lindholm's about 15 months older but i agree...the canucks see him as something that fills a need of their's. i think they overpaid (my opinion) because of that, same as teams do every year when they think they can make a run but still have perceived needs.

he definitely checks a lot of boxes for the nucks and will be worth the trade IF they can hoist the Cup in June. if not, then I would agree that Calgary got the better end of that trade, especially if he signs elsewhere next summer. Pettersson and Hronek will need new deals this summer as well, but moving Kuzmenko should maybe give them the space to keep Lindholm as well. maybe.

lololol.... I cannot believe someone gave the Habs a first for Monahan...
time for KD to start shopping Mrazek and Tyler Johnson if teams are willing to spend that much on oft injured players...

There should really be a break in trading during this time. Guys are all in Mexico on a beach and they have to come home early to Grab their shit and move. They should have to wait to announce it when the break is done. Players are off for 10 days!!!

McClelland has also had great teams. And has made none of them relevant. He’s “just a coach”.
He seems like the guy that’ll never get another HC job!!!

man, how many times has that guy been fired? two firings and one "mutually parted ways". his 598 wins ranks 23rd all time, his 1144 games coached is 24th. 42 wins, 46 losses in 88 playoff games. losing in the conference finals (twice) was as far as he made it in 9 trips to the playoffs as a coach.

i can understand that some of these guys would rather be elsewhere and i understand that kucherov might march to a different beat than most, but ffs man...at least try. you got a rink full of hockey fans and kids watching. i'd boo his sorry ass too. i was away from the house so never saw any of it, not that i would have watched if i was home. i hope whoever his coach is benches that doofus or just sends him to shower and go home if he gives an effort like that tomorrow in the ASG.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are committing more time and energy to forward Jesse Puljujarvi. The Penguins signed the former first-round NHL draft pick to a two-year deal, per the team's social media. The two-year contract runs through the end of the 2024-25 season and carries an average annual salary of $800,000.
These are the type of deals KD should be looking at.

Just embarrassing to put on that type of effort. Why not say I am not participating and let someone else have the honor and pride to put on something that fans will enjoy and appreciate. Maybe you have to participate, not 100% sure. This guy is one of the leaders for the Hart trophy, I am sure the NHL and Bettman are really happy that this is supposed to be one of your stars.

Ya, the Caps don’t have much to cheer for. Waiting on OV to break a record doesn’t look promising at this point. He getting nothing but older. He looks slow, and uninspired. 894-827=67. Don’t think he gets anywhere near that.
Even Kuznetzov has looked uninspired over the last couple years. It’s time to rebuild there. And not let OVs record chase ruin the development of kids coming in. Can’t play the shit out of OV and let kids sit on the bench!!!

Looks like DJ Smith will more than likely get a shot at coaching the kings. He was hired to be an assistant there. I don’t think he’ll remain an assistant. Good for him to land on his feet this quickly!!!

I didn't know a guy could go into the Player Assistance Program for a sprained taint! This BUM bitched about Laviolette being too demanding last year and publicly asked to be traded after a team worst -26 season. The Caps messed-up by not granting his wish! Even Strome, who isn't the league's best skater or defender thrived under Laviolette. Fast forward to this year, the BUM gets his wish with a new HC instead of getting moved,Backstrom out for the year(or for good)and this BUM goes to shit again for his new HC? Other than a stellar Cup-run back in '18',all this BUM's ever done in Washington to get that 7.8MX8 contract was a shit-ton of secondary PP assists to pad his numbers,he's 44% at the dot for his career.....can't pad that. His last year of that 7.8M deal includes a 2M signing bonus,so even a buy-out next year leaves the team with a 3.8M cap hit next year and 2M the year after. Makes a guy wonder if the Caps can now terminate this contract and why Corey Perry wasn't allowed to enter 'the program' himself while getting paid if he was "struggling with alcohol".

I believe I've mentioned this before, but Ovi strikes me as having the same mindset as Emmitt Smith. he isn't going to retire until he gets the record, despite not being as good as the guy who's record he is determined to break...

oiler's streak ends at 16 wins, vegas beats them 3-1. 2nd longest winning streak in nhl history.
helluva' game. that'd be a dandy playoff series.
perry's first game, zero's across the board except for 1 hit in 12:35 minutes of ice time.

I just don’t believe he gets the record. In 2 years time he’ll be a corpse out there. Even next season, he may only garner 10 goals. Or less. Not many 39 year olds put up big numbers. And next season when he’s 39. I doubt he gets her back. He’s all but done. Unless he wants to play as long as Jagr, I don’t see a record in his future. That team is shit and won’t be better anytime soon!!!

Thank you Vegas, even though I can't stand them either. But Oiler fans were becoming unbearable, they said they were going to get the record. I still cant believe their Jan schedule, they played every Tues, Thurs, and Sat, zero back to back games and most games on their win streak were against non playoff teams and the playoff teams they played were playing their 3rd in 4 nights.

I was thinking last night, while watching this game, that I REALLY hope the 'nucks win that division so we can see this matchup right off the bat this spring. if I were an Oil fan, I'd be wanting the same thing. beating the "VGK" (as the annoucer kept calling them last night) to get the playoffs started could be a huge momentum boost for Edmonton..
