Ekblad is the pride of Belle River. That’s where I reside. My son played for Belle River and I coached there. Fun times they were.
I think next year since the Hawks are more than likely gonna be unpolished turds. I think we should get a thread for Panthers game days. It gives us something to follow in the down times. I guess it’s an escape from the everyday bitching of the Hawk!
I’m gonna ask Tman to drum up something for us next year. I think this Panthers thread shows there’s enough interest in having a Panthers GDT!!!

I think this Panthers thread shows there’s enough interest in having a Panthers GDT!!! The pride of Belle River woulda been huge in that series, his offense is really coming into it's own on pace for 25gls from the back end,his minute munching against top lines, his PK ability and his size and toughness is just what the doctor ordered against TB. I don't care what anybody says,Floroda gave the Bolts all they wanted in that series....especially physically which a team has to playing against TB. One goal loss in game one with a goal taken away,2-1 loss in game two with their hottest forward suspended for the same type of hit TB got away with resulted in a 0-2 hole and the loss of home advantage............coming back to win two games and make a series of it without their true #1 shows character IMO. A game seven woulda been great and I was shocked at the engagement of the fans down in Sunrise.....that's the best sign of all for the team! It'll be interesting to see Knight and Bob split time but I believe Knight takes the majority of starts and never looks back. They have a few guys to sign and the space to do so but they could have plenty if they're able to move Yandle's 6.35MX2 and Stralman's 5.5M. A new GDT for every Cats game seems like a lot of work but a but a separate, single thread in this forum for games would be cool, either way it's up to T-man and he has all summer to drink......I mean think about it.

Another nice deal for Florida with getting Reinhart outta Buffalo. The Panthers now have top end talent, and a lot of depth. That team is stacked.
I will say this. I doubt the Cup is leaving Florida next year. It’ll just be visiting a little further south!!!

www.nhl.com/panthers/news/sam-dunk-panthers-make-splash-by-acquiring-reinhart-from-sabres/c-325801464Adding 25yros Bennett for a full season and Reinhart gives the Cats depth and Q knows what to do with depth, gotta sign both RFA's now but Zito sees little difficulty doing so. Buying out Yandle helps and now they have to find a way to make Stralman's 5.5M go away so they can get another D-man through trade or Free agency. Couple of good, youngsters gettin' close at D too in Gildon,Ludvig and Kolyachonok and I won't be surprised to see Carlsson re-signed and get a shot there too......Q saw him in his first two prospect camps. A 'Calder' for Spencer Knight won't surprise me one bit either.

The thing I like the best is what their top guys have to say,Barkov can't wait to play with Lundell after two solid seasons with Liiga and a real nice WC showing. It was great to see Huberdeau out fishing with Bennett on Ekblad's boat and having a blast.....GREAT ROOM down in Sunrise! Hardboiled eggs like Hornqvist,Gudas and Bennett are just what the doctor ordered in the PO's. I was glad to hear Ekblad's injury was a broken bone vs a bad knee injury.......25yro bones heal well....knees can be a bitch. NO team will add a better D-man to their lineup than the Cats will with Ekblad when he returns for camp.......NO team. He woulda been HUGE against the Bolts in that series!

They have to find a way to make Stralman's 5.5MX1 go away without too much damage but he's still serviceable and it's only one year and they're shittin' in tall cotton. Wennberg also had a nice season for the 2.2M they paid him last summer after Columbus bought him out so it'd be nice to re-sign him too. If Bob regains anything clos to his pre-Florida form @32,the Cats will prosper but I see problems if he doesn't.......Spencer Knight might cushion the blow though.

Zito has done wonders for this team. If only he came in before that awful Bobrovsky contract. They also have that 5.3 buyout caphit from Yandle next season (22-23), thats going to sting. Im surprised Forsling was re-signed. i thought Q didnt like him Edit* AZ just picked up Stralman’s contract for a 2nd rounder

Forsling was huge after the Cats picked him up and especially after Ekblad went down and Q likes him a lot,he played him when he was here too but Forsling was young and not ready yet. 11.8M in space now and Reinhart is up next.

AZ should just rename their team "Arizona Bail Bonds". They should relocate to a different city. When yesterday I was shaking my head about Edmonton's decision to resign Smith to a 2-year deal, with Arizona I'm not even trying to look for some logic. Sure, Stralman still is a very good serviceable Dman no. 3-4, but this is not the way how to become a serious contender.

I'd have to think Phoenix would be pretty low, but I guess the weather is nice most of the year...

That would be ok with me and it would give Q a chance to thumb his nose; or give the finger, as he chooses to Bowman. I could get into being a Panther fan, as long as they aren't chokers like the rest of the teams that hope to decup the Bolts. It is funny how deceiving the Avs were after they looked so good in game 1 against the Knights. First class chokers they were for sure. Whether they will be again this year remains to be seen, but they have choked two years in a row, so why not a third?

CF shows Montour signed for 3.5MX3 and rumors are Verhaeghe will be re-done by the end of the day with only Reinhart left and enough space to make that happen.
The Cats kept everybody they needed to and added Reinhart,it'll still be tough to get past TB but it's up to Q now....he has a stellar squad.

I’m not fully up to date on their overall cap situation, but it seems under control for a wee bit here. So they may be threats for the next few years too. And if they decide to LTIR Bob and use him if needed in the playoffs, they can add one hell of a rental every year. And I think they may this year. So look out for that team!!!

Reinhart signs for three and that’s everybody ‘on deck’ next year with some juggling to do for Zito going forward to keep Barkov and Huberdeau in the fold. The Cats get a great player back from injury, they added a few and spent next year’s 1st doing so(sound familiar ?),now the pressure is on Q to do something with this solid roster.
