edit: looking at the list mr. veisor provided over in hawk talk, other former hawks include: nylander, jujhar khaira, matthew highmore, alec regula, wyatt kalynuk, nic beaudin, drake caggiula, josh bailey (technically) and john Hayden. Was not sure in which group to drop the link. Sounds like Kyle from Chicago's not biting on anyone so far.

Hartman signs 3 year deal @$4mm per year down from his $5.1 per year deal he’s on now. Mr. Veisor was scratching his head with his paddle, then checked CF: He was a 1.7m/yr on the 5.1m now expired 5.1m prior paper. He's up to 4m/year now with the Bowman-special: the NMC/M-NTC: www.capfriendly.com/players/ryan-hartman.

That was a clean hit, but surprised no one at least got in Oshie's face after it.
no kidding. bedard's time is coming, i hope there's lot more reaction from the hawks than there was from the jackets. I'd hope either someone comes and pounds the guy who runs Bedard, or if it's like Kane's case, after he's put ass-over-teakettle inot the bench, he pops up with a smile on his face.

Everybody (players, general managers and agents) knows cap is going up so, pretty soon $6M or $7M will be the norm for decent players.

a dozen players who have signed PTOs are still with their big clubs.
ex blackhawk goalie dylan wells is one of them.
he played for 4 teams last season (rockford, one period in chicago, texas (ahl) and the idaho steelheads (echl)).
good for him. to say he'd be a longshot at the start of a nhl training camp would be an understatement.

trying not to sound bitter and jealous because i'm not, but while these rings are indeed beautiful works of art, they are also getting comically big.
cool feature is there's room for a cyanide pill in case you're traded to st. loo.

I mentioned this veteran last summer as a 'TRUE' 4th line tough guy capable of demanding an answer from any opponent taking liberties with a teammate..... www.hockeyfights.com/players/10145Austin Watson has 'dropped em' 61 times during his NHL career, encluding 13 times last year and 3 times already in the PS........HE'S READY TO GO! Of his 9 goals last year,THREE came on the PK,which he is VERY good at.......as he is pounding lumps on troublemakers. Tampa Bay signed him for league minimum after a PTO but no interest in Chicago? Not fast enough? He'd offer 10X the deterrent factor than 'cheap-shot then turtle' Katy Perry ever will for 4M!

sabres not wasting time locking up both of their #1 overall defensemen. edit: kind've similar to what ottawa is doing.

As I mentioned before, that's the way the market is heading: Bridge deals for the top echelon players are going away and they're making their money on their second contract. It's not surprising but that means GMs have to be really savvy about what kids they keep. Ottawa/Buffalo haven't seen much success and they're banking on certain p;ayers to get them over the hump. That can go sideways fast. After all, look how good it's worked for Edmonton.

Don’t see Shane Wright listed on Seattle’s starting roster. Kind of surprised he still isn’t NHL ready - or maybe he’s injured.

Sens and Sabers both wrap-up their good, young players for MAX $$$ and term and the Ducks ground both of theirs into submission. Sanderson had a solid 4/32 debut @20 and Power also had a nice 4/35 debut himself @20 and they saw max deals for 8 and 8.3M respectively.
Jamie Drysdale also had a solid 4/32 debut @20 but missed almost all of last year due to injury and has to hold-out to get 2.3MX3? Zegras had to hold-out to get his 5.75MX3 bridge deal too. Sharp contrast to how many other teams have dealt with their best, young players and not much of a commitment, but then again....they're not Verbeek's guys I guess.
