Nice and quick. At this point I’m guessing they know him pretty well. A point a game defenseman and yet he’s still 10th among defense scoring, albeit in fewer games. Impressive scoring for defensemen in the OHL. Most of his points come on the PP with five goals and nine PP points and yet still leads all defensemen in the OHL in +/-. I’m liking that as well. Future is rounding into shape. It's a really good move, especially cause he's a big right handed dman who played with Boqvist and in turn Campbell seen a lot of him too. I have to admit I didn’t think this was a great trade at first and I was by no means a Perlini fan. But Perlini is pointless in six for the Wings and looking more and more like a fringe player. Regula looks to have some upside.

Seems like he is doing the same in Detroit now. Let's see what happens when and if he settles in to a position with the Wings.

He'll still be a passive perimeter player because he's timid and won't go to the dirty areas. Yeah he has size, speed, and a hard shot but he's easy to intimate and defend against.

Last season he put up even better numbers and he's only 4 goals away from his personal best with about 40gms to go. He's a co-captain now and being a leader down there. I like getting big dmen who can skate, like this years draft, Vlasic and Moberg.

Problem is we are still saddled with Seabs contract for 4 more years after this one. Now Keith is also long, but I think it's not a real bad value for him. He might be trade worthy if he agrees to it. Now I also feel SB IS NOT the guy going forward to manage the teams contracts.

I like that assessment of him. Never cared for a player that is that afraid of contact (unless he's getting 35 or more goals a year ).

From our old stomping grounds yesterday, Moberg, Teply and Barratt were the three prospect stars of the week, in that order.
Moberg has 3 g's and 9 a's in 15 games, but is -11. Teply has 7 g's and 11 a's in 18 games. I hope the rest of his game is developing too. Barratt has 2 g's and 5 a's in 9 games. Could the Hawks look to sign him when his season ends?

From the Hockey News Top 100 under 21 issue. The Hawks have 3, Dach at #21, Boqvist at #47 and Nylander at #87. FYI, Jokiharju is #59.

Interesting list, there’s several undrafted players in there including Lafreniere and Byfield from the upcoming draft in the top ten. Noticeably missing however is the malcontent Jesse Puljujarvi who is currently leading his team and sitting 4fh overall in Liga scoring. How long does Edmonton hold his rights before trading him. I can’t see him ever playing there even though the current regime is different than the one he bolted from. I’d still kick the tires on this one, another first round RW reclamation project.

I wonder how Jack Ramsey is coming along at Indy with his switch to defense.

I wonder how Jack Ramsey is coming along at Indy with his switch to defense. Haven't heard much about him so far. Maybe that's good, let him develop this year and see what Rockford can do with him next year. I'm more wondering about all these prospects we been hearing about for the last 3-5 years and nothing seems to come of it. Are our scouts may be that bad they really don't know talent or don't know what the teams wants? Or maybe our "leaders" don't know squat about hockey, like McDounut, a baseball guy.

Alex Regula now has 9g-15a=24pts in 22gms. He's 2 off his career high in goals from last season, 11, and he played 66gms last season, he's going to shatter his personal best.
Dominic Basse had his first shutout of the season stopping 34 shots and on Saturday vs the Madison Capitals he faced 74 shots, yes 74 shots, and he only let in 4 and won 6-4.
Evan Barratt had 2g-3a in his last 2gms.

That's a good point that we all should keep in mind. I know we tend to blame Stan when high picks fail but the scouts are the ones doing the evaluating and grading. I thought that's what Mark Kelley and his staff do during the season and in the time leading up to the draft and that Stan leans on Mark K. and the scouts to narrow things down. I'm pretty sure I said this on the old board. I keep hoping out of one of these recent drafts that maybe we'll get an Andrew Shaw, or maybe a Dustin Byfuglien or maybe a Troy Brouwer type pick. What I mean is a lower round pick that performs way above their draft round. Admittedly though, chances are slim. We certainly didn't get it from 6th rounder Dylan Sikura.

Niklas Nordgen (HIFK) and Antti Saarela (Ilves) were both named to Finland's selection camp roster for the 2020 World Juniors. Along with the 2 posted above, Regula and Teply.

He was a scoring machine at Checkers, Canes farm team, but we traded him for I can't remember right now who and too lazy to look it up.

This fits right in with the Blackhawks three stars of the week. They were; 1. Michael Teply - 2g's and 2 a's in 3 games. With one g being the OT winner you posted earlier. 2. Alec Regula - 2 g's in 3 games. Both were PP g's. 3. Dylan Sikura - 1g and 2 a's in 3 games. One thing I wonder about with Nordgren. His skating was a main drawback when he was drafted and I wonder if the injury he suffered about a year ago and has just very recently come back from has held him back in improving his skating.

Part of his prospects report. I see why SB drafted him, for his fantasy league. March 2018 – Niklas Nordgren had a great start to his professional career when he scored three goals on his professional debut in a Champions Hockey League game. He hasn’t had the same kind of success in Liiga but his offensive production in the Finnish junior league has been amazing. Nordgren is a very talented offensive winger who works hard and understands his defensive responsibilities so that he’s not a liability defensively. He seems to be more of a playmaker than a goal-scorer but also has an excellent wrist shot. Nordgren has very soft hands and great vision but the one thing holding him back is skating which is especially worrisome for a small player like him. If he can improve his skating or find other ways to produce offensively at higher levels, he could be a gamble that pays off big time in fantasy hockey leagues.

Kinda would have been nice if a Hawk draft pick was in there too. Barratt was there last season and he's a good prospect. But considering Stan has finally drafted more CHL players, I don't mind there's no drafted players on that list.
