So Landeskog's timeline to return is mid-September to April...that's pretty rough for Colorado. If he can't return until April, he's going to essentially be out for 2 straight years.

not sure where this convo was happening at around here, but Malhotra is signed as the new Canucks AHL affiliate's head man, replacing Colliton.
apparently negotiations were still ongoing with Colliton, but the nucks went elsewhere with "differing price points" being the main issue.
I guess Colliton did well there prepping their young guys for the League. i guess maybe this wasn't the time to demand more money, though...

Another recycled coaching hire. he has pretty strong ties to winnipeg. played 6 seasons for the jets. as well he played for the manitoba moose 3 years and coached them for another 4 years. and he actually lives in winnipeg in the off season. he hasn't been a head coach since the 11/12 season and in his career only has 123 nhl games head coaching under his belt.

funny thing about colliton...his first year in abbotsford he had a 40-25-7 record and lost in the semifinals. his second year in abbotsford, he had a 40-25-7 record and lost in the semifinals.
weird, wild stuff.
anyways...i have my doubts another nhl club would give him a shot but who knows? maybe he goes back to sweden.

Interesting. I read some speculation that Waddell have been “underpaid” in his job and when he asked for a raise, the owner (Dundon) told him to check out the market for a GM and how much the competition would be willing to pay him. Hence the reports of him being allowed to interview with other teams. Either or neither, but whatever it is, there is a conflict between him and the powers above him

“ The team (Vegas) has informed forwards Michael Amadio, William Carrier and Anthony Mantha that they won’t be offered extensions before July 1, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reported yesterday. All three will hit the UFA market.”
Still trying to fit in Marchy and Stephens
Any interest on the three? All servicable depth pieces

Such a highly touted prospect. Caps gave up 3 first round picks to get him and then gave him for close to nothing to Vegas who is not extending him. Big skilled winger. I'd go after him.

While Senators surely not looking to move Brady Tkachuk, rumblings starting if team does not look to improve here quickly, he might try and force a trade.

I don't know what he'd cost though, might be too steep. I don't blame him for wanting out of Ottawa. It's ironic, his trajectory is the same as his brother's: get drafted first round to a Canadian team (also, like their father), play there 6 years, then force a trade.

They will take 70% of your money. The debt is ridiculous. The government in power has destroyed this place. Anyways. You’re gonna see most players not want to play here. I feel Tkachuk will want out within a year. They’ll miss the playoffs and say he’s had enough. I’m not sure the Hawks have enough to give. As I feel it’ll be a lateral move. They’ll want an equal type player in return!!!

Sure seems like Necas rights will be traded (probably before at draft night) and there are plenty of teams interested.

not "official" yet, but he says he's played his last game.
most playoff games played (201) by any nhler without winning a cup. he passed marleau, thornton and dale hunter this year.
75 million in career earnings, yet his biggest contract was just 7 million.

Wow, didn't realize his biggest contract was just 7 million. Nice find. I was never the biggest fan of Pavelski, I always viewed him as sneaky-dirty, but the guy could play.

“ According to TSN’s Pierre LeBrun, Deputy Commissioner of the NHL, Bill Daly, has begun taking calls from numerous General Managers across the league regarding LTIR usage around the salary cap in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Unlikely to be resolved before the end of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement between the league and the NHLPA, it is most likely an issue that will be debated over the next rendition of the CBA. “

If they move Norris somehow, someway Pinto stays I read that theyre shopping Mathieu Joseph hard and could be move for picks during the draft. Also, letting Kubalik walk would open up enough space to sign Pinto at 4-5mil range. ^ im not sure how accurate that is, i dont follow their salary cap But yea, it doesnt solve their “too many centers” problem Joseph is actually a very servicable depth player for his caphit. Id take him if he comes with a draft pick and +

Id take him if he comes with a draft pick and + Losing Joseph and Kubalik's(both wingers) 5.1M would help but it also opens two holes in a roster which would then have only eight forwards under contract.....including Norris. Six of em listed as centers....seven of nine if they re-do Pinto. Tkachuk's really a center too. New ownership doesn't look patient and they've stated a need for change. They want a scoring winger, they want to improve a D-group that's already making over 27M and a GT tandem already making 6.75M. Maybe they've seen enough from Pinto to justify painfully cutting ties with 25yro Norris, who knows and maybe they move Chychrun for a big return but he'll leave a hole too. In any event,I still think 25yro 6'4" 226lb center Kastelic could be had for a song and I'd sing that song to the tune of a 3rd or 4th because he's a big, young, badass with room to improve and we have few of them......none really.
