Good to see 'Bob" finally earin' his $$$$$ for fuk's sake! Absolutely. A GAA of .330 and save percentage under .900 is pretty pathetic.
I like the trade bringing in Haula in particular. Love the speed he brings and can play special teams. Don't know much about the other 3 players, but to get 2 NHL players and 2 prospects for Trocheck was a pretty good deal. The biggest problem will be trying to resign either, who are both FA after the season (Haula UFA and Wallmark RFA).
Now to be honest, I've watched every game and don't think the Panthers are a playoff caliber team. It's not just Bobrovsky, although that's been a huge issue. Team defense is sorely lacking. They can put the puck in the net, but unless the D improves dramatically I wouldn't be surprised if they miss out on the playoffs. The wildcard is starting to slip away from them, so it could be a battle for the 3rd place slot against Toronto. They have 2 games left against the Leafs, including tomorrow night that they must win, or it could be over for the Panthers.

I woulda liked to see em bring in some help on defense myself but Priskie should be close. Cats are two behind the Leafs for 3rd and four behind the BJ's for the last WC. If Bobrovsky stays on form, they have a good shot,if not, they have almost none. Team defense is a work in progress and I know it's a small sample size but Driedger looked good every time he started and it's a shame he got hurt.

Don't worry, the Hawks will make them look like Cup champions come this Saturday.

I don’t know what it is about the Panthers. They just can’t seem to get it together. Maybe it’s their leadership group with Huberdeau and Barkov. They’re good players, but maybe not the guys you need to get it done.
I think the Panthers and Flames are kinda in the same canoe. I don’t see how they can each keep their top 2-3 guys and never win or barely make the playoffs? Goudreau, Monahan, Giordano have been there a long time, and not much has happened. Same for Barkov, Huberdeau and Ekblad. At some point in the near future both those teams will have tough decisions to make. Not sure I’m keeping the status quo with those guys, I could see both teams look to move out one or two of them if they miss again!!!

How is our Hossa cloning project doing? Are we close yet?

The failure of Bobrovsky has been a major reason the Panthers have failed to this point in the season. If he doesn't start playing like he's capable of, the Panthers have no chance at making the playoffs this season.

He has been a bit better but you're right,we have seen some GT's struggle in a new system,Fla has to hope like hell this is the case. What I don't get is how all the red hot forwards just quit scoring now that they've kinda figured out how to hold teams to 2 or 3,something tells me that Trochek trade went over like a fart in church in their 'room'.

I think it's also about teams tightening their defensive play as the playoff push escalates. Teams are paying much more attention to the top guns on the team, in particular Barkov and Huberdeau. The only one doing much of anything lately is Hoffman.

A couple of broken ankles could be something that he never fully recovers from.

Driedger back and in goal vs Boston tonight. The road to the playoffs is going to be tough with 9 of their remaining 16 games against teams vying for a playoff spot. 5 points behind Toronto for 3rd in the division, and 5 points back in the wildcard race.

Nice game from the rook but the Cats have allowed 11 reg/non-EN goals over the last five games with Bob which is a massive improvement but it's adversely affected their scoring and output from their most reliable forwards. That was a barn burner last night against the best team in the league,if Fla plays like that the rest of the way, they'll have a shot.

It seems that a few teams in the east aren’t really interested in the playoffs. The Panthers, Leaves and Kanes are all looking to sht the bed and lay in it too. Who wants it more? It seems none of them!!!

It seems none of them!!! Leafs lost to the F'n Ducks last night?LOL! Florida was near the league lead in scoring before the break but their top guys have gone STONE cold. Barkov and Hooby dooby doo have been as consistent as it gets for some time and have 20/62 and 22/77 respectively this year but NO goals between em the last five games and only 2 assists combined...….ZERO points in the last four! The Cats have been much better defensively but have scored eight in the last five games. I'm sure Q has tried to tighten it up defensively and maybe the Trochek trade was the right thing to do but it looks like it bothered the Captain and his assistant.

The Hawks need 3 teams in front of them just like that. On Spittin Chiclitts they were talking bout shortening the schedule and how even 6 games would do wonders and eliminate most of the back to backs. The 82 games is just too much these days with the massive expansion of the league. Back in the 80s there were 21 teams. Now there’s gonna be 32. 82 games is just too much and I feel that players are getting burnt out, so are fans. It’s tough to own season tickets and make it to 41 games plus playoffs and preseason. I only go to 2-3 games a year, it’s way too tough to make it to more. Personally I like the 72 game schedule. Gives enough time to spread games out and give the players enough rest throughout the year, even if players need to take a little less, it’d be worth it overall!!!

Much needed home win for the Cats last night,3pts behind the Leafs with a game in hand for 3rd and 3 back of the last WC spot. Another nice start for Driedger(1st star) and nice games from the new guys and a Huberdeau sighting on top of it.....Barkov still pointless in his last five. No 'Bob' on the bench last night, gotta wonder if he's been dinged up much of the year.

Panthers season ends with a thud. Bobrovsky was a massive disappointment all season long, and he gave up one of the weakest goals I've seen in a long time in a must win game to give the Islanders a 1 - 0 lead. It was pretty much the story of the season.
On the bright side, the Panthers are now in position to get the #1 pick.

I hope they get it, if the Blackhawks aren't in the running. maybe Lafreniere would put them over the top. Bob is looking like a colossal waste of money, though.....
