Must be on a breakaway or on a shootout attempt. The slapper was his only move in either. : ) Miss that guy....

Just an interesting stat for 2020.
From a tweet-
"As of right now, 91 points gets you in the Western Conference playoffs.
The Blackhawks would need to go 22-14-5 over the final 41 games to get there.
Loooooong way to go but it's much more easier to envision after taking 10 of last 12 points. — Jimmy Greenfield (@jcgreenx) January 1, 2020"
Blackhawks record last year; January 1st to April 6th, their record was 21–14–6, good for 48 points. (close enough to the target 22-14-5 in the tweet above)
This team might be play-off bound? Would that be good or bad?

Just enough to give Diamond Bill 2 more home games to line his pockets. Just leads to years of false hope.

(Not sure how accurate this is, saw this at one of the discussion boards. Posted by a member who is a season-ticket holder but I cant find anything about it online. So don't shoot the messenger, aka me)
" Optional practice for #Blackhawks this morning. (1.10.2020 after 5-2 loss the night before to the Preds where Rinne scored a goal)
Only Dylan Sikura, Dennis Gilbert and Robin Lehner showed up."

If it was optional and only 3 players showed up that's not good, I wouldn't want to practice a shitty system that doesn't work. If Rocky truly cared about this team he'd show the Bowmans and Mcdonut the door.

No one expected a practice but three players showed up? Im normally defending the wild and crazy management first before bashing, but this is weird. I mean does this happen often ? (Serious question) is this normal? With other teams too?

I don't know either, but with so many rookies and young guys fighting for positions and/or contracts I would think more would show up.

honestly, that is a pretty bad look. kinda seems indicative of what the problem is here, except I know these guys work hard and want to win.
this smells fishy to me.....

Maybe there's a scheduling or communication mix-up which would be hard to understand in the age of instant communication but three guys knew. How does Alex Nylander think about a optional practice and go with 'pass' for God's sake? The kid sat for three games and watched THREE AHL forwards go instead of him and our legit 4th line guys(Kampf,Carp and Smith) all have a spot rightfully secured before Nylander now too. Caggiula's back,Saad's close and Strome skated a little bit this morning...….if I'm Alex Nylander,I'm doin' wind-sprints and watchin' tape every chance I get!

I just hope that a virus or cold or something is going through the room and they needed rest. Even an optional skate usually gets a least half the team out. Were the others there at least for a film session or meetings? If it was only 3 to show up at an optional skate, that’s kinda horrifying!!!

should have mentioned yesterday that strome was on the ice during the optional practice but skated off after about 20 seconds apparently. JC said he was just testing it out.
in a way, i guess that's encouraging news.

Heard that earlier too and I have to think it's considered more of a minor injury or he's in a walking boot instead of skates. Dr hsbob diagnoses a mid-ankle sprain and clears the player as soon as he can go pain-free.....7-10 days max. edit: I've consulted with my esteemed colleague Dr Trash and he concurs!LOFL!!!!

One thing that needs to happen a to get Dcat to play with a playmaker constantly. He’s a finisher and not an all around player. I hope they get Strome with him constantly and put Dach on the wing. Dach seems like a decent playmaker and he could really benefit from Dcat finishing. It’s awful for the kid to go almost 10 games without a point. He would a been better off in Jrs!!!

One guy who doesn't get much love around here and he's now tied for the rookie lead in goals with 16, is Kubalik.
I've liked him since the World Cup after he was signed, impressive speed, size, aggressiveness, and shot.

I've liked him since the World Cup after he was signed, impressive speed, size, aggressiveness, and shot. Took him awhile, for what ever reason, to get on Colliton’s good side but he’s exactly as advertised. Now that the results are coming and his TOI secure you can see he’s becoming more aggressive and less worried about every mistake stapling him to the bench. He should be good for at least 25 if he stays healthy. I think Nylander should go play in a Euro league and learn his craft like Kubalik did. We can bring him back in a couple of years at a similar age.
