Did you hear the Knights goal song? If Regula makes this team he is going to be so sick of that song. Like me.

Niklas Nordgen (HIFK) and Antti Saarela (Ilves) were both named to Finland's selection camp roster for the 2020 World Juniors. Along with the 2 posted above, Regula and Teply. Nordgren is a bit of a surprise seeing his recent injury history, but they’re probably eyeing him up due his past success. Good luck to both of them.

^^ That was a nice goal. I've wondered if we'll ever see either the other AA and/or Kayumov over here in the very near future since they're both 21. And if the Hawks still keep tabs on them at all. From what I've read on them, they're both very skilled.

Showed more skill than his numbers implied. Looks like a decent set of wheels. Let’s get the two Russians over here and see what they’ve got.

I like those lines, Kurashev and Entwistle could be future linemates on the bottom 6 for the Hawks. Q and Hagel could be future top 6 guys, or at least top 9. I like the 3 pairs of D as well, good mix. Nice to see some size back there, especially getting Orsipov healthy again, huge Righty who just scored his first pro goal.

There’s some that say the USHL is the top development league, better than the OHL. Not sure I’d agree but it is a good league.

anyone with any insight into how Beaudin is doing? I've heard little to nothing about him it seems. seems like the forgotten man, even though he is now the highest draft pick playing for Rockford with Boqvist in The Show.

Thanks GT, and T-man. Maybe we'll see at least Kayumov at Rockford next season. Since the Hawks have a real need for potential top 6 F's in the system, they have nothing to lose by bringing him over here. He may or may not develop but you can say this for certain; if the Hawks don't bring him over they'll never know if he might have developed into an NHL caliber player. I found a post draft writeup where Kayumov said he wasn't surprised the Hawks drafted him. He said they talked a lot during the season and they came to Russia to watch him. He also said he thought he played in a 'similar way' to Panarin.

He's probably not getting that much ice time, most drafted Russian kids have to toil on the bottom lines, unless you're elite. His numbers aren't to bad, especially if he can crack 20 goals. I really liked his scouting reports when he was drafted, plus compilations vids. Hard working 2way forward not afraid to get dirty. Only seen him at the following World Juniors and they were right.

Another big win for the Hogs, Delia stopped 33 of 35.
Q with 1g-2a, Hagel 1g-1a, Carlsson 1g-1a.
Kurashev and Entwistle with a point each.

It wasn't all that long ago when I touted just about every prospect too but I've been burned so many times lately,I'v lost my enthusiasm. To those who still have it I have one question...….. Can the big club expect some NHL caliber help from it's prospect pool and when? Are there better forwards in the system than Highmore,Sikura and Wedin…...that's what I've seen so far.

If there were better forwards in the system than those you named, given the offensive woes of the Hawks, one has to conclude that if they existed they would be in Chicago. What you see is what you got------a bad to mediocre bunch.

I don’t believe so. I fully understand why people think that every prospect will be better than the last. I sure hope by the new year even Beaudin starts to look better in the farm. If he’s terrible his first year all the way through, I don’t see him getting to the nhl. It’s a young mans game and almost all prospects show more in their 2nd half of their first year. So far, it’s quite evident that the orgs drafting style hasn’t really panned out over the last decade very well. Especially considering the extra picks they’ve had from salary dumps. Yes a few picks were dealt over the last decade, but not enough to knock this thing off the rails. We just need an overhaul of the org and to start over. 10-15% of kids make their nhl teams once drafted. That’s why it’s best to not lean on the later picks and start picking where there’s hard to miss kids........ at the top of the draft. No team can it rebuild a team with 2nd and 3rd rounders etc. It just doesn’t happen. We need guys like Toews, Kane, Malkin, Crosby, Marner, Mathews, Petterson, McDavid, Draisaitl, Eichel etc etc. All top 5 picks. We have one, Dach, we need at least one more, maybe 2 to get this back on track and have some hope!!!

Part of me still wants to be positive about the team's future and it's prospects like a few other guys are and I respect their interest......I really do hope they're right but I personally have to see it to believe it at this point. Top picks are a definite advantage, even the Oil hit pay dirt after a dozen or so but I'd still like to see some of those 2nd-4th round picks from the last several years contribute here like they do elsewhere but we don't with the exception of D-Cat. If top three picks are the direction and I understand there's a few good ones next summer, then move everything that can bring more picks and hold our noses for another three years I guess.

Probably not. Although I still think Kurashev has some latent talent to show off. He went through three years with a sub par Remparts team yet led them in scoring twice, once as a sixteen year old, and second the other season. He had a nice WJC and didn’t embarrass himself playing with the grownups at the World Cup. Hell, he even put a shot through Rask in the preseason when Rockford played the Bruins. He is starting to score at the pro level now as well. I’d like to see him playing with better players for a stretch. Quenneville is another guy deserving a shot with the Hawks before the season is over now that he’s healthy. I’m also hoping Michal Teply playing on home ice for the Worlds has a great tourney, we could use a late round surprise. But like Big T said, we need some top first round guys to really turn this around. There might only be some future complimentary pieces coming.
