Korchinski? I'm comfortable with that pick. Got some size. Went from 5'10" to 6'2", and maybe more because he looked as tall as 6'4" Richardson. He's an analytic monster and has a heavy shot and great with entries and exits. WHL kid from Saskatchewan and had the most assists by a rookie dman in the WHL since 1983 and the second highest had 48pts. I'll follow the Sens more closely because of Debrincat but getting a Makar type of dman who's 6'2" might help ease the pain.

I may not like losing Debrincat, but we got a chance to develop our nascent D right.

This report says he needs to work on his shot power but the Sportsnet guys were saying he has a bomb and showed highlights of it. I like that he just turned 18 and had huge numbers for Seattle in a tough WHL league.

From elite prospects report Frankly he is one of the worst off-puck defenders to land on the final elite prospects draft rankings so incredibly puck focused and out of most plays that the Thunderbirds may as well have been down a man with Korchinski on the ice during even strength defensive sequences

I like that he just turned 18 and had huge numbers for Seattle in a tough WHL league. His 3rd year in the "W" but his previous 2 seasons totalled just 24 games. 0g and 10a in 23 games last season. To go from that to over a point/game in his draft year and then go 7th overall excites me. Doesn't hurt he was a blackhawk's fan growing up either.

Do they go with a center now, the slightly smallish Nazar maybe, or Lambert?

I like the Korchinski pick. I don’t really care for all of the machinations to get there but I think he’s a good prospect.

very happy about the Nazar pick. he can take Debrincat's spot in the "wangs fan from detroit" spot... plus I get to watch him in college now too...

The Dach trade got the Hawks a right handed center who's very skilled.
The Debrincat trade got the Hawks a potential top2 dman.
Two positions of need and they have high end potential.

Nazar let’s hope he decides to head to London with the Hunters.
I can’t say I hate the picks. I like em. But I just wanted to see a wee bit more for the trades.
Anyways. It goes to show that the org was in awful shape. Now it’s time to let these kids develop. Hawks now have 3 2nd rounders. And a bunch after. So they’ll help replenish the shitty stock!!!

So..Nazar. upgrade at the dot from Dach? If he wins 31% at the dot, he's an upgrade!

Nazar will be going to Univ. of Mich. I assume for at least a couple years. He should stay there as long as needed no need to rush him. Michigan is almost like an expansion team.
