Hawks/Hogs have officially named Anders Sorensen as the head coach.
Now get him and his coaches up here and work with the Luke and get a real ORG system in place.

May as well start a thread for the new season. It will be almost as interesting down at the farm as it will be in chicago.

Clendening, a name from the past. I remember Bowman raving about him right after the draft. He sure has bounced around and paid his dues.

Good veteran for Rockford though and he'll help their PP. The other 3 played in good systems in the AHL, so it'll help with their depth. KD has to get scraps for both teams and over time the young guys will mature and fill spots on both clubs.

When I hear Clendening I think of Ian Mitchell just not able to get to next level still to be paid for 14 years to play hockey has to be kick ass

In the Rockford IceHog's news, it said the AHL held it's annual 2022 Awards Gala last Thursday night. The Rockford IceHogs did win one of the awards; it wasn't an award I would have thought would actually have been an award.
"... with the Rockford IceHogs taking home hardware in as the top team in the Western Conference in season-ticket sales revenue growth."
When you think about it though, as a minor league team, this is probably a fairly important award. Since minor leagues don't bring in money on par with NHL teams, and don't have attendance, anywhere near NHL levels, this would be another source of revenue and any increase would be greatly valued. I don't know if the IceHog's prices changed from two years ago to last year, but hopefully the increase in season ticket revenue was mainly driven by an increase in the number of season ticket sales and not by any increase in prices.

For a couple of years now I have been meaning to see some games in Rockford but haven’t gotten off my fat a** to do so. Starting this fall though I want to see what the Hawks have there with my own eyes.

Starting this fall though I want to see what the Hawks have there with my own eyes. Since the Wolves play the Hogs like 20 times a year, I can just go the 3 miles to Allstate Arena and see them there. We should set-up a gathering to meet up at the Wolves-Hogs game.

Hogs play the Wolves Nov. 19th, Saturday @ 7 PM at Allstate arena.
Anyone interested in making a group outing for this?
We can meet up at a local watering hole before the game.
Let me know, this could be fun.

other than having a hard name to say and spell, i like this joseph zakrzewski who does play by play for the hogs. i thought last year he was going to be one of the guys to take a turn doing a hawks' game but it never happened. i would've been keen to hear him do a full game. all i hear of him in rockford is on the highlite reel. anyways, he's a good talker who seems to know his stuff about hockey. has anybody heard him do a game? just curious what people who've heard him a full game think of him? and doesn't he do the games solo, as in no colour guy?

kurtis gabriel has retired from hockey.
that should help open up a spot on the hogs for riley mckay who had 192 penalty minutes in 51 games for the indy fuel last year.

Rockford plays their two preseason games in about 9-10 days, and open the regular season on Oct. 15. Something I wondered about is suppose the IceHogs are without Reichel for maybe the whole season, or for a good portion of it.
In that case, I'm wondering who would be the IceHogs offensive generator. Would they look to Dylan Sikura? There seem to be a few guys that can score some goals, such as Teply, or Slavin, or Hardman if he isn't in Chi., but who will be the playmakers. Without Reichel, I wonder if it will be offense by committee.

I've not seen it anywhere yet, but I have to ASSume that the Hogs have switched to the same system the 'hawks are using now?
is the current coach able to handle the switch or will we be looking for a new coach next season who can?
