Jan Rutta is 33! Time flies. I would have said 28. . . .

I'm not convinced that the problem in toronto isn't the coaching but there'll be more time to decide at least. His 166-71-30 regular season record in 4 seasons is nothing to sneeze at i suppose.

Unnamed player of unknown origin scores a remarkable goal. I remember when I could never think of that let alone even try it.. 🤣😁 amazing talent these days. Of course there never will be another Bobby Orr..😉

Kessel wants to play next season saying he doesn't care if his iron man streak ends...i.e. he'd be okay being healthy scratched if need be.
Only played in 4 p/o games for vegas this year. His -7 in regular season tied for team worst.
No doubt somebody will take a flyer on him. Trouble is his numbers aren't top 6 on most teams and he sure as hell isn't a bottom sixer.
I hope KfC isn't tempted. I don't see why he would be tbh...not sure he'd be a sought after player to flip come playoffs.

Not a fan of ovi the person but at the same time i'm a big fan of players who've accomplished this stat as many times as him. Especially considering how big of a lead he's got on the other players in the field. He's a unique player, there's no denying that.

never could understand the thinking here but it seems it's more than just nashville doing it these days. in buffalo's case, pretty sure there are a lot of canadian hockey fans that make the trip. likely quite a few are sabre's fans, but i'm just speculating. anyways, when i finally own my own NHL team maybe i'll have a different perspective on things.

Heard a rumor William Nylander might be going to St Louis for Parayko, Neighbours, and a 1st. I'd rather face Nylander than Parayko.

i saw a tweet the other day that mentioned brandon hagel's takeaway numbers comparing the home and road totals. i can't find it but i believe the person was questioning how accurate home teams keep track of these numbers because hagel's takeaways per 60 minutes at home was tops in the league but on the road it was 42nd.
here's the top 8 in the league in takeaways/60 at home, with their corresponding road numbers and ranking. (minimum 30 games each home and road)
league rank at home away
1st brandon hagel 5.05 takeaways/60 42nd 2,23 takeaways/60 2nd mitch marner 4.15 5th 3.16 3rd nick paul 3.93 128th 1.70 4th eric bouchard 3.76 199th 1.43 5th jimmy vesey 3.74 31st 2.36 6th derek stepan 3.66 448th 0.56 7th jacob slavin 3.60 11th 2.73 8th robert thomas 3.56 55th 2.09
small sample size but everyone's home numbers are higher than their road numbers...in some cases they are dramatically higher. basically marner and slavin's numbers were close, the rest not so much.
i guess most stats for most players are better at home but i wonder if the home team gets favored by the people employed by the league to keep track of this stuff.
sorry...i was bored out of my tits today and needed a project.
edit: to take it a bit further, 25 of the nhl 32 teams have more takeaways at home then on the road so as expected it's a pretty normal thing.

I don't like them getting out from under that Parayko contract. if this comes to pass, hopefully Nylander gets 11 millions from em.

No Parayko would make things easier for Bedard in their O zone that’s for sure. Bad trade for the Blues so let ‘em make it.

Something strange going on here.
edit: he was the youngest member of his team in the game he did play so possibly it's just a case of breaking him in easy something like the kraken did with shane wright last year.

Great company with those 5. Just do not know if he will ever be a shutdown type dmen, he has the puck a lot though and gets a lot of his points on the power play I believe. Was hoping he would fall to Hawks in draft, but Vancouver took him at #7 and we took never mind.

Torey Krug sustained a right-foot injury while training for the upcoming season and will be re-evaluated on Oct. 1. There were reports Blues were still trying to move Krug after he vetoed the trade to Flyers.

Shane Wright gets an exemption to play in the AHL if he doesn't make Seattle.
If a CHL player is not 20 they can only play in the AHL if they played 4 seasons in the CHL, Shane missed it by one game last season, and his birthday is 5 days short of the cut off.

Unlikely - check this link, player is only 1 day over the cutoff age and played more games in junior than Wright www.prohockeyrumors.com/2023/09/matthew-savoie-unlikely-to-receive-chl-exemption-like-wright.html

Do the same rules apply to the WHL do we know? The WHL is part of the CHL I know we are hoping Korchinski plays so well in camp that he makes the team, but if not, does he fall into the same exemption as Wright and allowed to play in AHL?

Ya know...I'm not sure... www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=229107According to this, he did play 4 seasons in a CHL league. However, one of them was for one game. Not sure exactly what the rule wording is. Is one game enough to count? Usually the ambulance chasers who write the rules have finer details than "registered to play in 4 seasons".
