Unacceptable. Just request a trade. This is much worse than Lindros. Keith Jones and Danny Briere seem like top notch dudes. Torts won’t be there forever, and to not even talk to them sounds like he has a gawd dam drug problem. I mean, doesn’t he even have an agent to speak through? I just don’t think draft picks should justify where they play. Never burn a bridge. Let’s say in 8-9 years from now he’s a free agent and Philly is a contender. With cap space. Just stupid. The way 5-6 of those kids acted the WJC was unclassy. He was definitely one of them. Hopefully he can get this behind him and move on. As for the Ducks. Bad move. Reminds me of Montreal trading Sergachev for Drouin. I know they’ve got a few good Dmen in the system. But Drysdale could easily become a #1 dman. He’s a stud!!! The kids went a bit overboard T, but they are just kids and I don't know what's overboard anymore myself to be honest. I guess there's more to that rivalry than meets the eye, I coulda done w/o a lot of the showboating too but I do w/o more and more these days with our youth. I agree as far as the trade though, the BALLS on that kid! Verbeek ground Drysdale close to the point of holding-out before he signed a very reasonable 2.3MX3 bridge deal that keeps him a RFA at it's end, that wasn't a vote of confidence after Power and Sanderson got 8MX8 after one good season of their own at the same age. This goes to show us that teams WILL part with good young players and do it regularly. Shane Pinto comes off suspension soon(Ottawa's played 35gms),they still don't have the cap-space and they're going in the wrong direction. He'll need a change of scenery........pursue this player! Verbeek did the same with Zegras taking less in a bridge deal. Z might be the next one to go if Gauthier live up to his potential

Crazy trade. CG didnt want to be a Flyer so much that he wasnt talking to them. A Flyer rep had to fly to the Worlds to get in touch with him Have to ask if Davidson was looking at Drysdale, right-handed D, reports say Flyers were working on this for months and have to assume it was known that both players were available. Would Tampa's #1 this year assuming it was not in top ten been enough, or too much? Would we had to include a prospect? Maybe Mishcov might not want to sign, although that is complicated with his deal in the KHL.

Man - red hot Canucks! Third game in 4 nights and on the cusp of taking 6 points by sweeping the 3 NYC teams on the road.

Verbeek did the same with Zegras taking less in a bridge deal. Z might be the next one to go if Gauthier live up to his potential This report just came out “ After moving out Jamie Drysdale, some are wondering if Ducks GM Pat Verbeek might have another big move up his sleeve. To that end, Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reports that Verbeek has discussed center Trevor Zegras with teams this season although it’s not known how far those discussions advanced. After a tough contract negotiation that eventually yielded a three-year bridge deal with a $5.75MM cap hit, things have not gone well for the 22-year-old. Injuries have limited him to 19 games heading into tonight’s action while he has struggled offensively with just four goals and three assists. Unfortunately for Zegras and Anaheim, he suffered a lower-body injury during tonight’s game against Nashville in the first period and did not return. Any extended absence could put the idea of a possible trade on hold fairly quickly.” Im not sure, but Verbeen didnt draft Drysdale or Zegras, right?

It could be they're from the last regime or it could be the desired style of play in Anaheim. I caught the Wings/Ducks game Sunday and the Ducks lead the league in penalties for a reason and the 'Little ball of hate' brought-in Gudas and Kilorn for the same reason. They also claimed wingers Ross Johnson(6'5" 234lbs) and Brett Laeson(6'5" 218lbs) off waivers for a reason.........Ross Johnson has 2pts and 53pims in 29gms.

Good for Fonzy. Gotta love how he sticks up for players past or present. He’s awesome. I’m sure he’s hard to play for. But he’ll have your back!!!

Can’t say I’m proud of this feeling but I kinda hope Cutter Gauthier struggles in the NHL.

Can’t say I’m proud of this feeling but I kinda hope Cutter Gauthier struggles in the NHL. I might feel the same way if I was a Flyers fan,but even then,I'd have to remember trading for a great, young player who didn't want to play for the team that drafted him back in '92'. Things worked-out okay for Lindros, but they worked-out even better for one of the players Philly included in the trade with Quebec. 'Peter the Great' went on to a 19 year, HoF career, winning two cups and FOUR Gold medals with Sweeden, this member of the vaunted 'Tripple Gold Club' (Wrld Champs,Wntr Olymics,Stnly Cup)is the only Sweed to have won all three competitions twice.

Big road win for the Wings to go 6-1-1 in their last eight and put themselves back in the hunt, they've really tightened things up defensively.

I’m hoping for Kaner to be ok. I really wanna see him break the record. He’s still kinda got time on his side. But Father Time is still undefeated. I can see Kane having a couple more good year. And putting himself within range of the record. 121 back. It old be nice to see him around 80 points back going into next year. At that point it should be within striking distance next season!!!

bit of a blow to the avs. nichushkin was 22g, 20a in 40 games this year and +8 was second best among fwds. still plenty of time to the playoffs so good chance he's back by then. you may this remember from last year's playoffs. he only played in 2 playoff games last year. seems there could've been problems with him then. A woman was found so intoxicated in Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin’s hotel room Saturday that a team doctor called for an ambulance to take her to a hospital, according to a Seattle Police Department report obtained Thursday by The Denver Post. Nichushkin did not play that night in Game 3 of the Avalanche’s first-round playoff series against the Kraken — and hasn’t appeared with the team since then. When contacted by The Post late Thursday afternoon, a team spokesman declined to comment on whether or not Nichuskin’s absence is connected to the incident but did confirm he is currently not with the team.www.denverpost.com/2023/04/27/valeri-nichushkin-seattle-incident-police-medical-response/

bit of a strange coaching move to do in the 1st period i reckon.

congrats to MAF for moving into 2nd all time in wins with 552 in game number 1007. listening to friedman's podcast they made a good point. there's an excellent chance that MAF is the last nhl goalie to play 1,000 games. i mean, there's only 4 now in the entire history of the league (brodeur, 7uongo, roy and MAF) so it's not a shocking thing to say. especially when you look down the list at the active goalies. next is quick with 768 games and he'll be 39 in 5 days. craig anderson at 709 games at 42 years. bobrovsky's only 35 but he's a ways down at 674 games. the further you go down the list, the more improbable it becomes...unless glenn hall's great-grandson emerges on the scene one day. www.hockey-reference.com/leaders/games_goalie_career.html

The Winnipeg Jets allowed 2 goals or less for the THIRTEEHTN consecutive game tonight! GOOD LUCK!!! they haven't allowed more than 3 goals in a game since a 2-5 loss in vegas way back on november 2nd. since then, they've gone 25-6-2. that's a shiny .788 points percentage. crazy.

hagel still good value despite a recent 18 game goal-less drought. not surprisingly he's scored 3 in his last 5 games, so it appears he's well out of that funk he was in.

hagel still good value despite a recent 18 game goal-less drought. not surprisingly he's scored 3 in his last 5 games, so it appears he's well out of that funk he was in. Two of the biggest differences this year are,few top-line minutes unlike last year with Kuch/Point and Stamkos together most of the time and Paul's seen his #1PP unit minutes this year too. Coop might be as happy with the guy as ever though despite his 24gl pace,he brings tenacity on the fore-check,rarely misses a game(1 last year and none so far),is happy to play on any line and plays a valuable defensive/PK role. TB has the 25yro wrapped-up for seven more after this year @6.5M, I was surprised when I just checked,I thought they went shorter on his extension. Nice reward for a hard-working MF'er! They also had him for 1.5M for two and a half years.

is it me? or does makar not get enough recognition.
maybe because he isn't that flashy, just goes about his business and racks up points.
if it was me, i'd sooner tie orr's record than beat it so i hope that's what happens tonight.

shades of savard alright, just the other side of the ice. man...that tippet's got some wheels. Florida traded that kid along with a 1st and a 3rd for 18 regular season and 10 PO game's worth of 34yro Claude Giroux with zero intentions of re-signing him. Giroux did have 23pts in those 18 games to help em win the President's trophy and 8 more in the PO's to help em win their first series in forever but at what price? Flyers outshot the Stars 43-15 tonight!
