I like these boards t-man. I think it’s the best solution moving forward. Thanks for this. I know all of us won’t agree on the Hawks, but that doesn’t take away from the awesomeness provided by t-man. Thanks dog..... woof!
I fear this thing gets worse before better. This team is totally fighting back against the management and coaching staff for letting Seabs take the brunt of the blame for this. It’s not like they’re putting in a better dman with more upside. We’re talking Koekkoek and or Gus. Both AHLers. It’s a total abomination to do that to the leadership group on this team. How else should they react? Now there’s a Grand Canyon sized hole in the relationship with the leadership group. It’s just easier to fire the GM and coach then it is half the players with NMC. Bowman is failing and he’s doing desperate things. Too bad, this could’ve been avoided if Stan and Q we’re both gone!!!

I understand sitting Seabs for the LA game, back to back games, but not vs Nashville and dressing 6 lefties.
Nashville is good but if the guys cared there'd be no way they'd be outshot by 31, Colliton and Stan lost this team with some strange moves.

I really don't mean to be condescending here but does anyone really think Seabs being out of the line up is Collitons decision. It's got Stan Bowman written all over it and will be as such until he has a trade for Seabrook with his agreement . Seabs is the one Bowman is looking to trade not Gus what else he will have to throw in remains to be seen. But I honestly believe this is Stan and freeing up 7 million in cap space for some other stupid move he might make. JMVHO Edie: I forgot to mention that Seabs is also not liked by Colliton as Seabs has the Balls to let him have an earful and Seabs still owns the locker room.

I have to say.... I really don't like Boqvist being called up. I am starting to feel like this move, along with keeping Dach up and Nylander being basically given a spot on the big team (not that he didn't do enough to earn a shot) are all just moves made to force the incumbents out... if that makes any sense.
the youth movement is on, folks. and a new excuse to give JC and SB more time is coming with it.
next is almost certainly the jettisoning of the unhappy veterans....

I would hope that the powers that be allow a new GM the opportunity to correct this. Keeping Stan around is pointless, he’s had everything he could ask for handed to him, including high picks. He’s had everything now, and I see what you’re seeing, they’re going to force the kids in there at all costs. Whether it’s right or wrong, I see Stan forcing this on. Next year would be the best way. Don’t burn a year of the their ELC, and get another high pick. At this point, the kids won’t get enough leadership they need, and the leaders are pissed. Probably not a good situation. It’s probably best to let them run and gun, at least it’ll be entertaining. But I think management is willing to let this die on the vine!!!

I understand what you're saying, but at some point you have to throw the kids in the deep end pool to see if they sink or swim. Didn't the Colorado do this a few years back, and look at them now.

Someone asked Paul Maurice how the team would handle the loss off Buff,Trouba,Myers and Chiarot on the back end before the season started and he said it was HIS job to convince the team it didn't matter. Losing your top four D-men and keeping your head above water is quite commendable......maybe we need a 'convincer'.
The Canes lost their captain Williams,Faulk,de Haan and their solid back up GT...…..their head's above water too.

I don’t know if I really have a list to be honest........I’m just as lost as anyone else I said on here before, wait till the end of the season and then fire the GM and coach. Get a new GM to hire his coach and staff. Then with the minors coaches work a plan that they can do for the entire organization from top to bottom.

I don’t know if I really have a list to be honest........I’m just as lost as anyone else The strongest argument can be made for Mark Crawford. He has led a similar team to the Stanley cup after all. The needed goal tenting is in place as well as a talented yet lost group of forwards. The defense is also similar albeit maybe not quite as good as the Avs. The bigger question is likely whether or not Brookbank might be ready to take the helm as a head coach. Still that would have to be considered an unneeded risk with Crawford being right there. There are others that could be considered people wanted in the organization like Mark Hunter. Though to I would see him as a tremendous Bowman replacement.

I have trouble understanding Collitons enthusiasm every time they beat one of these below 500 teams as though they are getting better. The only team they have beaten of any worth this season is the Oilers and that was a goalie win. I would be able to agree with him somewhat but they aren't even always beating the below 500 teams. No I'm sorry but I think Mr. Colliton's experimental time should be over.
Maybe I'm wrong maybe tomorrow we'll wake to the Hawks being a great team thanks to JC and his coaching methods. I think he has the players most coach's would love to posses. If he's going to do this thing now is the time. In my opinion time has run out.

He'd love to be a HC again. For all I know he's got some Machiavellian scheme to take over. He did win a cup that was set up after the Lindros trade and the Avs moved out of Quebec, and he had the venerated Quenneville as his assistant. Imagine Sakic and Forsberg in their primes. Below is Crawfords coaching history. There is some regular season success but his playoff performances are ridiculously bad. Coaching [notes]

This team is quite inexplicable. By all objective measures, this year's group of players is much better that last year's. Yet, the only noticeable improvement is in goal-tending, which stands on its own, and is not so much subject to JC's coaching. I think that the only rational thing to do is to let JC go.
The Shark announcers were correctly pointing out that the Hawks get trapped in their zone so badly because they are not anticipating. One has to believe that coaching is not there.

JC is not the answer and firing Q only to replace him with this guy is arguably the worst of SB’s many many boneheaded moves. This team is in a free fall and the only thing that can save them is if the ownership finally wakes up from their Stanley Cup hangover and make some significant changes in the front office. Until then, it’s gonna continue to be ugly. It really is shocking how the ownership actually believes SB is a good GM. He might be one of the worst of all time.

Congrats Smith on getting your first points as a Hawk, career assists 100 and 101.
He's been playing much better lately, ever since he was huge on the pk and had a scoring chance.
And great interview by Dach after the win in Vegas, this "kid" is very professional and respectful of the elder skatesmen on the team.

6 weeks into the season and we're a .500 club. 7-7-4
Why does it feel like this has been months so far?

Hawks and Hogs with big wins tonight and both go over .500, 8-7. Not good starts but they both had a big turnover after last season. They seem to be gelling now.
The first 17gms the Hawks D only scored 3 goals, they scored 4 in their last 2.

Whatever happened to Burish being on the intermission and pre/post game shows? Did he piss someone off? I always thought he was hilarious and told it like it is. Did he not tow the company line enough?
