It was reported a while ago that Crow would sign a 1yr contract at a home town discount, Lyle Richardson of SpectorsHockey said it'll be 4mill with bonuses. If he does sign that they should still get Murray, That'd be a good tandem and cheaper than Crow and Lehner. CC made it abundantly clear that he wants to be the starter. If I had to choose CC or Murray. I’d go younger. CC gives us one maybe 2 years on a rebuilding team. Kinda pointless. I doubt Murray is coming here because it’d involve actual hockey knowledge. Rutherford would school Stan!!! I'm well aware of Crow saying that and if he signs for 1yr and they get Murray he'll have to earn his ice time, same with Murray. He lost his spot in Pittsburgh and he's still young so if he comes to Chicago he can learn a lot from Crow and work hard to earn ice time but of course if I had to pick between the two I'd go with the guy who's 9yrs younger with 2 Cups. And considering Murray is a RFA and wants out it doesn't give Pittsburgh much leverage, I'm sure Stan will still get schooled but it won't be that significant. Or they let Crow walk, not go after Murray, and bring Lehner back, Vegas can't afford him. There's options.

Whoa Stan Bowman has his goalies. There's little doubt that Crow signs on the cheap. Although I'm aware that Demin was the trade piece Stan will do all possible to try to make it like he won the trade on all fronts. That meaning I believe Stan wants success out off Suban.
I don't completely say I don't like a trade for Murray, but I have huge issues when it comes to million dollars athletes acting as he as. If he wants to truly be the best on any team actions speak louder than words.
There are very few goalies that can stop almost forty or more shots per game and do so with a pretty terrible defense. I'm talking about Crow and as long as he plays decent hockey I'd be delighted to see him play in Chicago.

due to my OCD kicking in heavy today, i've likely dispersed about 70-80 posts from here (but not related to this thread} around to different threads. most to the bowman thread, followed by the 2020 draft thread and also some to the hawks fire mcdonut thread. i'm not notifying anyone privately about "moved posts" because nobody likely gives a shit anyways but i thought i'd at least drop this message here.

Anointing him the de facto #1 is jumping the gun, I agree. At this point though it's his net to lose. Unless he outright tanks or Delia and Subban start playing beyond what they've played in the past I think he should get the nod with the understanding that he can lose the net as easily as he earned it.

Glad to hear Lankinen got his 1st NHL Gooseegg.
It sucks epically that I've not been able to see it since the ice storm here knocked our power, heat, cell, etc. for 6 days. We just got our power on this morning!

Thanks...it's great to be back. I hope hawkfaninpdx wasn't hit as hard as I was. Hey Lord -- Thanks for the concern! I lost power for 24 hours, so it was not too bad all things considered. I am finally able to make it out of my neighborhood on my bicycle. The cold spell froze all the "brilliant" ideas right out of my head, so I haven't been posting. Hope you're doing okay now and power is back on. Which part of the city are you in? PS: It was interesting to read how the Stars got panned for planning to play the game against Nashville while everyone in the state was being told to conserve electricity.

It was pretty bad here. A lot of trees iced over and fell. Thankfully none of them hit our place. Glad to hear only 24 hours for you! And yeah. I have some friends in Texas and they said the way they're doing it is a complete cluster there.

When I read Stauber I thought that name sounded familiar, second gen goalie, good move to get him before his final season. 6'3" and he's put up good numbers since 2019.

That's cool there's another connection with a big dman and goalie, Vlasic and Commesso and now Taige and Stauber. Taige was listed at 6'7" when drafted but still, he's a big boy and not just tall, heavy as well. I've watched a lot of his highlights this year when playing for my hometown Fort McMurray, he was a point a game and their captain. Funny Robb Stauber didn't play long but we both remember him, I drew a lot of goalies from hockey cards in the late 80's early 90's and did one of him.

Will have to see him on NHL is for awhile before I pass judgement. However, the more prospects the better.

His dad (Robb Stauber) played for the Minnesota Gophers. He was a good college goalie.

He's still the only MLB player in history to have at least 500 hits with four different teams. First Mets player to drive in 100 runs,he hit .423 in the '1973' WS.......with a busted shoulder and became one of the best pinch hitters in the history of the game in his later years. Eight consecutive pinch-hits and 25 pinch-hit RBI's in a season are both records that still stand today.

It might be good to call him up for a gameor two to give him a little taste of the NHL but definitely needs to play alot in Rockford to gain experience and be ready for the NHL.

i wonder if crow would come back for another go next year? anyone know if he still lives in chicago? with bowman gone would he be up forit? dumb idea? i was a fan of MAF but i don't think he's what we need next year unless it was a sweetheart deal and i doubt he does that. but i think we'll need someone. as it stands now, i don't think going into next season with the goalies we got is a good idea, even if is the time to tank.

I think Dr. Craw is 100% done. There would be a hell of a lot of rust for him to shake off and there's no guarantee that the roster won't be as pussified as when he got ran 2 seasons in a row. Looking at the FA goalie roster: Jones, DeSmith, Elliott, and a few others seem to be +.900 in more than a few outings this year and are cheap expiry UFA's that could fill a Turco/Emery role. I don't think any of them are the take-over-the-game types like MAF but they've been around long enough to not only be a mentor for the goalie youth but also give the team D a kick in the pants when they inevitably screw the pooch.

well...he did seem genuinely pissed off he didn't get term on the contract offered by bowman. likely a dumb idea but he'd put a few asses in the seats and what better mentor than a guy who started here green and went on to win 2 cups.
