good picks both but i'd take bolland's cup clincher first and then kane's second. kane's had the most significance but it was a pretty bad goal for one and it lacked that classic call because nobody knew where the bloody thing was except maybe kane and sharp and leighton. i suck at this so who knows? that Kaner goal being the first Cup win of my lifetime clinches it for me. I'd put the 17 seconds 3rd or 4th, maybe behind the OT winner vs the Kings in 2013. but #2 is realllll close to number 1 for me, partially because of the opponent, partially because of the situation, and partially because I was there for it...you dog. i'm jealous.

I got tickets for game 7 of that round when the first 2 rounds went on sale, figuring maybe they'd play the wangs. got lucky with that. on the day of game 5, before heading to the memorial day party with the gf at the time, I was like no effin way we lose tonight and I'm off for game 6.... so I got tickets for that too.... needless to say, I enjoyed both thoroughly....🙂

anyone wanna guess at the first and second teams of the decade?
I'll try:
First team: Kane, Crosby, Ovi, Keith, Karlsson, Quick
Second team: Stamkos, Toews, Marleau, Burns, Doughty, Lundquist

the top forward group was pretty easy, imo. the top d, not so much. either goalie.... well, I dunno what the criteria is. Flower won 0 Cups last decade as the starter. Murray replaced him for almost their entire 2016 run and came in about halfway through the eastern finals in 2017 I believe. I can't put him in either slot for that reason. hell, if Cups are the main criteria, I would say Quick is the easy pick for 1st team and then you could just draw names from a hat for the second team.
as far as the d pairings, Keith absolutely has to be top pairing. 3 Cups, 2 Norris, 1 Conn Smythe. he should be a lock. went with Karlsson as the other d due to his multiple Norris wins. Chara won the award once, in 2009, so I can't put him in either group.
gonna be some competition for Toews at 2LC, but I gotta give it to him over Kopitar and Bergeron, more Cups and also Conn Smythe, although they both have more Selke awards. I can see Bergeron getting it for that reason, but I wouldn't agree with it.

I'm betting he is the 2lc now i was thinking that's why you left him off your team. i agree he belongs....highest points/game in the league since his first season in 15/16, and on some pretty bad teams.

hey I got some of em right, lol.
if I had known that you could pick any forward and not wing/center/wing, my picks would've been different. don't agree with Chara at all, his best years were in the decade before. otherwise I can't really disagree with any of the rest of the picks.

what did Flower look like compared to those 2? I am not a big fan of him making it either, tbh. I feel like his comeback season in Vegas lead to him being picked, but he won 0 Cups as the starter in the past decade...

yeah, his lack of success in the postseason is why he plays for Vegas now. I wouldn't have put him above either Quick or Lundqvist, personally.
edit: thanks for the leg work, btw. 🙂

I don't understand how Bowman and Colliton still have jobs? Wirtz needs to grow a pair and fire these guys.

I don't understand how Bowman and Colliton still have jobs? Wirtz needs to grow a pair and fire these guys. The date on this post should have been from 2011. It’s really too bad that he’s had this many gawd damn chances. I think he’ll last the year and they’ll both be shown to the “Iron Maiden”! EXCELLENT!!!

Hopefully with Bowman not using his cap space it means he was told not too and he had to wait and see how his team did, well they're 8pts out of a playoff spot right before the trade deadline.
Lets hope this is the end of the Bowman era in Chicago, seems like the perfect time to fire him and let Colliton go 🤞

Yotes and Jets play tonight on our off day,Wild plays tomorrow and of course we get the Preds.....these teams will also start playing each other most of the time soon so a few of em will see points every night. Will a Pred's loss tomorrow night be the deciding factor on selling, buying or standing pat? Do they know?

Lets hope this is the end of the Bowman era in Chicago, seems like the perfect time to fire him and let Colliton go 🤞 He may very well have handcuffs on. They probably gave him the year to put forth his team, and they won’t allow a total direction change, as that would be an organizational shift and not a Bowman shift. I think that’s most likely the case, and he struck out big time, it’s like the rest of the league are the Houston Astros and he can’t figure out how they’re hitting home runs!!!
