Gary Suter became only the 2nd Hawk defenseman in team history to do what? Suter became only the 2nd defenseman in Hawks history to score a hat trick in a Stanley Cup playoff game....April 24th, 1994. It was also the next to last game in Chicago Stadium.

What did Bobby Hull do to assure his brother Dennis would not be returned to Juniors? Heard this straight from Bobby Hull at one of the Blackhawks conventions:
Dennis Hull had played 9 games in the NHL. On the way to the game that would have been Dennis 10th, Bobby Hull was driving with coach Billy Reay to the game. Reay decided to inform Bobby that although Dennis would dress, he would not be allowed on the ice and after the game was being sent back to juniors.
Bobby, being in the starting lineup, talked to Dennis and told him as soon as the puck was dropped, Bobby would leave the ice and Dennis was to jump on. Once they did this, Dennis could no longer be sent to Juniors.

And Dennis went on to have a solid NHL career from there on out. Seven seasons at 25gls or more.three at 30 or more and one at 40.......he also averaged 30asts for his career.

Yup, Toews is gonna run for Prez in the next election as he’ll be the ripe ole age of 36. Just old enough to run. From there he’s going to push his hockey first initiative, all citizens must participate!!!

In reference to the story that Bobby could shoot the puck so fast that it could go through a car wash and come out dry. Bobby added that Dennis could shoot the puck just as hard as him, but couldn't hit the car wash.

Dennis hit the car wash over 300 times my friend but his shot was know to be a bit wild and dangerously so. I still remember seein' Dennis steamin' down the left side on TV from NY,he reaches the top of the circle and winds up.........the shot ends up hittin' Eddie Giacomin right under the mask and he falls backward like he was hit by a 30/30. He laid on the ice for a long time but ended up being okay. Goalies were tough bastards!

We used to joke that when Dennis wound up a slap shot in the crease, he would hit the back wall above the organ.
Also chants of "Hit em with your purse dennis" would rise from us 2nd balcony guys.

IMO,Dennis was always under appreciated in Chicago. I posted his career accomplishments earlier but his first season after his big brother left was the most impressive,39gls/90pts in the reg season and TWENTY FOUR points in 16 games during the team's run to the SCF in '73'.....Smythe worthy? Yeah,it could get pretty ugly up in the 2nd balcony but the 5'11" 198lb forward was far from a shrinking violet.

He just hasn’t told anyone. Also, don’t have to be “born”’ on the soil of the US. “Lying Ted” Cruz was born in Calgary but due to his mother’s American citizenship. My father could technically run for President, as his mother was American for Elkhart Indiana! And it’s my old mans 75th birthday today. He’s also gonna run against Toews in 2024. There’ll be a 79 year old pissed of grumpy old man vs a 36 year Toews. Although Trump will ask Toews for his birth certificate, and he may have a valid point this time!!!

Mainly due to Mr McCains situation. I was a big fan of his. Isn’t there another rule to that law that you have to live in the country for the last 10-12 years to run? I know in Canada we have that, can’t have Trudeau in exile for a decade only to come back to rule this inferno again!!!

I actually don't know the correct answer but I figure someone does. Who was the first Russian player to play for the Blackhawks?
I was thinking the Hawks were one of the last teams to have Russians on their roster.

about the first russian born player for chicago.... i was poking around the WWW and according to wiki there was a fellow named johnny gottselig who played 589 nhl games for us between the 20's and the 40's. according to his wiki page... "Gottselig was born along the banks of Dnieper River in a tiny German Catholic village of Klosterdorf in the Swedish district in the Kherson Governorate of the Russian Empire and emigrated to Canada the same year. In later years, he would say he was from the better-known city of Odessa which was the largest centre in the general vicinity of his birthplace."so...let me get this straight. he was born in a german village in the swedish district of the russian empire and the nearest big city was odessa (which is in the ukraine)? never mind, i wish i didn't bring it up. : ) he also coached the hawks for 4 years. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Gottselig

That’s like speaking French, in Russian. I think it’s gotta be the weirdest explanation of where someone came from. It’s like saying I hit myself in the foot with a shovel for your mortgage. It just doesn’t make sense. But I’m sure he had a great time in his journey!!!
