Gonna settle in to watch the B's out in Colorado and four games in finds my boy Mark Kastelic with 2gls,tied for his team's lead with 5pts,2nd on his team with a +5,leading in hits with 20 and winning 58.6% of his draws.........with 11:20 of average TOI! And his only 5 PIM's came from a game 1 fight.
11:20 is still 3-4 minutes more than the poor bastard saw in Ottawa.

I have this sinking feeling that Demidov is a generational type player. We’ll see real soon what Levshunov brings. I know he’s young, but he’s gotta show something outta the gate. If he comes out and struggles for some time. The vultures will close in. Let’s hope he doesn’t look awful!!! we'll see. KfC obviously thought a lot about demidov at the draft. but we already have our quota of generational forwards. about levshunov...oh man i hope the vultures stay away. 5g-4a in 16gms, not generational numbers, I'm just glad he didn't go 3rd overall.

You know as well as everyone else, the young kids get very minimal ice time in the KHL. It’s just the way she goes. If his minutes were doubled. You’d see close to double the points. He’s also just 18 playing against men. No one said he was NHL ready right now!!!

The Avs are missing a few pieces but they looked the part of a fragile 0-3 team, soon to be 0-4 at home last night. I thought Landeskog was ready after skating this summer but I guess not since he's still shown on LTIR and I don't know what's up with Nichuskin's suspension. Can the team ever get back to a real cup contender again with these two scenarios remaining question marks. Both plyers were a big part of their cup win with a combined 13M+ AAV if and when they return too.....5yrs left on Landeskog's deal and SIX on Nichuskin's!
Enjoyed listening to Edzo again and Boston's 4th line was the hot topic.my boy Kastelic's finally seein' some TOI(16:21 last night) and responded with a +3 and 6 for 8 at the dot. He didn't hit the scoresheet but how TF he doesn't get the helper on Lindholm's goal after beating everyone to the puck behind the net and throwing it out to him.

k. dach off to a rough start. just 1 assist (on the PP) in 5 games and he's a team worst -7. 35% at the dot but he's only taken 20 faceoffs.

Surely not the start Kirby, Habs and their fans were hoping for. On the other side, the guy missed like 1000 games in the last 3 years where he was supposed to further develop. I could see he's being very cautios in these first games not to get injured. Once he'll get to it, I'm sure points will start piling up. He surely has the skill and the top6 in Montreal is not that bad either.

The Preds are supposed to be the most improved team yet they lost 4-2 to Edmonton. You know things are bad when Kulak scored twice.

His 1 assist was his 100th point...in 217gms, and his faceoffs are still terrible. Not good for a 3rd overall pick. 5 seasons at 82gms a season is 410gms, he's missed almost half.

You don't pop in a broken finger. I've dislocated fingers in fights and sports, just pull it forward and put it back in like he did. Ice it after.

i reckon when the canucks signed lankinen, he was meant to be silov's b/u until demko came back
anyways...after his 3 games, lankinen's 2-0-1, .953% and 1.28 gaa with a shutout.
meanwhile, after his 2 games, silov's at 0-1-1, .827% and 4.50 gaa.
so i'd say we'll get to see KL the next game when the canucks are in town.
i'm happy for his success because he's a likeable guy but i hope he blows a tire or 2 against us.

And they ground the guy pretty hard before signing him for 875kX1 on 9-21,right before camp opened. The only thing KL lacked in Trashville was opportunity, seeing only 35 starts over his two years there. He put-up solid numbers over those two years though and it's hard to believe he went unsigned all summer, when I see the quality of some team's goaltending,I have to think........NObody needed a quality back-up with room to improve for a million bucks or less?

never give it much thought but i would've thought there'd be more than 4.
is there a rule where new players have to wear a visor?

Holy crap i have to stop drinking. The mandate was on 17/18? Berard injury was 2000. Im way way wayyyy off. Funfact though, it was Hossa’s follow-thru of a shot that clipped Berard’s eye article linked below shows the 20 worst eye injuries in modern north american sport. 5 are hockey injuries. funny thing is i remember the 3 earliest (henry boucha, bernie parent and berard) but the 2 more recent ones (yzerman and marc staal) i seem to have forgotten. parent's injury was a stick thru the eyehole of his mask back in '79. if you recall, tony-0 had a mask with little cages over the eye-holes and i thought he might have started using that style of mask when parent went down but he actually started using it back in '74. i doubt old tony ever stopped fiddling with his gear up until the day he retired. weirdest injury was a football player named orlando brown who got hit in the eye by a flag a ref had tossed. www.aao.org/salud-ocular/consejos/worst-eye-injuries-modern-sports-history

that has to be a suspendable hit doesn't it? not even a minor called on the ice.

The outcome surely looked scary but IMHO how else should have Trouba approached him? Should he have gone on his knees towards him to avoid head contact? Did not jump, did not extend his elbow.

nhl boxscore shows 11 shots, but it's been acting wonky tonight. looking at the canuck's lineup in the boxscore, it has all six blackhawks defensemen on the canucks team.
either way, kane with his first tally in 5 games this season was the game winner. so 1g, 2a on the season for him.

I'm curious how the Players' Safety will evaluate it. As I'm saying, don't know the rules in this aspect and was trying to look at it objectively as if it were not Trouba.

Here’s the main problem. Players just don’t protect themselves. That kid should be chipping the puck in and going around Trouba. Trouba does not give a free pass. Everyone should know this. Instead he tries to beat Trouba along the boards and he crushes guys there.
I just think the hit is bad timing, the kid seemed to lower himself to embrace for the hit, and Trouba’s shoulder got him right in the head. Now if anyone here played or plays. You’d know that play happens quick on the ice. So, does Trouba get suspended and others for a hit like that? At some point that’ll be a problem as hitting will be dead to the game. It already is. There’s maybe 10-20 big hits in the NHL per year now. Where there used to be 1-2 per night.
Gotta be careful what we wish for. Cuz it could blow up in your face!!!

Cuz it could blow up in your face!!! just my opinion, but over the last 50 years the game has changed. it's still the same game but the players are bigger, faster and the equipment they wear should be called what it is...armor. hard as a fckn' rock. again...in my opinion the rules should be changed accordingly. i don't necessarily mean longer suspensions...i think they should all go back to old style '60s type of equipment, especially on the elbows and shoulders. we all know the dangers of too many concussions. call it pussification if you like but it just rubs me the wrong way when players lose their way later in life, or kill themselves.
