I feel like they are waiting for the settlement to be reached before they make/announce any other moves. coming out with press about new people being hired before the settlement is announced will just result in more talk about the settlement (or lack thereof). if they wait until after, they can sell the hope of new eyes improving the team... They can't wait for any settlement, the business has to go on. Now IF Daniel is going to be the President of hockey ops he only has to find the right GM. If not he needs to get the Hunter brothers in here to run the show.

From what I’ve read and seen (Rick Westhead). The consensus is that this will go on for some time. Beach wants north of 60 million and it’s reported that the Hawks were offering 5. So they’re miles apart.
Westhead also said that if the case is actually thrown outta court, which is highly probable, where does Beach go from here? I think this drags out for quite some time!!!

I had sympathy for the guy but when I hear this it begins to sour my feelings.

Should the Hawks organization be punished for their bad actions? I would say yes.

So Beach should be well compensated for his bad actions? A 20yr old fresh out of the CHL should be focused on Hockey when he's very fortunate to be a black ace on a Cup run, not partying with a video guy and a hooker drinking and doing hard drugs.

The Hawks did give him another 4 year contract after the season and he still didn't make the team. He wasn't a bad AHL player, just not NHL caliber apparently.

Beach would be compensated for his trauma. Additionally, the Hawks would be punished for the bad action -- or inaction -- by the organization. I assume that most of that amount is for punitive damages. I don't know whether it's reasonable or not -- seems a tad excessive to me -- but that's what it's for: bad behavior by the Hawks organization. It does make sense to you that the new management would start after this unfortunate chapter has been closed.

Seems to me the organization has already been punished as have the key executives. Maybe it wasn’t enough but $60 million is way over the top. The situation was not handled properly although I doubt many other teams would have done much better 10 years ago for the same type of incident. That still doesn’t excuse the Blackhawks - just an observation.

Do we have to go through 50 more ugly games before they install new management? Torture! gonna be more games than that... feel pretty good about the likelihood of KD being the guy for a couple years and Danny just letting him do his thing... may as well suck for a few years, maybe we can build it back up right... 🤞🤞

But if it’s the young Kraft Dinner. Let’s see what he’s about. I think the cheaper way will be the way for a while. And if he fails, he’s easy to turf. If he succeeds, they can always say “I told you so”. Or as Ricky from Trailer Park Boys says….. “A toad a so”!!!

If the 33yro former video coach who only knows what SB taught him is allowed to learn on the job here for two more years, then that's two more years before a PROPER rebuild is started. I'm always the guy lookin' for a big, tough guy who can fight...right? That said,it's so SB of KD to add a big, tough guy who can fight but has AHL ability....is it not? The 23yro D-man taken in the 2nd round,Chad Krys had three decent years at BU and one at Rockford before seeing only a few handfuls of games the last two years due to either injury,Covid or both. Some of these young D-men don't get it until they're in their mid 20's........a bag O pucks shoulda got ya Gabriel.....NO?

They do all the scouting to identify players and then draft them, start to develop(?) them and then promptly discard them. Kind of pathetic!

From Charlie Roumeliotis' interview with 33 year-old Kyle Davidson on 11/18/21:
Last one, what message would you give to the fanbase that they should have confidence in you moving forward and your ability to manage this team?
Yeah, I think my message would simply be that right now we're in an evaluation phase and situation, but with that evaluation phase comes a plan. We're going to have a plan, we're going to put a plan together. What that is? We will get there, but for right now, we're on the road to putting a plan together to get back to where we want to be. It's not going to be easy, but we have to learn what we're dealing with here and then once that's understood, then we're going to put a comprehensive plan together to get to where we want to go.
So . . . they're working on a plan and a guy who is Kane's age is driving the process . . .

Oh boy...so the plan is to make a plan and the one in charge of the plan and the creation of the plan seems to be incapable of creating said plan.
Somebody put me out of my misery.

I have been pushing back on the notion of trading our biggest asset i.e. #88. I would succumb to that end IF we were able to garner a king's ransom for PK. Do I have the slightest bit of confidence that the current GM could pull that off? No way!

I would do that, but I doubt anyone whose an actual GM would do that. I do think the Kane to the Rags is realistic. Especially since the Hawks have fallen apart again. I think that’s what they should be looking for!!!
