Speaking of a better team with better coaching, big, bruising 25yro center Mark Kastelic is on a nifty 10gl/30pt bottom six pace,+7 so far, winning his usual 55% of his draws and quickly becoming a fan favorite in Boston because of it......and because of this....... www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcGS3L_CJVwMaybe the player's current pace is his ceiling and maybe not @25 but I will say this, he's the kind of young player who can help a team's identity because he plays a physical but honest style. His PIM totals have been relatively low considering the number of 'tilts' he has every year. He's not the kind of player out there starting trouble,BUT he is the kind of player you want out there when trouble starts!! Maybe Kastelic was nothing more than a than a 'throw-in' on the the Ullmark trade or maybe Boston saw a young, cheap player who fit their style of play, but it's hard to imagine it woulda took much to pry him from a team that healthy scratched him 19 times and skated him 7:43 when he did play last year. Gotta start looking for the 'diamond-in-the-rough' when teams are dumping young players who never got enough opportunity! www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_0cT4rVQik

But at his age, wouldn’t it be better to find a Kastelic type instead? I think someone 12 years younger would be a better fit on a team like the Hawks. Could a had him for nothing. I know Bickells take longer and patience is a virtue with them types. So Kastelic would a been a decent pick up in my view. At this point in the rebuild, what would it hurt? Tallon was constantly looking for something in trades. I hope this fella does the same!!!

i'm not sure i knew there was such a thing as a fine for diving. When they started calling dive penalties they usually came with a 2K fine. I think that's why you don't see players with over the top flops.

good news is (i suppose) that it's an UBI and not the hip. in another article their coach says "Kane remains day-to-day and is eligible to come off IR anytime."
wings 25th in the league in GF/G so they could use him back.
