avs took a hit tonight. grubauer left with a LBI....it's presumed he's re-injured his groin, an injury he just returned from. even worse, cale makar got knocked out of the game by a hard hit from marchand. (clean, imho) this is the best replay i can find. kudos to makar, if you watch it far enough into the video you'll see he saw that marchand was coming but he didn't bail out. hard to tell what the injury is.i'd guess neck or shoulder. www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/cale-makar-leaves-game-hit-brad-marchand/Looked like his left shoulder to me. vadar up above said makar's coach said he was under concussion protocol to maybe it was his noggin. could've been a combination of injuries actually. i hope he's okay. if the avs were closer in the standings i likely wouldn't say that. |

Looked like his left shoulder to me. welp, after rereading the initial report, it wasn't actually Bednar that said he was in the protocol, it was just a guess that he might be by a reporter. I saw him shake his head a bit, but I also saw him droop his left shoulder down too. |

Oh, do you mean facts like the Blues having Steen and Tarasenko missing? Yes, you can tell me that they had all their dmen so the Hawks are excused from scoring, but then how did the Blues score without Steen and Tarasenko? C'mon, GT, there is something very wrong with this version of the Hawks' team. It is obvious when one just watches the games and observes the two sides and how each controls the game and responds to the other. I'd like to see them do better, but when they don't, I am not going to hesitate pointing out that they suck. I know you are the constant optimist and that is great, but if it is unfair for me to point out that they are not playing well, then what is the point of a board where all opinions are welcome. Do I criticize you for being the unstoppable optimist? No, and that is fine with me, if you are, so chill a little about my posts. do whatever you like....it's a message board, you're allowed that. i just commented that if you feel the need to dwell on how shorthanded other teams are, you could also mention the starters we're missing as well. unstoppable optimist? not really, but i try. i just appreciate facts over slants. The Hawks started a three game slide for the Bruins, who have now lost to the Hawks, the Avs and tonight, The Mighty Senators. Pretty weird that they would lose to the Hawks and the Sens.

The Hawks started a three game slide for the Bruins, who have now lost to the Hawks, the Avs and tonight, The Mighty Senators. Pretty weird that they would lose to the Hawks and the Sens. the bruins had bergeron back as well but they couldn't overcome duclair's (the computer killer) 13th and 14th goals. |

Right, can't blame any Hawk management type for giving up on him. But, still interesting to see that he might be "finding his groove". I usually figure that if a guy doesn't fulfill his promise in some reasonable way in his early 20s (ala Nylander), he will never really do well in the NHL. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens with Duclair. |

I know Boogie, many who know him expected him to take over there. Deboer is a solid coach and it was just time for him to go. I’d take Deboer in a western minute. He’s also a former Spitfire too. Nice to see Boogie get another shot!!!

btw....i love it when 2 combatants lock up and there's an "explosion" of hockey gloves just prior to punches thrown like in this fight.
anyways....chara just overpowers maroon in this one, same as wilson the night before.

a game in the OHL was cancelled after the goalie was run into and his leg was cut.
one guy tweeted there was an "indescribable amount of blood on the ice."
hope he's okay.
edit: update. good news i reckon.
dbl edit: he's likely down a quart but good news to read.
