yeah, I know Jack was concerned about tb winning again, but I think the canes and cats will both give them a helluva run once the playoffs start. Me and my buddy were 8 bottles deep and about 12snifters each of wine. And we was talking bout the Canes. I think they’ll be gone early. Qs team is much greater than them, and so is Tampa. I think they lack star power. The Canes look a lot like the Preds team that went to the Cup. Very deep team, just no real high end stars to win it all. We’ll see. But they’re a team that could really use a Toews or Kane!!! Aho? Svechnikov? Hamilton? the canes have more depth than the cats, imo, and are better defensively. probably will come down to the play in net. the cats could have an advantage there if Bob gets hot.

Vegas does have Petro now, which helps, but is he too old? The Canes to me, Aho TT Hamilton Svechnikov etc. They seem like a great 2nd line, but now they need those true top line players. I don’t see them. I still feel the Cats have Barkov and Huberdeau, which they haven’t proven themselves yet, but they’ve both put up good numbers, Hooby put up 92, and was on pace for the same last year. Barkov put up a 96 point season, and has been on over a point per game the last year and a half. So their both superstars, now they gotta cement their legacy and win when it counts. Both Vegas and the Canes have no player anywhere near that caliber. The Cats have 2. So until they’re dead and out, I’ll take them over the the teams that are only known for their depth!!!

Anytime a guy gets into the 90 point range, they’re superstars. Stone is a very effective player, but if he’s your leading scorer, I think you’ll have troubles. Vegas is a solid team, but I’m not sure they’ll win it all. You need those players that rise up at times that others can’t!!!

I dunno that Vegas will win, but I also don't know if Stone is that kind of player or not yet. he hasn't had a chance to show whether he is or not, imo. however, Vegas is a pretty damn good team, imo. there really aren't many teams that have that superstar that puts them over the top right now, at least within the teams that looks to be the favored teams when the playoffs start. looks to me like someone is gonna make a name for them here soon.

Two points and a +3 for Hooby-dooby-doo and the OT GWG from Barkov shows two point a game players stepping up in a big game. Down 3-1 in the third despite almost doubling the Canes SoG's saw the Cats bare down against a great defensive team and check out the giant stat line on MacKenzie Weegar......MY GOD!... www.nhl.com/gamecenter/car-vs-fla/2021/04/24/2020020745#game=2020020745,game_state=final,game_tab=stats

I’m not saying you’re wrong. Stone had a few years in the playoffs with the Sens, they went on a couple deep runs too. He was very good in them, but just isn’t the superstar you need and the Sens never won it all. I see our Hawks being built in the same manner. Looking for a lot of good players but without the top of the draft board available to them, they’ll end up like the Preds. Or the other teams we speak of here!!!

Panthers clinch.... www.nhl.com/panthers/news/florida-panthers-clinch-berth-in-2021-stanley-cup-playoffs/c-324103280BUT.....I see big problems if it's 'Bob' in net to start the PO's! Cats ended the 2nd last night outshooting the Preds 42-20 yet trailed 4-3,Knight stopped all ten he faced in the 3rd and the Cats kept scoring......good thing. I dunno how dinged up Driedger is but it's not that far fetched thinking the kid might get a go in the postseason.....what a story that'd be!

Cats are off till Saturday after tonight's game against Dallas, this gives the Canes and Bolts a chance to play their games in hand. Canes see three home tilts against us.....YIKES and Tampa has two home tilts against Dallas so how much the Cats two home tilts against Tampa next weekend matter is anybody's guess.
edit: Tyler Seguin activated for the first time since last year's SCF and Spencer Knight looks to go 4-0-0

Can't be thrilled coughin' up a two goal lead but "Sasha" potted his 18th in the last 23 games for the OT GWG and Spencer Knight becomes the youngest goaltender in league history to win his first four tilts.

With the Canes and TB winning their games in hand,it looks like the Cats and Tampa in the first round. It should be a spirited series to say the least and more than likely a VERY spirited two regular season games against each other to end things up........these two games will decide home ice for the first round. Tampa has one more game in hand against the 'can't win any more' Stars Friday which should put em two points ahead of the Cats for 2nd in the division coming into the two game home-set for the Cats.....should be fun viewing!

if Nashville beats out the stars, they and the 'canes will be in the same boat... Crazy season this one. indeed. tonight and tomorrow, the blows and Knights are playing each other. likely they'll meet again in the first round (unless the Avs win out). the loafs and habs play tomorrow with a habs win clinching a playoff spot vs....the loafs. the bruins play the rags tomorrow, then they draw the isles and caps their final two. one of those teams will almost certainly be their opponent in the first round.

I wonder if they'll award the President's Trophy this season?
seems kinda silly to do so to me, considering the limited schedules everyone has played...

The Stars drubbing of the Bolts in Florida last night leaves TB and the Cats tied with the sane number of games played and two left at the BB&T center for home ice in the 1st round. Game one is HUGE for the Cats tonight, they're catchin' the Bolts on a back to back after five days off to get healed, rested and ready.

If Tampa gets the win in regulation Monday night, they warp up 2nd and I hope like hell you're right when you say they ain't worryin' about home ice....Cat's'll take it and run with it.

considering sam bennett's a .35 point/game player in his 7 year career, this is one of the more amazing things i've read in awhile considering when the panthers had bure he was pretty much still in his prime, never mind barkov. huberdeau, etc. 6g, 9a in his first 10 games. good start.
