what's wrong with Bob? that's three games in a row now he has sat out... They were IMHO overutilizing him and he's worn out a bit. The stats were mediocre lately. At the same time, Knight picked up his game compared to the early season, so why not play him and give Bob some time to get it together. Now they're playing back to back so I expect it'll be his net tonight. If not, then there's really space for concern.

what's wrong with Bob? that's three games in a row now he has sat out... He got hit in the face with a puck 3 games ago, taking 17 stitches. Not sure if he's still in pain, or they want to wait to get the stitches out?

Ekblad goes down in a 3 player collision 1 minute into the game with Anaheim. He crawled out of the pile as tempers flared, eventually being helped up and to the locker room.
Hopefully this isn't a repeat of last season.

looks like friendly fire took out ekblad. can't really see it but i think his right ankle got bent over in a way it wasn't meant to do. his knee looked good when he was trying to crawl so i figure it's his ankle.

Brunette mentioned that Ekblad’s injury is not as bad as it looks. Ekblad will be there for the playoffs.
In the meantime, they can “Kucherov” Ekblad and get another solid Dman for Ek’s caphit. That would be interesting, but Giroux is always in the rumor mill. They dont need him

When you compare it to Hagel, not a good return for philly. Granted, diff situations (rental/non rental, UFA status and G’s NMC), its basically Tippett, 2024 1st rounder and 2023 3rd rounder

Flyers’ dman Robert Hagg going to Panthers They actually got him from Buffalo, where he's played the last 48 games. Expiring contract, 27 years old. Haven't seen the actual transaction, do you know what the Panthers gave up?

Ekblad is "week to week"... sounds to me from the reports that they aren't quite sure how badly he is hurt just yet but they are hoping he will be back before the postseason...

Just looked, and you're right. They have no 1st and 1 2nd round picks for the next 3 years. And I don't know much about their minor league system to say they have anyone worth a significant upgrade. They'd likely be pulling off a miracle to make a trade at this point.

After 6 days off the Panthers back in action, and once again no Bobrovsky. Didn't listen to pregame, so not sure why he's still out.

One thing hit me right between the eyes watching that game, the GT who made 45 saves and a D-man who skated well over 20 minutes as a mainstay on one of the league's best teams were throw-ins when DUMBASS had deHAAN-job's entire deal hung on the team. It was a pure salary dump three years ago and the guy's still untradeable......did the Canes sweeten or retain $$$? NOPE....just another deal that damaged the team.
To be fair,I won't pretend I was high on Forsberg or Forsling when they were here but I'm not the GM and I get high on other shit.
Nice to see Bob settle down and the Cats are never out of a game.

I actually saw a bit of Hjalmarsson in Forsling when he first came up. In my opinion he's shown better skating abilities then Hammer, who was more of the stay at home in the pairings he ever had with Campbell and Oduya, who were both the ones relied on more to skate the puck out of the zone. Hammer could lay out the biggest hits that I don't see Forsling doing, but he is playing with Gudas. Seems it's a total role reversal from what Hammer had in Chicago.
As for Forsberg, I was upset from the beginning with this trade, considering they gave up Panarin in the deal, and getting a goalie who was 1-8-0 in 10 appearances over 3 years, and a GAA of 4.02 with a save percentage of .879. But he's hung in there and seems to have finally found himself in Ottawa, although it is a small sample size.
