first time for me. at least they never gave up a PPG. not much longer for Brunette, imo.

Bruins ran out of patience with Montgomery which seems a bit premature although their PP is dead last so far this season

quick didn't play against him but still a pretty cool thing to do so major kudos to him.
wolf stopped 27 of 29 in the flames' win.
flames sitting at 5th in the western conference (in points percentage).

Drew Bannister departs St. Louis with one of the shortest runs ever for a full-time (non-interim) head coach in #NHL at just 22 games.
Tough business.

UNREAL STORY: MN native Travis Boyd will never forget his #mnwild debut. Got into arena at 1:05 for 1:28 warmups. Landed at noon, because of the snowstorm and fan traffic to Saddledome, Boyd and team services manager Dom Hennig jumped out of car and ran last few blocks to arena.
"Dom was carrying my sticks for me, I was running through the snowy stuff in a suit and dress shoes on with a bag on my back. It’s funny looking back on it now It’s childhood dream stuff."

I agree that at some point the Hawks gotta make a move. But I’m not sold on Montgomery. Hawks will need a coach to get the kids developed. Luke was basically the one to be here for the tear down. This is why he may have to stay till years end. Unless there’s a great development coach ready to come in. But I don’t think the Hawks will spend money at this point to pay a guy, and to pay a guy to go away!!!

I know the brass wants to hold onto their money for another season, but at some point they have to recognize they are losing money in the long run if 98 and his merry band of prospects aren't developed properly and right now The Chosen One looks like hed rather be just about anywhere else...

6-1 tampa over the avs late in the second. hagel has 4 primary assists and 1 secondary.
boy...do the avs ever need goaltending.
i wish brossoit was back already and playing. go with him and soderblom and see what we could get for mrazek. if not enough, then ask edmonton.

they should've tacked on another 3 minutes to the minor just for the sheer stupidity of it.

hip related? i hope not, but PKs been in a nasty slump lately. pointless in his last 5 games and just 1g and 4a in his last 13.
too lazy to check but i highly doubt he's been a slump like that in his nhl career.
his shooting % this year (7.5%) is the lowest of his career while his last year's shooting % (13.6%) as the 4th highest of his career.
on a sidenote there's rumblings Q and kane will be reunited in detroit.

They gotta do something in Detroit. They’ve slithered their way to the dreaded middle of the pack. I think Yzerman has to do something here to get them in a better position. This is exactly what I fear is gonna happen in Chicago. I for one hope Q gets another shot. I think it’d be great for him to coach in Detroit, pretty much his home town!!!

Can't disagree about the middle of the pack ,but that's pretty much where they were last year too before a solid 2nd half that saw em lose a spot to a tie-braker. Middle of the pack can be problematic if rebuilding teams remain there for too long but Detroit only became a middle of the pack team last year........regression this year would also be problematic though. We have to remember that Detroit's still at the end-phase of their rebuild, not the finish yet because of the number of young players in their line-up with more becoming ready. Forwards Kasper(20),Raymond(22), Berggren(24),Velano(24) and Rasmussen(25) 'could' become a nice, young core with D-Cat(26) and Larkin(28). 22yro Mazur is waiting his chance after an impressive camp and PS and they have two 1st round forwards(19&20) in the system. D-men Seider(23) and Edvinsson(21) have been the twin-towers for the Wings, seeing the toughest assignments and the two highest TOI totals on the team. The top-pair has a combined 22pts,a +8 and a shit-ton of snarl. Johansson has also seen 11 starts @23 this year. Sandin-Pellikka was a #17 OA back in '23',he's been the best or one of the best D-men in every tourney I've seen and he has 6gls/18pts +6 through 21gms against men in Sweden so far.....@19. They also have another three 2nd round D-men in the system(21-23) awaiting their chances. They also have two very promising GT's taken in the 1st and 2nd round. And you know what T? None of that means shit unless they're developed correctly and surrounded with the proper support! We've seen many teams draft well with little to show for it.

I gotta say, as much as I could do without any more former 'hawks heading to the d (and also could do without them ever having a good head man, cuz fuck detroit), it would be objectively hilarious for the wangs to hire Q after all the shit I've heard from wangs fans about Beach and those involved...

They gotta do something in Detroit. They’ve slithered their way to the dreaded middle of the pack. i suppose they qualify, but middle of the pack is pretty generous. they're 24th in the league in both points and points percentage. hell, they've played the same number of games as us and are only up 4 points. and their goal differential is at -12 while ours is just 1 worse at -13. if i had to bet, i'd put my money on lalonde being the next HC axed. as was said, he's got a decent team to coach. edit: if they fire lalonde, it might light a fire under luke's ass. their first head coaching gigs they both started coaching similar teams in a rebuild, started coaching the same season and to date each have head coached 185 nhl games. can't get much more similar than that except lalonde's record is quite a bit better. lalonde's record is .516% while luke's is .343 www.hockey-reference.com/coaches/NHL_stats.html

not the flashiest numbers. before tonight's game, he was 2.74 and .901%. he'd be 3rd on the blackhawk's in both departments.
but he's getting it done in VCR, so congrats to the guy.

he was tied at 9 wins with cam talbot and the great glenn hall. kevin lankinen - road warrior. I was shocked at the lack of interest in the guy last summer to be honest,I know he only saw 35 starts the last two years behind the workhorse Saros but he won 20 of those starts with good numbers along the way. I would say kudos to Vancouver for spotting a player in need of nothing more than opportunity and a bigger role,BUT Vancouver is lucky to end-up with him after grinding the F out of him and signing him for nothing right before camp opened. NO other team had ANY interest at THAT price? 'Lanks' had a solid 17-14-5 rookie debut for the Hawks with a .909SV% at @24 but regressed on a bad team the following year and he was another young player(25's young for a GT)who was just kicked to the curb to develop further on a better team with better coaching.
