The Florida Panthers become the 2nd team in NHL history to come from a 4 goal deficit to win a game twice in the same season. Only other team to do so were the 1983/84 Edmonton Oilers in the Gretzky era.

It's a really fun team to watch. And Bobrovsky still hasn't played great yet, although in the last 3 games he's shutting down teams in 3rd periods when it counts the most.

Barkov started out slow and now he is tearing it up. should be a fun team to watch this postseason. I'll be rooting for em!

Ekblad gets a lot of the press, but they have a 25 year old in Mike Matheson who's really impressed me the most. Guy can skate, jump into the offense, and still get back defensively. And Tallon signed him long term for 8 years at $4,875,000 per season. That's going to be a massive steal as the years go on.

Matheson's been an eye opener so far Phill, his speed through the neutral zone is very noticeable. They'd be in great shape with their D-men if the one year genius the owner hired a few years back didn't give that stinker to Yandle. It's hard to believe nobody had any interest in Boyle this summer,he offers a team a lot. www.nhl.com/panthers/video/112119-post-game-interviews/t-277437408/c-4650044

It set the club back several years until they opened their eyes and corrected the mistake, moving Tallon back to GM. Biggest concern is after this season Hoffman and Dadonov are both UFA and not a lot of cap space to sign them if cap doesn't go up much next season. Not familiar with their minor league system so don't know what there is in the pipeline if they need to be replaced.

The Cats have hung onto a spot and won games recently but they have to score 4-5,Bob's gotta be better than 3.26/.898 in the 2nd half.

They signed Bob because they gave up a lot of goals in past seasons, might be the defense just isn't strong enough. They can score seemingly at will when they want, but they keep letting teams back in games. The weekend is a great case in point, vs both Detroit (bad team) and Montreal (playoff contender)who scored 3 unanswered goals to take leads before the Panthers turned it up offensively, led by Huberdeau and Bartok.

If Bob's GAA was high but he kept his sv% over .900,it'd be easier to blame the defense but .898 has to get better and I'm sure it will......he still makes the big saves at times. The defense has been a work in progress though,Ekblad missed the last two games and I like this 21yro Stillman and it seems Q does too when you see his TOI. Their elite forwards are playing with confidence but they'll have to help tighten things up in their own end too and what a nice pick up Acciari was for 1.5M!

Actually Ekblad missed just 1 game, he was expected to sit the Montreal game as well but came back into the lineup. And yes, Stillman looks solid! He had an awesome open ice hit reminiscent of one that Hjalmarsson used to give. And Acciari has been fantastic. He got to play several games with Huberdeau and all he did is get hat tricks in back to back games (2nd time in club history, Bure being the first) and 7 goals in 3 games. Connolly (4 year @ $3.5 million per year) has been a great signing too! It actually proves your point on the wasted money Bowman spent. Could you imagine how improved the Hawks may have been adding just these 2 players? They are making just over $5 million combined while the Hawks are paying over $8.5 million for DeHaan and Maata.

Q might be lookin' at a bit of a goaltender controversy if Bob doesn't pick it up,Drieger took over half way through in Buffalo and shut em down the rest of the way then followed that up with 1 allowed in Pittsburgh yesterday. I know it's a small sample size for the 25yro but the difference in the two GT's is HARD to overlook.

Murray helped their 1st cup after taking over for Flower, then was unbeatable in the 2nd cup. Now they got a kid 1year younger , Jarry, who is shutting it down. They signed Murray to a 3. 750 for 3 yrs. Which ends this season. Do they resign him?

the eastern conference race is way more appealing than the race in the west. in the east (imo) anyone of washington, boston, pittsburg, tampa, and the islanders are front runners with toronto, carolina, philly and florida poised to surprise.
in the west (imo) it's a tossup between st. loo and colorado. i just can't see anyone else capable of toppling them two.
so....if you're smart....slap a thou down on a minnesota/columbus final.
don't delay.

Cats were up 4-0 half way through the 3rd at home against LA Thurs night and just got outta there by the skin of their teeth after taking a few penalties......Q can't be happy with that but it should be a good wake up call. I still think Fla needs a D-man but who doesn't.

Cats laid a 0-4 egg in Montreal after their 10 day layoff but bounced back nicely with a win in Toronto w/o Barkov last night. Fla is still gonna need 'Bob' to find that Vezina form and live up to that contract to make any noise......it's tough out east.

Panthers recall Alexi Saarela after trading Denis Malkin and Saarela scores his first NHL goal on a tough angle shot in Panthers 4 to 1 victory in Anaheim. Played just over 13 minutes, +2 and 3 for 3 on faceoffs. Q commented he likes what he sees in Saarela, with speed, great passing skills, and a solid shot. Sounds like the type of player the Hawks could use....oh, wait

Terrific shot from a tough angle for his 1st career tally. Good story about their D prospect, big, tough, point a game captain for the league leading Winterhawks……. www.nhl.com/panthers/news/prospect-qa-ludvig-making-big-strides-in-whl/c-315219752
