already been reported it’s a false rumor thankfully. I haven’t heard anything about it being a false rumour, TSN 690 spoke briefly on it, when speaking about what will transpire in the next few months, It is a possibility at this point.

Maybe they can hire Kenny and ask him what he would do. And then when he answers we just do the opposite.

Edmonton was feeling the pressure, yes Holland blew the bank wide open, but I think that had more to do with McDavid and the team searching for some sort of success to keep him happy. The same may happen in Chicago, Bedard certainly won’t tolerate sitting at the bottom of the league for another 3 seasons, kid wants to compete, wants to play beyond the regular season. if, and I say if, the Hawks are in the bottom 5 again next season, maybe they will have no choice to open the vault, there is nothing indicating anyone of our so called elite prospects amount to anything.

Yes I agree, but it is something that may have to happen. I still feel like when the Hawks acquired The Bulin Wall, back in 2006, not sure of the exact year it showed FA the Hawks have a different philosophy and want to win, I am not sure KD is demonstrating that, hence the couple of more years I have given him to show better results.

i wasn't all that choked when he left and i wasn't all that keen on him coming back but let's hope his encore here will see the team improve every year he's here.

Just class all the way by Foligno. Dude should have the C next season. unless they are just going to force it upon Bedard or they want to wait another two years to give it to Bedard (and no one else), it certainly seems like he should have it for the next couple seasons...

If Augroin and Lapointe got it before Toews became De Facto, why not Foligno who is being everything you'd want in a captain.

They even have Foligno saying all the right things for him to become captain. I can see Bedard named captain and Foligno, Seth and Murphy named assistants……. For now!!!

I don’t think there’s one person here that would argue that Foligno is a man’s man and deserves captain all decade long. I had said in another thread that the “vets” have spoken. And a couple really great posters had said they took the overpayment and they should shut up. But that’s what makes Foligno a beauty. He doesn’t care. He says what is real. He was a captain before and he is now. I absolutely love the guy and never met him. From the few o know, they’ve said he’s the best guy you’ll ever meet. So let’s cherish him while he’s here!!!

I'd hope the Hawks aren't one of those teams that just slaps the C on their best offensive player and calls it a day. Honestly, I've always hated when teams did that. The captain needs to be someone that can actually lead the team not only on the stat sheet, but on the ice and in the room. If he isn't that type of player, he shouldn't be the captain -- and that's fine. He can be an alternate if the org feels he just has to wear a letter -- that's stupid on any org's part to think that in my view, but either way, there's nothing wrong with an A.

Whilst Foligno is a Hawk, he is the only option. I really hope they dont give it to Bedard with Nick in the room - let Foligno mentor him until his contract is up, then give it to Bedard.

When Toews did that I knew he had the chops to be captain. As soon as he Toews was drafted and not even at the podium to greet Tallon and Bettman, most were saying "future captain" even as an 18-year-old.
