don't let any hockey fan bullshit you by saying they've seen everything. I've been watching and playing hockey for over 40yrs so I've seen a lot, saw two pucks on the ice a few times, only once during an NHL game, saw a few pucks go in the eyehole of a mask, once I took a snap shot in the slot and it stuck in an eye hole and cut the goalies eyebrow, but I've never seen an ad come off and get stuck in a players equipment.

TB handed the Jets only their SECOND loss of the season in fairly convincing fashion last night,Brandon Hagel potted his 8th and skated almost 8mins of the 3rd protecting The Bolts' 3gl lead, ending-up with 22mins + of total TOI. His previous four starts saw 23:17,24:36,23:38 and 22:25(only 1 OT game) for the work-horse,two-way forward. As high as I was on this young player,I didn't see one of the league's best two-way forwards in the making, but that's exactly what he developed into playing for Cooper.....he'll finish the season as a 26yro!! He's also on pace for 44gls if he skates all 82gms.....like he did last year.
Find me one of them......for 1M more than we're paying Bertuzzi for 4 more seasons. BOTH of those 1st's better DAM WELL work-out!

And it seems that the Hawks brass are more than content having kids that will take longer to develop. To me it’s nothing more than buying time. I fully agree that if you’re not patient, you’ll become one. But at some point, you have to give a kid a shot, to see what they’ve got. Would it really have hurt to have EDM and Allan play on the Hawks this year? They’re both closing to aging out as prospects. They need a shot. Was signing Martinez or even TJ really that important? I have always maintained that the team needs another high pick. Why do it this way? Give the vets on the team a few of their buddies to walk into the sunset? Bertuzzi is gonna be along 4 years. He may actually be detrimental to the team. I look at Hagel, Dcat, and Dach as players that could have been much better. The Hawks actually had a few decent pieces. They got 4 first rounders for them. So far Nazar is the only one looking the part of an NHL player. And it’s not just the numbers. JayZ and co have said that KK looks meh in Rockford. While I haven’t seen for myself, they follow the team religiously, so I’ll take their word. They also are preaching patience. Which I agree. But how long till we see something? Right now it looks like most draft picks are trending downwards. Levshunov, KK, Moore, Gajan, Vanacker hasn’t even played yet, I mean, at some point you have to see something? No? It pains to see other players have great years when the their counterparts are struggling. And KD has said that this is the basis of the team now, in his own words, “Now we have to see if we drafted right”. I’m not a fan of having a draft fetish. This skating thing I don’t believe will work. But we’ll see!!!

And KD has said that this is the basis of the team now, in his own words, “Now we have to see if we drafted right”. I’m not a fan of having a draft fetish. This skating thing I don’t believe will work. But we’ll see!!! The two 1st's at that early stage of Hagel's career were too 'juicy' to pass-up, even if they weren't gonna be lottery picks, and the pace of the rebuild could have Hagle close to 30 once our top kids have 2-3yrs under their belts. It's obvious how I feel about this player but does his grueling style,20+mins a game and a LOT of board and net-front work wear his average sized frame down by 30? I'm keepin' my powder dry on all the kids till I see em at the big league level and I'll do my best to honestly assess em then. We will have to see something at some point and I'm sure we do,the sheer number of high picks from the last three drafts alone(8 first & 8 seconds)should objectively yield a few quality, young players......and a few young, cheap, role players too. When is that point? I don't know, but I do know the FO has the luxury of patience, for at least this season and next IMO. The one thing I think the team'll need to do as early as next summer though is, target age appropriate, qualiy forwards who are a bit older than our forward prospects(22-25) and could continue to grow and develop with em. Spend some draft capitol and eat a contract if necessary!! The FO has HAD to spend money the last few summers, and with the low expectations,it was literally 'play money'. Paying Hall,Bertuzzi and AA a combined 15M bucks plus doesn't really hamper the team's future since 10M of it comes off next summer(Hall & AA) but the days of acquiring older players has to end. Can Bertuzzi become more engaged and stay that way for four more seasons? If not......that's a poor example for young, impressionable players.

yes, yes, yes...i'll say preemptively that a player that's been in the league as long has nurse should know better at all times, but especially when there's a ryan reaves in the same building.
i try not to even guess anymore what the league will do but this has to be a suspension. given reaves' history, 5 at least is my guess.
not surprisingly, nurse will not return tonight.

4g, 6a and -8 in 13 games but just 1a in last 5 games. 6 and 9 in 16 games now and down to -3. that's more points in less games than one Connor Bedard so far this season... better +/- now, too...

They should “Torres” him. But his meeting is not in person so it’s five or less. Someone facetiously said a bigger punishment for the Leafs is that they have to play him for 20 minutes a game for the next ten games.

I fully agree with ya here. Dirty high hit for sure. But Nurse has just gotta know you cannot skate with your head down like that. Both players were in the wrong here. Reaves just can’t throw hits like that. He easily could have just run through him with his aim not being the head. He’ll get 3-4 for that I would think!!!

Expansion will always water the league down like a bad beer. I don’t think we’ve seen the full picture yet of expansion. If the talent pool dips at any point, and there’s a bad draft or two, the scoring will go way up shortly after as there’s just not enough talent coming in!!!

doesn't help their 8 million dollar goalie swayman, who has logged the 4th most minutes this season is rocking a 3.47 and an .884%. in all fairness i couldn't say if it's the goalie or the team in front of him.
i hope montgomery's personal demons haven't come back to haunt him. it's cost him his job before.
edit: talk about the kiss of death.

Mathews goes to Germany to see a doctor for his shoulder?
They can't find a doctor in Canada or the USA?

Sounds like Bastan has a leadership problem. No coach is good enough. And it may not be the players. Sweeney and Neely seem to be untouchable and maybe they’re too demanding and the players whine to them? And the coach is just in the middle. Cassidy rebounded nicely and got a Cup.
I think the Bruins are destined to miss the playoffs at some point. They’ve lost a lot over the past few years. And really haven’t replaced them with much!!!
