In 2009 Stan Mikita was signing autographs between periods and I brought the stub. He also had pictures of him and it happened to be a picture of him vs Russia. So I framed them together. So it's just one picture that contains both. |

Great memory from the game was the fact the ref was Russian and wouldn't call anything against his homeland team. Until finally in the 3rd period, the arm went up, and the crowd gave out a derisive cheer. Then this epic moment courtesy of Stan Mikita. As the ref skated over to the scorekeeper between the penalty box, where at that time he had to lean in to announce the penalty, Mikita skated to center ice and stood, waiting for the ref to turn back around. And as he did, Mikita dropped to his knees and bowed, and the crowd went wild! Possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen on the ice! |

Bowman now in desperation mode bringing in Dach and Boqvist to try and salvage his job. If it doesn't work this could finally be the nail in his coffin. That's a lot to put on 2 teenagers to save the franchise.

I’d have to think that the undynamic duo of Stan and JC are literally on their final lap here. If Q was let go November 6-7 last year, I don’t see how Stan gets much more. If this team falls apart like a Chinese motorcycle on this road trip, I think hi I they return home to a ticker tape parade and Stan and JC are gone. I believe that’s why he wants both here for this road trip, this is his last ditch effort!!! |

With Boqvist up,how can SB NOT move Gus? I know his value has probably dropped when you see his play so far but it'll absolutely 'flat-line' if he starts getting scratched. Not getting what he could after the outlier last year during last summer's FA frenzy was a big mistake.
Many pointed to the mistake on Q's part for not having Gus on the PP but you know what......Q doesn't play D-men who refuse to play defense. I ragged on Gus last year for constantly getting caught deep in the O-zone(in more ways that one!LOL!) but the system now finds him more in his own end yet he still covers no one.
Boqvist is probably better but the Joker was more ready...……….self inflicted wound there!

It would be more demoralizing to both Dach and Boqvist if theyre nit with the big club for reasons of cap and contract management. If they deserve to be up, then they deserve to be. Ice the best team, right? Players performing should be players playing. Speaking if which, toews is invisible again. Way to be a leader. Im starting to think hes a product of a team in front of him, not the elite player that hes known to be (like Kane and Hossa) |
