I guess it pays to run and gun!!! the level of our goaltending has taken a bit of a drop lately but it seems we're giving up a lot more grade "A" chances at 30 shots/game then we were at 45 shots. maybe teams have realized more patience is needed playing us, not to always take the easy shot. i honestly don't know.

That actually could very well be. Maybe running and gunning makes teams take many shots from the outside due to being afraid of giving up an odd man rush? But I think you’re bang on with the grade A chances. I fear the team is giving them up due to JC pushing his defensive scheme further. I think that the players don’t really grasp what he wants and they’re caught out of position giving up a good chance. I’d rather watch exciting high scoring games rather than a game like last night. I fell asleep and woke up later to the NHL logo spinning around the screen!!!

Certainly, in the Colorado game, there were so many prime area scoring chances, where the shooter was 15'-18' away, right in the middle, that even with the best goaltender you're looking at 0.600 save %. It was unbelievable how how the avs players just walked in, took aim, and fired. There were moments like that in the Dallas game, too, except they don't have as many high quality snipers as the Avs.

We just don’t have that and with half the roster turned over again, it’s just too much for this club to handle. I hope the higher ups aren’t taking advice from senior Bowman anymore!!!

I don't have the answer to it, but a good coach and GM should.

Great observation(for you)LOL......just kidding! I said I wanted to see fewer point shots get through a while back but you and T are right my friend...….it looks like opponents have figured why take point shots if we can get shots from 15 feet away and they're gettin' them. Maybe Lehner and CC haven't been as sharp as they were but when you see either top tier goaltender give up 2-3 goals before the end of the 1st period, you realize the team either didn't come ready to or just ain't capable enough.

these articles find me. you just have to follow good people on twitter...and they virtually deliver right to your door step. i always like to post articles like this because the negative stuff always finds it's way here but not always the positive stuff. it's the nature of message boards i guess.

I don't know about that, I see a lot of positive posts on here, especially in the Bowman thread. There are a lot of us who are positive that Bowman is a horrible GM!

I thought a few veteran, forwards and D-men would help the 'kill' but goaltending might have made the biggest difference.

Difficult to be positive on these boards when the team is last in their own division over 1/3 of the way through the season. When the team gives us reason to be more positive, I’m sure we will be. Seems like a fair trade off to me 😁 Sure it’s nice the PK is a little better. And yeah it’s nice the goaltending is a little better. But overall, last in the division is the main point. The rest if just fluff 🤷🏻♂️

Now Bowman has something to hang his hat on during his contract negotiations with McD and Rocky!

Coyotes playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. On the season, they are 0-4 in the 3rd game of a 3-in-4 scenario. Important 2 points tonight that are there for the taking.

5 of the last 6, we'll take that. I agree there. My issue is the way the team is getting them. I didn’t see the Devils game, but in both the Bruins and Coyotes games, I saw the opposition be the better team for 2 out of 3 periods. A couple of good breaks and insane goaltending were the reason those points were had. That isn’t a recipe for long term success. I can count on 2 hands how many times the Hawks have been the better team this season in a game. It isn’t enough. I guess we’ll have to see which way things will go - either this team will actually get better and compete for a playoff spot. Or the breaks will stop coming and the goaltending won’t be able to bail them out all the time and they will compete for the #1 draft pick. Such an enigma 🤔
