You know your playoff odds are in bad shape when you have a decent size computer screen but can barely see the line on the pie with your computer screen set at 100%.

Any chart showing Philly and LV with a better shot than Boston,TB or the Caps is senseless and St Lou at 4%? Somebody has brain damage!LOL!

Somebody has brain damage!LOL! well...idk how much faith i put into these things. i plunk them here more for fun than anything. (and i'm a self proclaimed numbers guy anyways) compared to the other top guns in the east, philly has been just as consistently good all year, very consistently in the top half dozen in the league. their season record against the caps is 3-0-1, against the bruins it's 2-0. however, against TB they're 0-2. since new year's day, they're tied for 2nd (with boston) at .714 points percentage trailing only TB (.742). the caps have dropped to 15th (.556). if you roll ahead another month, from feb. 1st, the flyers are a league best .824. boston's 2nd at .765, TB is 5th at .694 and the caps 28th (even behind chicago!!) with .438. i don't get the blues at 4.3%, especially considering that calgary and dallas is at 4.2% and minny's at 5.8% (!!?!). but i do put them at #3 behind vegas and colorado.

I think the Blues chances are deemed less due to the division play. They are factoring in that the Blues will meet up with Colorado and their chances are lessened. Same goes for any team playing Boston. The Flies have a good chance due to their division being weaker, or proclaimed to be weaker. The Hawks chances are not good because they’re sht!!!

I’m nervous too about illness, it would suck to see the games played in empty arenas or not at all. I could be wrong here. But from what I’ve read on the percentages is that they look at it as to whom would be more likely to come out of their division (conference finals), and who wouldn’t. So it said they look at all the numbers, probably the ones you posted, and the computer machine doesn’t have feelings or isn’t a fan, it just literally crunches numbers and spews them out. It actually takes into account who’s playing better right now. And I think that’s why Philly has such a nice piece of the pie. As of today, the Hawks for example would need to gain 8 points to pass the Wild. They have 13 games left. If the rest of the teams lost 4 straight in front of them, Hawks would have to win four straight, but that’s impossible as a lot of those teams play each other. So their probability went from 15% last week, to 2-3% this week. The NHL puts a lot of divisional games at the end of the year for more drama, but that basically as killed our chances!!!

^^
Watching my first playoff game this year, I think i would know after about the third whistle whether i could enjoy it or not. : )
It'll be interesting but maybe not in a good way.
And fans aside....it's gotta' SUCK for the players as well.
Imagine the parade?
Edit: not hockey related but Lebron said he wouldn't play in an empty building.

I’m drawing a total blank here, but remember a few years back, for some reason in MLB they played some games in empty arenas? Was it due to relocating due to disaster? Or a terror attack? But I remember a few games played in front of no one, and it was very weird. I think hockey will be worse as it’s enclosed. We’d literally hear every swear word, so they’d have to mute the sound too!!!

I’m sure that was it. It was weird watching that. Not a fan of empty arenas. I will say, that hockey players swear a lot. There’s a lot of things said that many would shudder. So I’d have to think that they’d just mute the players and or broadcast it later with announcers basically watching it (not live). But good find on the Orioles game there!!!

Nah, it's more fun without the muting. Remember when Versteeg audibly yelled, "Hey, I f***** your wife?" Classic.

I guess I just put more importance in the PO experience St Lou,Washington and Boston have and what does the Blues record look like with Tarasenko all year?

NHL just pulled the pin on the season. They kinda had to. It sucks, but I fully support them in this decision. I think it’ll be back in April, once this calms down, not sure how they’ll do it though!!!

Would expect NCAA to do the same with the tournament, especially since Duke and Kansas suspending all athletic activity.

It gives us a few more weeks to delude ourselves and fantasize how the Hawks were going to win the rest of their games and make the playoffs; and then continue to win the cup. Although, in all likelihood this NHL season is toast.

Well I’m glad Kubalik got #30 last night then, I’m happy some of the Rockford kids got to showcase themselves as rewards for good play, and it’s good to go out with a win. It also looks like Malcolm Subban’s hockey stat line will read one minute played in a Hawk sweater this year, no shots.

Although, in all likelihood this NHL season is toast. nah, this pretty much means we are officially done, imo. if they restart before the playoffs, there won't be enough games left for us to make a run to get in. on a side note, I hope they come back with a few games left at least, as this will be a real shit way for Jonny's 20 goal seasons to start a career streak to end, but I guess he should've potted a couple more earlier on. it'll also end he and Kaner's duo streak of the same which I believe is the league record already.

I just got notice that Hockey Canada just sacked our season. We had one more tourney left and they said all is suspended indefinitely, which didn’t leave much hope it would carry on. It was fun coaching my boy, it was fun watching NHL and OHL, but it seems it’s all over now. I just renewed my Spitfires season tix this morning, and then I get an email saying no more hockey this year. Then about 2 hours ago got the Hockey Canada message saying our year is done. It seems this thing is unstoppable now, I’m all for preventative measures, but even our First Lady here has it. I think we might be too much too late. I keep hearing the cases rising now in Canada, plus the USA seems to be getting massive amounts more. Let’s hope this thing dies off and F**** off for good real soon. Even our schools are now closed in Ontario till April 4th now!!!

....until it comes right back next fall 😅
hope they find a vaccine before October.

do they hold the draft now? will it all be remote? so many things are going to be off until this thing slows down....

man, almost all of the players on that list are small, which is likely why they are underrated. someone keep Stan away from this list!!
