The league’s disciplinary department is a joke. Even the players know it. They’re just worried Maroon will take matters into his own hands and beat the piss out of Montour next game and looked for any reason. So why didn’t they try to de-escalate the NYR= Caps situation? That was an embarrassment to the league and now they’ll over react and nanny any situation to look proactive. What Maroon was going to do would police the players better than the DOPS could ever do.

I’m calling it now, Panthers best out the Bolts. Mainly due to the bolts are not the healthiest of teams. I think without a fully healthy Stamkos or Kucherov, ya they’ll both be back, but at what capacity? I think the Panthers will meet up with the Leaves in the Conference Finals. I hate to say it. But I believe the Leaves are finally in a position to get to the finals. Thornton, Spezza, Simmonds, and the old guard are there for one thing. And I feel they’ll die to get it. It’s the final piece in their awesome careers!!!

Bob stymied the 'ning a couple years ago, mayhaps he does it again. we shalt see. as far as the loafs and conference finals go, I believe the final four will be seeded by point totals once it kicks off. I don't think they'll meet in that round unless some upsets happen, which is a possibility. the loafs can score, but how well they keep the other team from scoring will determine their fate, imo.

I thought the winner of each division will be in the conference finals? I was watching TSN and they said that this is probably the Leaves greatest shot due to the path. The Canadian division pretty much sucks. And the leaves should be able to get out alive. Once they (potentially) beat their two divisional opponents, they’re heading to the conference finals. Not sure how that’ll work. It seems the Yanks got their shiznizit together and Covid is working it’s way out, where we’re still deep in the throes of a lockdown. It’s gonna be extended another 2 weeks until June 2 now. So that’ll be right into the conference finals. I doubt they let any foreign entities in here. So maybe the Leaves gotta play out of province? Something is gonna be weird!!

Something is gonna be weird!! correct, each division winner makes the final 4. I am not sure how they will have the conference trophies this year, as there isn't an east or west, just 4 divisions. wonder if they scrap handing out those trophies this season? anyway, I've been saying the same about the loafs all season. they've basically been set up to make the final 4 with how shitty the rest of their division is, but I still have very little faith in their goaltending and defense. if they make the final 4, I can see them getting their asses handed to them by someone like Vegas or Colorado. the last 4 will re-seed by regular season points, so right now if the top seed from each makes it in, the loafs will likely be the 3rd or 4th seed.

Sounds like the teams from Florida are gonna have to tighten those chin-straps........... www.nhl.com/news/over-the-boards-dan-rosen-mailbag-may-12/c-324594426?tid=277729162I was surprised to read Bennett's only 24 and still a RFA next year......that could end up being a nice trade. Forsling's still only 24 too and a RFA himself. The Cats get to see how these two resurgent, young players perform in the postseason before they have to negotiate.........big advantage. Panthers have been one of the league's most physical teams all year and went at it tooth and nail against the Bolts........and Q didn't seem to mind it one bit......go figure.

I think the Panthers got one hell of a player in Bennet. He’s tough and really plays the game well. I think they got a steal in him. That’s how you build a team. He was the 4th overall pick. He’s got game, and it just wasn’t in Calgary. Anytime you can add a former high pick that’s been in the league for 5 years, never a bad thing. Reinhart is available in Buffalo. I feel they’re equal type players. I’d take either of them, both only 24/25. And that’s why I feel the Panthers 🐆 are on the prowl for lord Stanley’s mug. Plus they got Q, so can’t ever think he’s down and out!!!

He's all ours now!LOL!

Ive gotta say, the Panthers look like a fun team to watch. Maybe Ekblad makes her back? They said 12 weeks. And usually guys heal a wee bit quicker. It’s been at least 7-8 weeks now. So he may be skating soon!!!

Florida was 4 over the year before Q took the reigns and 33 over since, what an advantage going into the postseason and quit the track record against Cooper too! Sunday night baby!

I like Barkov and I am glad he is getting some long overdue recognition... ...but Stone should have won that award. they should just recatagorize that award to best defensive center in the league seeing as wingers aren't allowed to win it due to their lack of face-offs... Stone led the league again in takeaways and had more points than Barkov or Bergeron... it's like the bullshit of Hossa not winning it ever all over again...

I understand this opinion because Big Hoss drove it home for a decade here and Stone's also excellent defensively while putting up offensive numbers along the way, also like Big Hoss but I feel top line centers have different and more difficult assignments. Covering Stamkos or Point or any other top center over all 200' is tougher than covering a D-man IMO and FO's do enter into the award for two reasons. FO's are considered a defensive stat first and foremost and there's no other recognition for it. This might not be fair to wingers like Hossa and Stone and a few others but I think it's the way it is for a reason. I think some wingers have won it.....no? I've seen a lot of Barkov and Stone and I take Barkov on my team every time.....JMO!

I agree that centers have a tougher job, although I would point to Stone covering MacKinnon in the previous round as well. I would also take Barkov over Stone, but mostly because he is 4 years younger. wingers have won it in the past. but the last time was 2003 and since then it has basically turned into the same thing as the Norris: you have to have a good offensive season as well to win it. Stone has been one of the best defensive players period for years now, just like Hoss, and is beyond due for some recognition. I don't have a huge issue with Barkov winning it as he is also deserving and under appreciated, but I thought this might finally be the year that a wing was rewarded for playing fantastically on both ends of the ice.
