, period? chl.ca/ohl/gamecentre/27383/

And yeah wtf is wrong with the people picking the three stars, the three players had two points combined, same amount of points as Pharand, and the guy with the GWG wasn't a star. Misiak and Henry play tonight.

Sometimes a kid is all over the ice. It’s not just about goals and assists. Like you said there he was 19 of 24 on draws or 79%. Could a had 3 great back checks that prevented goals. This is why stats are great for the argument of people who don’t watch the games. It is tough to get a read on prospects when you never really see them play. That’s why I love when someone posts something about seeing a kid live. The eye test is much greater. And I’m not trying to say anyone’s points aren’t valid. Just need to see more than stats and a few hilights!!!

And most of us don't, or can't, watch guys not in the NHL, so we only have highlights and stats to go by, when you watch enough highlights of someone you can see some of their tendencies and how they play. As for Pharand, scouts said he's a strong 2way forward with good hands, the coaches trust him in defensive situations, so producing offensively is a bonus.

It went something like this: For the first star I pick my brudder, the Pocket Rocket who had a goal and an assist playing a good two-way game. For second star, I thought Jimmy Roberts had a good game and did well on the penalty kill and got an assist on one goal. The third-star I pick is Bobby Hull, he had three goals and an assist.

Spellacy was held pointless in back to back games but he had his best game at the dot, first game taking over 20, he won 14 of 21. He also had 2 shots and 5 attempts.
The 3 stars were strange, 3rd star had 1a, -2, and was 8-20 at faceoffs. Greentrees linemates had 3pts each and were the top2 stars, Greentree had 1g-3a, I think that'd trump 1a, even if he had a lot of hits it didn't help when they lost 4-1.

Rinzel, Moore vs James and Gajan played against each other.
Not a good night for the Hawks 2nd round goalies, Gajan let in 7, Commesso 6
Moore and James had 1g-1a each and Rinzel scored.

I thought I would give this thread an assist. In addition to what OTH and GT have already mentioned:
Last night: Boisvert had 2 a's, Ryan Greene had 1 a, Aidan Thompson had 1 a, Taige Harding had 1 a, and Alex Pharand had 1 a.

Here is Taige Harding's assist. His pass looks very similar to Korchinski's pass to spring Nazar for his sh goal.
Start at 1:10. Even at a longer angle shot on camera, Harding still looks tall.
