I can’t speak firsthand to CB’s overall game as most of what I have seen is via clips and none in an NHL game. But I did watch some of his Kurvers game and there is no question that his wrister is lethal and from basically anywhere in the zone. Many high picks have had to work on their shot even after they were in the NHL (Patrick Kane for one) but Bedard’s is already as good as any I have seen. Obviously there’s a lot more to a top NHL player’s game than just his wrister but man he has a huge leg up with that skill.

Obviously there’s a lot more to a top NHL player’s game than just his wrister but man he has a huge leg up with that skill. Elite offensive players get much more leeway in (not) playing on the defensive side of the puck - our own Patrick Kane is as good an example of that fact as any other. To his credit Kane, gave a better defensive effort later in his career than for the first 10+ years but even then he was subpar. I re-watched the Saturday game last night with a focus on Bedard and I saw him involved defensively quite a bit more than Kane would have normally been. Now, Bedard playing center means he has different defensive responsibilities than Kane had as a winger but the effort to engage was very noticeable from Bedard and I think that bodes well for his overall game.

That made me laugh - get him off the topic of hockey and he loosens up it appears.

Or relying on your mom to help you cook makes you more captain material lol better than buying takeout. And considering he's a little machine, keep eating that "home" cooking.

Nope. Not a chance. Not even a smidgeon of a chance. Not even a sliver of a smidgeon of a chance. Not even a ... well, you get the idea.

tracey myers has been covering this team a long time, since the 2010-11 season. didn't realize she'd left nbc sports chicago and joined nhl.com way back in 2017.

I always liked her and was sad to see her go. I liked her as well. It was strange because I normally don't like when reporters throw in non-hockey related stuff into their stories but I got a kick out of it when Tracey did it now and then. Happy to see she's still around.

I watched scrimmage number 2 and Bedard keeps amazing me, he had the puck and went right towards Allan, Nolan shoved him and his body went back but his legs kept moving and he fought him off then made a beautiful sauce pass to Donato for a tap in.
He also made a great long backhand saucer pass that found Hall behind the D and he almost pulled off the Forsberg.
This kid might will the Hawks into the playoffs.

Yeah, I like THG (The Hockey Guy) too. He does a pretty good job on keeping up to date on all 32 teams, as well as info on prospects heading into the draft - basically all things NHL hockey. He isn't going to be into the weeds on every team as the diehard fans of those teams will be but he's pretty close. I enjoy watching him do shows on other teams where I learn things about those teams I wouldn't have otherwise known.

In 2008 I got NHL Centre Ice to watch Toews and Kane, switched to NHL Gamecentre Live till last season when it was blocked on Canada. So I used Sportsnet now, terrible streaming site and more expensive.
So I'm back to Centre Ice and it's showing tonight's game, with the Hawks last two picks that were in the top10, like 19 and 88. Full circle.
