Maybe not the greatest technically but who played with more energy, that boy just couldn't leave that thing alone. Great with slide work but he also played the same three-chord riffs Chuck did and he grabbed two stings like Chuck did too when he ripped....... Chuck Berry invented jamming on an electric guitar and Thorogood was a top student....www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIb-Q2xyHccSIXTY FIVE YEARS AGO! AND CHUCK BERRY STOLE IT FROM MARTY MCFLY AND THERE'S VIDEO PROOF OF IT! STOP SPREADING VICIOUS LIES, LIES, LIES.......LOL
Michael J Fox could actually play.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVy8tz54_JA

a blackhawk also scored the first ever goal at maple leaf gardens. Mush March (say that 5 times quickly) played 759 games with the hawks from 1928 - 1945 and he scored a double o/t goal in 1934 to win the cup for the hawks (the team's first), and that was the first ever recorded o/t goal to win a cup. he was also the last surviving member of that team. an explanation for the photo below.... A month later (after scoring the o/t goal to win the cup) he was working the pumps. In years to come he’d spend his summers as a golf pro, but in ’34 as a Stanley Cup hero he put on shirt and tie, brogues and a suit of coveralls and leased this service station from Standard Oil. It was at the corner of Kostner and Montrose on Chicago’s North Side, where a Jiffy Lube does its own oily business today.puckstruck.com/tag/mush-march/3 cheers for the man himself! and thanks to heavy brylcreem usage, not a hair out of place. from his wiki page... Scored the first goal in the long history of Maple Leaf Gardens on November 12, 1931. On February 13, 1999 as part of the final game played at the Gardens (also between the Maple Leafs and Blackhawks), he officiated at the ceremonial opening faceoff - with the very same puck that he had used to score that first goal almost 68 years before.
and it just so happens the first game at MLG was 89 years ago today.

3 part question: 1.) Who produced and performed the song: Here Come The Hawks? 2.) Why did they name the song Here Come The Hawks? 3.) Who is the producers son? 1.) Dick Marx produced and his orchestra performed Here Come The Hawks (I still have the 45 record. Side A had the version with words, while side B was orchestra only)
2.) The late great Lloyd Pettit used to use the catch phrase: Here Come The Hawks
3.) Richard Marx is the son of Dick Marx.

Unfortunately Wayne died at a much too young age of 29 due to brain cancer My favorite name for any NHL'er has to be Yvonne Cornoyer. It rolls in such a cool way. Frank McCool is mine. He was an NHL goalie in the 1940's. His name was cool before "cool" was cool.

Thanks for posting this article on Glenn Hall. He is and always will be my favorite goalie. I hope he lives to see a lot more Christmases.

I decided not to make this a trivia question since I'm sure it would be too easy. The question would have been "What Blackhawk came up with the curved stick." I'm sure everyone knows who it was.
I got a Don Cherry book for Christmas a few years ago and he interviewed Bobby Hull one time and this is the story Bobby told him as to how the curved stick came about. Bobby said Stan Mikita had a "terrible habit" of breaking sticks he didn't like but one day he got a stick he couldn't break. He kept leaning on it but couldn't break it so he finally went over and jammed it in the door to the bench. He kept pulling on the stick and then the blade split in two. The top part flew off and the bottom part stayed put but had a big curve in it. As Stan was skating off the ice, he took a puck and shot it in the net with the broken stick.
Then Stan fished the puck out of the net and shot it in again. He did this six times. Bobby and the others were watching this from the other end of the ice and finally Bobby went over to Stan and asked him what he was doing. Mikita told him he tried breaking his stick and he put a hook in the blade and said "and boy, can you ever fire the puck with it." He called his stickmaker after practice to get some sticks with a curve in the blade and also ordered six sticks with a curve for Bobby Hull. Bobby said from there it went from a little curve to a huge curve.

Thumbs up, because any post about the Hoss is a good post. My answer to any trivia question is always HOSSA. Maybe that's why I'm always wrong.

Here's a couple more excerpts from the Don Cherry-Bobby Hull interview. They mentioned Dennis Hull and I didn't know this but I'm betting there are some on here did but apparently Dennis became a good dinner speaker, with jokes and humorous comments.
Don Cherry mentioned to Bobby about Dennis becoming a good dinner speaker and Bobby related one of Dennis's jokes: "One time in Belleville, my dad was walking down the street, and someone came up to him wanting to know the inside scoop of the Blackhawks, and said," Hey, Mr. Hull, what's the latest dope in Chicago?" My father said "My youngest son."
Don Cherry mentioned this one to Bobby. "He tells the story that you and your dad and Dennis were in an elevator and a woman walks in and recognizes Bobby's father. She says 'Aren't you Mr. Hull?" He said "Yes, this is my son, Bobby," and then pointed to Dennis and said "And this is his brother."

I know this is more Bruins' trivia than Hawks but it was on NHLN last night and three of em were EX-Hawks...... www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbyQ8SHEQUgNever realized Phil Esposito was the first to ever get 100pts in a season back in 68-69 when he put up 49/77.......that's a lot of assists!LOL! Gordie Howe was the oldest when he did it one day before he was to turn FORTY ONE!

Thanks GT. It was on page 4. I don't how I missed it earlier. I really liked the joke Dennis told starting around the 4:15 mark about them being on a flight from Toronto to Los Angeles and spitting in shoes etc. and spitting in the Coke. Dennis Hull was good at that.
