Cats found themselves down early in the 3rd yet again but the the juice didn't flow when they hit the switch this time and a wasted good outing by Bob. Saros did stop 40 of 41 though.

Cats were lucky to get two points out of their set with the Preds after Saros stopped eighty eight of the ninety shots he faced.

I will say that the Cats seem to have a lot of the intangibles that other championship teams have. I’m excited to watch this team when it counts. It seems they’ve cleared out a few of the problems they’ve had in the room and now they’re really rolling. They seem tough and have the “switch” when they need it. Very exciting team to watch!!!

I'd rather hear broken bone than torn up knee,25yro bones heal quickly. Hornqvist placed on IR,I'll leave it at that.

Florida finds itself tied with TB with a league best 52 points after winning four in a row without Barkov,Hornqvist,Ekblad or Duclair for the most part......not too shabby! Hooby-dooby-doo took a knee to knee last night himself but the Cats had to breath a sigh of relief when he returned to the ice.

Barkov and Hornqvist return to help the Cats win their fifth straight and keep pace with TB at a league best 54 points. Tortz benched Roslovic for some reason yet he keeps Domi in there with his five goals.

Cats sixth in a row coupled with the Wings first win in Tampa in a decade finds Q's team with a league high 56 points and second only to the Avs in P%.......a good place to start one hell of a rugged road trip from!

Up 2-1 going into the 3rd in Carolina and Bob gives up two in the 3rd,the second a softy for the GWG......two EN's followed. Time for Q to go with the better tender from here on out. Very good defensive game from the Canes and a nice game from Mrazek. Back at it Wednesday.

Cats went into Tampa, doubled em up on SOG's 38-19,won 66% of the draws, had a 2-1 lead half way through the 3rd and lost a tough OT decision. Vasilevskiy is a BEAST who might win a Hart to go along with a Vezina this year and will make the Bolts hard to beat again.

It's hard not to appreciate what Q and his staff is cooking down in the sunshine state my friends! Of the twenty players who dressed for the undressing of the BJ's last night, thirteen weren't on the team last year and four weren't on it ten days ago. Last night's roster was missing not only Ekblad but Weegar,Verhaeghe and Acciri are all about to return and Hornqvist had a maintenance day. The recent arrivals have seamlessly integrated into the lineup,Bennett potted a few and is one tough dude,Calgary may have made a mistake moving him and Montour and Gusev look re-invigorated too. Barkov and Huberdeau have ear to ear smiles these days to do along with their outstanding play, the Gudas and Hornqvist offseason additions are a reason why and so is a staff getting so much out of guys like Anthony 'The duke' Duclair and Gustav Forsling.
Cats biggest games of the year comin' up against the red hot Canes Thursday and Saturday will be the measuring stick for Q's boys.
Major kudos to Zito too,he's done a fantastic job so far and Uncle Dale left one hell of a parting gift in the young American tender who won his first of MANY last night.

To me, it sounds like Zito is being really smart and listening to Q. Q is letting him know what he needs. And he’s getting it. Getting Montour for Ekblad replacement is genius. That kid is very good, but probably the stink in Buffalo got to him. This is why Coach and GM need to be on the same page and not one pulling the other. Zito seemed like he may be a dick to deal with at first, but he’s seemed to shut up now and just work with Q instead of against him. I’m so happy Q gets another shot to do something special. I think the dynamic duo in Florida could get it done, but they gotta prove it now. And they got one hell of a leader in Q. Also the pick up of Bennet is awesome. I can really see him being a 30+ goal guy like he was intended to be. I think Calgary put too much stock on Monahan and Goudreau, and both are 2nd tier scorers. Never should have been top level guys. Bennet is another 2nd tier guy, he can fit in with real top level guys, but he’s not one himself. I think he’s tough, and plays a very good game. I believe Sam Reinhart could be another gem if plucked out of Buffalo. Same type players!!!

Always good to see kids get playing time. Stopped 33 of the 34 he faced and looked calm and well positioned all night. That’s cool to see a 20 year old make it. Kind of a Unicorn situation there. I really can’t recall the last tendy that made their debut at 20? Maybe MAF? Price? Not many make it before 25. So good on Spence!!!

He just turned 20 a day before the start but it'll be his last in a while unless there's an injury,Q says he has his tandem but wanted to get the kid a shot. Bob's play has improved and Driedger has been REAL good but the big kid looked calm and quiet in his net and sounded confident receiving his first star in his first start.

Almost tied it up twice late but the Canes were the better team and will be a bad 1st round match up for the Cats. The Canes also have a big time, young tender on their hands and play some of the league's best D and PK.

Me and my buddy were 8 bottles deep and about 12snifters each of wine. And we was talking bout the Canes. I think they’ll be gone early. Qs team is much greater than them, and so is Tampa. I think they lack star power. The Canes look a lot like the Preds team that went to the Cup. Very deep team, just no real high end stars to win it all. We’ll see. But they’re a team that could really use a Toews or Kane!!!
