So does this mean that Formenton will be taking the fall for this debacle? Is there information behind the scenes no one is aware of?

Anyone ever figure out which rug this got swept under? this announcement is just a few hours old. hopefully it's a good start. she's from a different sport altogether (she had the same job for 7 years with Curling Canada), so definitely a fresh set of eyes and i hope a good choice. with the state of affairs of Hockey Canada, i'm glad they opted to put a woman in charge. www.tsn.ca/hockey-canada-appoints-katherine-henderson-as-president-and-ceo-1.1980761to refresh, the 2 blackhawks that were on the 2018 team were raddysh and katchouk. raddysh issued a statement saying denying involvement and to my knowledge katchouk hasn't yet. of course a statement...or lack of one...doesn't mean not guilty or guilty.

I believe Formenton, formerly of Ottawa also made no statement and I agree with you about the meaning of it. The investigation finished-up back in December but there's been nothing about in the news until now. I believe the young woman settled with 'Hockey Canada' from a fund they used for this purpose, amoung others. www.thestar.com/news/canada/2022/07/27/hockey-canada-scandal-president-former-ceo-to-appear-before-committee.html#:~:text=Hockey%20Canada%20has%20been%20under%20fire%20since%20news,Canadian%20Hockey%20League%20and%20several%20players%20this%20spring. I guess that's the end of it......too bad Q couldn't just buy his way out of trouble like Rocky and 'Hockey Canada' seem to have done.

She settled for like 7 million total with attorny taking half.

She settled for like 7 million total with attorny taking half. Why cooperate when she can stay anonymous and collect millions? Hockey Canada's paid-off.....I mean settled with nine 'so called' accusers since 1989......boys'll be boys.

It sounds like the investigation into Raddysh and Kkatchouk is dead in the water. In which case, I think we can call that trade a super win for the Blackhawks. We ended up with the 19th pick overall with which we grabbed Oliver Moore. woohoo!

We ended up with the 19th pick overall with which we grabbed Oliver Moore. woohoo! apparently nhl insider frank seravalli has a podcast and on a recent one he said the hockey canada investigation is indeed winding down, but added that some nhl teams are "bracing for suspensions". listening to zawaski's podcast just now. for what it's worth, he said that a source he knows told him last year that neither raddysh or katchouk were involved. i hope that's the case, while at the same time hoping justice is served. edit: seravalli's comments are at the very end of this podcast, about 47 minutes in. it's just a quick comment, likely under a minute start to finish in length. open.spotify.com/show/6SVI7Cwa0MxqLI4a7G7lnvnot sure the link takes you to the one particular podcast that cites the hockey canada quote, but it's the "alex debrincat lands in detroit" episode. his is the DFO podcast, or the Daily Faceoff podcast. not bad listening if anyone's interested.

you know it seems easy to blame the team for not controlling their players, or Hockey Canada, but I don't see it that way at all, What about the parents, they raised the kids, they are more to blame than a 1/2 dozen men that had these kids for a couple months

That group of kids are made up of individuals who were, for the most part the best of the best of their towns, cities and leagues. They're put up pedestals. Combine this with winning a championship and the testosterone levels of youth and maybe the brain doesn't work so good any more.

Funny how everyone points at Hockey Canada, where the hell are the parents, these kids spend a month, practicing and getting ready for the WJ's , their Jr team had them for much longer, and you can't tell me that it's that much difference in the way they are perceived from the young girl fans , been a season ticket holder at sea dogs games , and the amount of girls hanging around after the games is crazy, and the parents had them for 18 years, they are just as much to blame as HC if not more, If it were my son, on that team and this came out , I would find out what happened, and discipline him accordingly,

After all, if their kid doesn't get into the NHL who would pay for their lifestyle? It's disgusting not matter how you slice it.

just to emphasize what's said in the tweet. it may be just a total coincidence, but the timing does seem odd.
edit:
ok...the tweet i posted was by steve simmons (toronto sports columnist). it said the flyer's carter hart and the flames' dillon dube have both been granted leaves of absence from their respective teams. he went on to speculate it might have something to do with the 2018 canadian wjc team and the sex assault investigation because both were members of the team and the timing seemed strange. simmons must have deleted the tweet because it disappeared from my previous post, and that's what happens when you post a tweet and later the tweet's owner deletes it. simmons must have thought better of it, or maybe he received info that debunked his speculation.
to clarify, hart asked for a leave of absence for "personal reasons" and dube's was to "attend to his mental health" and that he's "under the care of health professionals". it could very well be a coincidence. we'll see soon enough (maybe).
man...the wheels of justice are known to turn slow, but this is getting ridiculous.

There are reports by Canadian newspaper, Globe and Mail that 5 members of Canada's 2018 World Junior team have been asked to surrender to Canada police to face sexual assault charges.

In a weird way. I’m just happy none of the Hawks players were involved in this. I believe Raddysh and Katchouk were on that team.
I’m not gonna make any comment on what happened. None of us know. But I will comment on the police here. I really hope they have this girls back. Yea she did some things she wished she never did. But for fucks sakes, now she has to face these high priced lawyers that will make her into a gawd dam demon. She settled, and was content. Leave it at that. But to drag this poor woman back into this, they better have her back and support her no matter what the outcome is. If these guys get off of the charges. They better help this girl out. I hope they don’t abandon her if things go south for the prosecution. They’re really asking for a lot at this point. Now this poor girl will be outed and she everyone will know who she is. I hope the police know what their doing!!!
