I actually don't know the correct answer but I figure someone does. Who was the first Russian player to play for the Blackhawks? I was thinking the Hawks were one of the last teams to have Russians on their roster. i think phil has answered it with kravchuk. but if coaches are included on rosters then vladislav tretiak would eclipse kravchuk by a year. he didn't play of course, although at 38 he was still that good in practice that keenan asked him if he wanted to play again. Too bad we don't have a young Tretiak in the system. Seeing Tretiak's name jump started a brain cell. Here's another, fairly easy trivia question about Hawk Russian players. I have no doubt more than one on here knows this one. The Blackhawks, quite a few years ago, signed the grandson of a legendary Soviet coach; his father was also a coach who was an assistant coach for a little while for the San Jose Sharks in the early 90's.

I was thinking the Hawks were one of the last teams to have Russians on their roster. I believe it was Igor Kravchuk Otherwise briefly known as "Gary" Kravchuk. The clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cKD-aHfbG4) jumps over his scoring to his embrace with JR. In between, as he raised that right arm, I recall him celebrating uniquely as a sort of Pope- and/or Queen of England type hand gesture like thanking the crowd for the cheers. Most unique goal celebration next to Hossa's arm pumps.

What was Ed Belfour's original number with the Blackhawks?

That’s like speaking French, in Russian. I think it’s gotta be the weirdest explanation of where someone came from. It’s like saying I hit myself in the foot with a shovel for your mortgage. It just doesn’t make sense. But I’m sure he had a great time in his journey!!! "I met a German girl in England who was going to school in France and we danced the Mississippi at a Alpha Kapa dance" George Thorogood. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7I_dyXoM-pIThat'll wake an old bastard up! I love me some gawd damn Thorogood! And the Delaware Destroyers!!!

Someone mentioned the Old Barn. I was at the final game played there. Who was the last skater to step off that ice?

Viktor Tikhonov I believe. You would be correct. If I remember right, he barely unpacked his suitcase while he was a Blackhawk. He played in 11 games in the 2015/16 season. likely his biggest game with the Hawks was when he skated onto the ice for the banner raising ceremony

What was Ed Belfour's original number with the Blackhawks? his first number as a hawk was the same as yours. he wore it for 6 weeks with chicago, then that same season they retired glen hall's number so he switched to this number. so in 23 games in his first season he wore both #1 and #31 but settled on #30 for the next season when he won the calder trophy and for the 7 seasons following that. EDIT: i cheated.

he actually scored the last goal in maple leaf gardens. He sure did. Me and my wife went to Toronto for that game, but couldn't find tickets for under $500. We ended up going to Gretzky's for the game and had a blast. We found some other Hawks fans in there and we all got some tables and sat together. Loved seeing Probie get that last goal.
We had so much fun with the Toronto fans that night jawing back and forth. All good natured and afterward they all sang happy birthday to my wife. Good times...
We still have the programs and commemorative buttons. Later that night we went by the Garden to watch them clear the crowds with cops on horseback. Pretty rowdy, but no rioting.

^^ right on. was gretzky's joint any good? on the topic of the original maple leaf gardens, the building is still in use. the old ice level is a supermarket, the floor above is a big fitness center and the third and last floor is an ice rink, right near the roof. the old nosebleed seats are front and center now. thought it was pretty cool.

That’s pretty cool. I read an article that Gretzkys is shutting down. I believe it’s been going for 27 years or something like that. But there’s nothing like gloating in enemy territory!!!

Maybe not the greatest technically but who played with more energy, that boy just couldn't leave that thing alone. Great with slide work but he also played the same three-chord riffs Chuck did and he grabbed two stings like Chuck did too when he ripped.......Chuck Berry invented jamming on an electric guitar and Thorogood was a top student.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIb-Q2xyHccSIXTY FIVE YEARS AGO!

Found This on Google:
After nearly three decades, Wayne Gretzky’s sports bar in Toronto is hanging up its skates to make way for a condo building. Thursday night saw friends and family of the hockey legend celebrating one last time at the eponymous spot. “I was here 27 years ago for the opening and I’ve been to every big event here over the years. I’m very sad to see it go, very sad,” says longtime patron Peter Walcot. Gretzky’s has been a popular bar with locals for years, sitting at the corner of Mercer Street and Blue Jays Way with the aptly numbered address of 99 — just like “The Great One’s” jersey. It was announced last summer that a condo building would be taking over the location.

3 part question:
1.) Who produced and performed the song: Here Come The Hawks?
2.) Why did they name the song Here Come The Hawks?
3.) Who is the producers son?
