Matthews should have been the captain from the start. But we're not in the locker room to see who the "leader" is.

Makes you wonder if other GM don't really like Stan. Seems like the Blews are kind of sticking it to him right off the bat.

Makes you wonder if other GM don't really like Stan. Seems like the Blews are kind of sticking it to him right off the bat. Both players have basically one full season under their belt so a pretty decent raise for both. Oilers slow brewed the both of them so long that, especially in Broberg's case, you certainly can't blame them. Compensation isn't much... Dylan Holloway: Two years at $2,290,457 annually. Compensation is a third-round pick. Philip Broberg: Two years at $4,580,917 annually. Compensation is a second-round pick

wow. nice dick move by the blows, I hope the Oil keep both. f st louis. edit: lol... reading some more on this move was funny. the blows offered one dollar below the salary for the next tier for both players and, obviously, they both accepted. this has got to be a similar move to the sharks doing this with Hammer and Niemi after 2010. I wonder which one Bowman picks this time? I'm guessing Holloway stays and they let Broberg walk, or maybe I hope that is what happens. Broberg for that much money is a massive over pay for the blows (unless he finally starts to play like a first round pick).

on a separate note, it seems like the Oil are ripe for a salary dump right now...

Blues did their homework yeah, with Draisaitl and Bouchard up next summer, the Oil are in a tough spot. I think they can swing Holloway, though. pretty Broberg is who the blows are after here, thus the huge overpay for him.

on a separate note, it seems like the Oil are ripe for a salary dump right now... Kane will start the year on LTIR giving them some wiggle room. His NTC opens up later this year, he’d be the one to move if that’s possible.

I can't stand either team so I love this, especially knowing it's Bowmans first big decision in Edmonton. And the $1 thing is smart. A second and third isn't much considering they're first round picks who just started their careers.

Broberg already asked out, take the second and let him go at that price.

I’ve said for many years. Scambo is hated amongst the league. I know people that work within the NHL and are laughing their collective asses off at this. Scambo will fail miserably there just watch!!!

Scambo will fail miserably there just watch!!! Did anybody see DUMBASS getting a job before Q after both were reinstated? Did anybody see him ever getting another GM job? I thought McJesus got his guy when the Oil hired his former agent Jeff Jackson for the GM spot,I wonder how moving him upstairs and bringing in DUMBASS sits with him. WTF do they possibly see in DUMBASS' past that makes him a must hire?

Matthews should have been the captain from the start. But we're not in the locker room to see who the "leader" is. Not sure what more a guy can do other than winning 'Richard' trophies,53% of his draws and a Selke finalist last year too other than a bit more snarl maybe.

I think now that another elder statesman of the GM world has done this again to Scambo, it speaks volumes. Oh well. I’m thought both those young players were really coming around. Looked good in the playoffs. I find it funny that it’s happened to Scambo twice. Usually it’s just payback or a one time deal. But nope, Scambo gets crushed again. Hahahaha!!!

Oil in a bad way they wiil have to give a nice sweetener for Kane. The whole fan base will want Nurses head. Disfunction on both sides love it.

Fans here in Edmonton are pretty dumb, they think Stan was the reason Chicago won their Cups and it seems like most fans think Chicago won 2, I've corrected many people and said 3 and most didn't believe me. Edmonton fans are in their own little world.

my memories shit but i don't recall getzlaf being that dirty of a player. i used to hate the duckies but i don't recall pointing any of that hate at getzlaf but again...shit memory. anyways...not often these days where a guy has all of his 1157 games with one team in this league. i like that.

maybe he will get his boy Perry to join him, if he ever retires. Corey Perry signed a 1 year , $1,150,000 contract with the Edmonton Oilers, including $1,150,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,150,000. In 2024-25, Perry will earn a base salary of $1,150,000, while carrying a cap hit of $1,150,000.

Many don’t realize what he did in Chicago was tax the hell out of his core group. I really believe with better management, the Hawks could’ve had 2 more cups. Easily. But Scambo was worried about being the smartest guy in the room. He was awful at best. He had maybe 2-3 moves that actually worked. Oduya was the best he ever did. I even think without Vermette, Hawks still win. And maybe easier. I thought Vermette was on his last skate blade and could barely do much. Anyways. His moves will freak out the Oilers faithful real real quick!!!

definitely a lock for the bill masterton trophy if he succeeds. hasn't skated in a game since lifting the cup on june 26th, 2022.
cartilage transplant in his right knee. amazing how that kind of operation could even be done. makes me wish bobby orr had access to today's medicine when he was playing.
anyways, unless you are mortal enemies with the avalanche it's hard to imagine any hockey fans not rooting for landeskog to return next year.
