and look where mcdavid is 😅 I started scrolling through the pages there and after about 3 I quit and went to the fantasy page to check how many he had, lol. I was surprised he has as many as he does. still far away from the lead, though. I think he leads in enough categories as it is! |

I figured someone would get it before I woke up and Bob proved me right (kinda). I say kinda cuz there is more than one Tkachuk playing in Canada! I was surprised he was on top of both categories, but I guess I shouldn't be. either of them wouldn't have shocked me, but to lead in both is pretty crazy. especially with Gudas in FL, guy is a fricking hitting machine! |

likely time to resurrect this thread seeing as it seems we're approaching the summer doldrums, that is if we're not already in them.
anyhoo...i was mucking around the nhl.com stats page and i stumbled upon this nugget.
anyone want to take a guess which blackhawk's player (minimum 50 games played, minimum 10 goals scored) has had the best shooting percentage over a season? i wouldn't have guessed this but i think in the deep, dark recesses of my mind i may have heard it before somewhere so maybe someone here knows.
billy gardener in 1983/84 was 2nd highest scoring 27 goals on 115 shots for a 23.5%. (the #1 guy had 27 goals as well)
jim pappin in 1974/75 was 3rd highest with 36 goals on 156 shots good for 23.1%.
troy murray in 1985/86 was 4th with 45 goals on 196 shots for 23.0%.
jeremy roenick in 1991/92 was 5th with 53 goals on 234 shots for a 22.7%.
best all time was charlie simmer who managed a 32.8% shooting percentage...56 goals on 171 shots.

it was ted bulley who scored 27 on 105 shots good for 25.7% in 1978/79. best ever mark over a season by a blackhawk...or at least the best since they started tracking shots in the 1959/60 season..
(i actually noticed recently this shooting % question was posted on page 1 of this thread on a group of trivia questions big-t had posted. it was the last question.
so my apologies for the repeat.)

I can think of one movie I saw on TV years ago where I think the lead male actor wore a white Blackhawk jersey. The storyline involved a hockey player. I'll have to see what I can find.

Sweeney was the hockey player that gets injured and has to retire from hockey which ends his shot at the NHL, but ends up in figure skating and gets paired up with a wealthy, spoiled prima donna. In several scenes Sweeney is in a white Blackhawks jersey, with the #9 on it. In the theater poster for the movie, he's also shown in the Hawks jersey. |
