If I hadn’t watched him in the playoffs I would say this is a bit pricey. But he was a force.

Power, Fantilli, and Celebrini play(ed) there. it is one of the top jr programs in the US. I thought there were rules against this, tbh. it will be an asset in scouting American players for sure.

that's a pretty big gap.
i can't see him getting 8 million but close to 7 would be fair imo. he's the duckies' leading scorer over the last 2 years (60g, 68a in 145 games) and they've had him for a bargain at 1.45 million the last 3 seasons.
EDIT: actually...thinking about it a bit more i could see him getting closer to 8 million with the cap going up and all. managing almost .9 points/game over the last 2 seasons on one of the league's bottom feeders should count for something. maybe him and zegras sign matching contracts like kane and the captain.

Definitely a lowball offer from the Ducks. trevor zegras numbers over the last 2 years are nearly identical to troy terry's and i just noticed that zegras contract has to be renewed this year as well...so i guess maybe they're trying to get terry to sign low so they can more easily do the same with zegras.

pretty good deal for a 25 year old goalie who is possibly coming into his prime, although just 23 career starts before last season. 2nd in the league (minimum 25 games played) in both GAA (2.10) and save % (.931). owned a record of 22-9-7.
MAF on the other hand was 24-16-4, 2.86 and .908%. the GAA and save % were almost the same as when he was a blackhawk. one more year for him at 3.5 million, he'll end the season as a 39 year old.

Apparently Troy Terry signed a long term deal today - haven’t seen specific numbers though.

$7 is more reasonable than $8 (or $4.75) IMO.

Wow! With his age and injury history that's quite a risk IMO.

I thought the same thing. Brought to mind the Seabrook contract.

So Pittsburgh is not holding back which does square with re-signing Letang and Malkin.

I believe getting a 1st round pick and only retaining about $1.5M (4 years) for a player who no longer wants to be to be there is pretty good return. Hoffman and Grandlund will not be there when Sharks are relevant again. Still do not know how much Karlsson will help, his defensive metrics are not very great, suppose he will help drive offense and the power play should be fun to watch with Crosby and Malkin. I get it he is the best player in the trade by far, but does this put them over the top, I say no.

I have my doubts it works, but...

I think the Devils, Canes, Bolts and even the Rangers are better than the Pens. Young Sabres and Ottawa will be even better and knocking at a playoff berth. You still have the talented Leafs and Boston will not be an easy team to play every night and Red Wings will be improved.

Stalock to Anaheim 1yr/800k one-way contract.
Good for him, can be claimed if sent down also. Wouldnt mind him back here
